@@andyfireblade the trickle charger you have won’t be anymore than 12 volts and 2 amps, a car battery runs around 13 volts and can supply more amps than necessary. Even if the charger put out 14 volts, with such a low amperage, the car battery would easily soak it up without an issues.
I use a lifepo4 battery as its got more capacity, the only problem using those is at 11v it will cut off without letting g the heater cool down sending smoke everywhere lol If you use the trickle charger full time you stand less of a chance it will do that. The lifepo4 battery will withstand 10 year at 6000/8000 cycles at 80%. (Still usable after then).
i will look into those batteries. thank you for your comment did you see my other heater vids, www.youtube.com/@andyfireblade let me know what you think, cheers andy
I found the combustion air intake depletes the oxygen in the room if not piped outside also recirculating the heated air is better than drawing outside air. Just fyi I’m sure you probably know enough about these already lol
Hi Andy I recently purchased a diesel heater (maxpeedingrods 5kw) and a power converter (the same 30amp as the one in your video) I've had a e11 code I think it might be a voltage issue. What voltages do you set your power converter when the heater is working mines at 12.5 v put it drops below 10 v when start up Thanks for your help in advance
hello chris mine is set on 12v. but a lot of people say that 13.8v is best? maybe it could be faulty? send it back? did you see the other power supply that i use, you could try on of those. ( the silver box) cheers andy
You’ll be fine trickle charging when the heater is running, connect it all before you start the heater.
thanks and
