Ryan i want to thank you I passed my nbdeII this was the 2nd time taking it and the difference this time was I was trying to learn the matireal instead of memorizing. YOU were such a critical factor in my success!!! You have a captavating way of teaching and making the subjects approacable. Thank you, you have a brilliant mind. I hope one day to meet you my dear colleague.
Hi Dr., I did not quite understand the overbilling. What I understood of the example was:
The Dentist charge for $500 for a crown. Insurance only covers $400. Dentist waves copayment ($100) to the patient, and the patient paid the 100$. Still the dentist lets insurance know that he charges $500 for crown. How is this a type of fraud? As I see it is that the dentist was honest with the insurance and telling them, "I am going to charge 500$" and the insurance knows they will just pay the 400$ mentioned above.
There is routine dental coverage trough Medicare, the intermediates are private insurance companies like simply, Aetna and Humana. This topic can be a little confusing.
Dr. Ryan: Million thanks to you, Saving all dentists professional Please clarify this question about which illegal for a dentist?? Much appreciated. Illegal for a dentist A/ Drink tow cup of wine B/ Having consensual sex with patient C/ Prescribe Schedule II drugs for back pain
Hi Hayat, I’m honestly not sure for this one. It’s just an educated guess, but I would say C is the most “against the law” thing there because prescribing a narcotic for anything other than tooth/orofacial pain (or a patient using an opioid for anything other than what it was prescribed for) is illegal. So if I had to guess I’d go with that one.

CDC: "I'm sure you all have heard of it to some degree"
Yes, no kidding! I recorded this far before everything going on and had no idea the extent to which the CDC would be in the spotlight.
