    The face lifted XE is a handsome looking car. The German rivals look a bit mainstream next to it. I particularly like the new interior and tech.

    Why would the XE need a sport brake version, that's why the XF is for. The XE's purpose is to be a lower cost entry Jaguar. *As of late 2023 I'm an XE owner* I can tell you the rear passenger space is fine I'm 5ft 11 and can sit in the back comfortably. The boot space is fine too.

      The XEs purpose is to put the sport into sports saloon, the XFs purpose is to put the saloon into sports saloon.
      It is not really entry level.....Jaguar don't do Merc A class/BMW 1 series and Audi A2 entry level cars.
      I bought my RSport P300 XE in Sept 2018, the equivalent XF was 1k more. My decision was not cost but size, kids are adults and grandkids are only carried occasionally so XE was best fit. Rides like it is on rails.

    • @devon896
      @devon896 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jameshiggins8329 I agree. I love both XE & XF but it's a fact that the XE is more a 3 series competitor and the remodelled XF is meant to be more up market.

    • @jameshiggins8329
      @jameshiggins8329 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@devon896 I agree the XE and 3 series are similarly sized but in what world can a BMW be a competitor to a Jaguar?
      I am more than slightly biased in favour of Jags.

    • @devon896
      @devon896 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jameshiggins8329 I'm not saying they are but it's what most car reviewers do. Personally I think BMW's are tin can chav boxes, I'd have a Vauxhall over a BMW. I agree Jaguars are things of beauty but they need to be really well looked after with frequent oil changes etc.

    Some time ago I was considering to buy a Jaguar X-Type, but at here Jaguar is considered as a luxury car so the insurance would been crazy expensive, and outside of Great Britain Jaguar dealers are rare, like closest dealer & services to me were 300 kilometers from where I live. And because it´s a luxury car the spares and services are way more expensive than for BMW, Mercedes, Volvo or Audi. And god knows what happens to Jaguar dealers after the Brexit.

    If you need 2 seats and occasionally need 4 seats buy an XE.
    If you need 4 seats buy an XF (when I bought by XE P300 R Sport there was only 1k difference between it and an equivalent XF)

    Looks fantastic but the tech falls short of BMW/Mercedes/Audi. It also has a cramped backseat and the plastics and build quality is below its rivals. Adding all this to Jaguar's notoriously poor reliability, sales will never reach those of its Euro rivals.

    • @rayaanshaikh5830
      @rayaanshaikh5830 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      You mean the tech that half the population don't use anyway? Hence the abundance of basic spec BMW's and Audi's found on the UK roads due to cheap lease deals? I dont believe that Jaguar reliability is any worse than the above mentioned brands anyway when looking at objective figures, not what your dad's grandad's mums best friend said....

    • @samsharma9207
      @samsharma9207 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rayaanshaikh5830 Hi I use the tech in my X5 every day, but ok. Plus, anyone that sits in these vehicles will see the build quality difference. Also, the Euro brands like Audi/Merc/BMW tend to stay OBJECTIVELY in the middle of the pack in reliability, while Land Rover/Jaguar stay in the bottom quadrant. Look at any index: Consumer Reports, JD Power, WhatCar, US News, Auto Report, etc. Here's a link for example: www.cars.com/articles/what-are-the-most-reliable-cars-for-2020-hint-genesis-lexus-make-em-418187/

    The reason why there isn’t a Sportbrake estate version of the XE is because Jaguar decided not to build one, due to low demand and it wouldn’t be as profitable as the F-Pace SUV.
    It’s also why Alfa Romeo doesn’t do a Sportwagon estate version of its Giulia, also because of low demand and it wouldn’t be as profitable as the Stelvio SUV.

    No estate version relates to practicality.
    410 litres of boot space only earns it a 4 out of 10.
