Big B RC thank you so much! This system was in my old Kraton. I never ran 6s cause I’m still new to the hobby and honestly never felt I needed 6s. It had a 15t pinion and I always thought it was plenty. Now with the 17t pinion it’s even more! On 4s it still more than powerful enough. On 6s I enjoyed it but I wasn’t pulling the trigger all the way lol. Thanks for watching!

awesome vid 🤟what pinion do you recommend with the same setup (6s lipo) to reduce chances of overheating? currently just got my hands on the same rc and max 8 combo, will run a GPM dual fan & heatsink, hopefully should keep temps down enough.
If I remember correctly I was using a 17t. I believe a 15t is the sweet spot and still has plenty of power and speed. Keep in mind it was 99 degrees out and I had no fans. You can run a 17t just monitor your temps. I was also running in grass which can also make it run hotter. I’d say 15t tho to be safe.
Finally found a video showing the max 8 combo with the exb. I have this coming in the mail in two days. I have a 4s and a 6s for it. how are temps on both setups?
Bow River Basher so the first day it was really hot. On 4s I had no issues. I did run 6s later in the day and it hit thermal 3 times. I’d let it cool off and get a couple more jumps. This last Sunday I ran only 6s and it was still got out. Never hit thermal. Never checked temps though. I’m very happy with the max8 combo. It’s prolly 2-3 years old. I got it with a used Kraton last year. Still going strong in the exb! Plenty of power. Temps on 6s were 180/170 motor esc. Thanks for watching! Check out the second vid I did on the exb. Hi. I order mumy first kraton exb with combo max8 2200kv and i think i begening with 11touth.but many people say meit is too much and my engine is going to heat up too much.
In this video it had a 17t. Way too much unless you watch motor temps. I think for this setup 13-15 might be the sweet spot. 11 is conservative but will still feel good.

So I got one and swapped chassis right away so I could sell my V3 with the new chassis etc. already sold it to a homie. The exb is awesome! I think the max8 is plenty. B. K. Awesome! I went through all my diffs. All shims and gears were there. Did 50/200/30 on fluid. The M2c Goliath chassis is 4mm. The exb is 3mm. Still very tough. I didn’t need the M2c. But I had it already so it had to be! More beefcake to come!

Hey, I want to ask your opinion. I am planning on buying kraton tires for my Mojave. I know the body won't work, and maybe take off a bumper. But, it's gotta be pretty close to the same thing as a kraton. So, I think I can use it like a truggy. What do you think?

Yea I was going to do the same set up but was afraid of heat so went with the max6 esc and 2050kv motor and it’s insanely fun a 4s and is beast on 6s. Have always had good luck with hobbywing. Run the same max6 combo in my xmaxx too and it’s a dream to drive now but my EXB is my go to truck. Awesome vid bud!!
@@MrMikebeben nice man well I finnaly put in the max 8 combo and I run it with the stock 13 tooth I think is the gear number and the thing just loves to do standing backflips and it overheated once but because the tires were fiilled with water and it was pretty hot but I ordered a power hobbies heatsink and fan too keep the temps low so I’m pretty excited

@@didgeteria9068 until this video I always ran 4s on it with a 17t pinion cause it was crazy and 6s was too much for me. 17 got hot but it was almost 100 out. I’m currently on a 13t and it’s kind of perfect. On the stock copperheads it’s still hard for me to control on 6s. On these vented LP back flips I can drive the car a lot better. I still need practice this motor and max8 is formidable. I don’t know what the limit is but 17 for bashing seems too much. I’ve been told 13 is more than enough. It’s way more than I need still. But I’m getting better and gaining more confidence.

jondilly1974 I’m not really a 6s guy. This max8 combo has been in my old Kraton for a long time now. I even bought it used. Was in great shape but it’s gotta be 2-3 years old. I never ran it on 6s till today. And it’s basically the same car with just more exb parts and new diffs and my M2c chassis I already had. On 6s it was pretty fun but I need to practice more.
jondilly1974 oh and the temps got high quick. I did a check in the video. Motor was 180ish and esc 170 or so. So it was getting hot. It was also 90+ out so that doesn’t help. I was already considering some kind of bad ass fan. But honesty summer coming to an end. Just need to be careful. I’ve broken every fan I’ve ever had lol.

Thanks! My rear diff lasted about 6 runs and the internal gears got chewed up. Oh well. I added a V3 diff and it’s doing fine. I have LSD plates and gears to rebuild the diff but haven’t. It’s unfortunate about the rear diff. Can’t say if same will happen to you or not. However I personally am still 100% happy with the truck. It’s amazing. And yes I went through truck thoroughly before I ever ran it. Filled diffs etc.
@@RedRoxRc awesome bro. Yeh 6 runs is great of course people shouldn't have any issues with the diffs begin a extreme basher and it's not cheap. I'm sure you saw the new rebuilding differential video on arrma site for the EXB they fixed it. I hope to get those parts for free if I have a problem with mine.
@@paulrakis agreed. For the open rear diff. Add and extra larger shim. So there three plus one small under the sun gears. Should solve the issue if there was gonna be any.

That's pretty quick on 4s. 17 pinion will heat up too much on 6s. I have a 21 pinion but that's with a 1717 way more efficient. Gives me 90kph still with incredible torque still.
@@RedRoxRc definately probably even 14 if your sticking to 6s coz you've got 2200kv that gives alot of speed but its torque were looking for hey. Do you want h Kevin Tabolts vids? He put a 2150kv 4070 (it's 109mm long, don't know why it's called 70) TP motor, (crazy powerful) and it backflipped on 15 pinion easy m hit around 90, but it still got hot so he dropped it to 12 and it still flipped and still plenty of speed for a big basher. I may drop mine to 19 even though it stays pretty cool at 21, (1717s r very efficient) I don't need to do 90kph in a basher like this I might go down to keep it cooler n increase torque even more. It's crazy torque now. My diff is locked with 500,000 I may need to drop to 100,000 if I drop to 19 pinion otherwise one touch and in flipping. I like to have the ability to backflip but only off full trigger it's a bit crazy having it flip even when you floor it doing 30 or 40. What oils do you have centre?

@@RedRoxRc cool what motor was the 1650? Hobbywing or Castle 1717 ? I prefer a larger lower kV with a slightly higher pinion. Some like larger KV n smaller pinion n think that takes off better. Doesn't make much difference I think but I prefer the larger motors

Hallo Leute ich habe auch ein Kraton 6s Roller aber mit einem Hobbywing Max 8 150 Amp und 4268 mit 2600KvV HZ 50 zu 11 auf 4S ! Die Diff sind original! Keine Hitze auf 4S aber das EXB sperrt alles ich werde das 50 auf 46 HZ wechseln. Die Sperrung versuche ich auf 100000/150000 zu befüllen. Zur Info ich fahre mit 4S 8000Zee 1 Sunde mit dem 50 er und ich werde alle EXB mit Diff Beilagen also ohne EXB machen. Derzeit läuft er an 4S gute 80 KmH. Ich bedanke mich sehr fürs lesen und vielleicht hat ein anderer eine Idee. LG. aus Austria 🇵🇪
RCHOBBY282 this was stock open rear diff. The rear lasted me like 5 or 6 bashes before the gears gave. I am now running a V3 diff in the rear. Been great so far.
Mine came with the open rear diff. No, it didn’t hold up lol. It lasted about 5-6 bashes before destroyed itself. I’m still running a V3 rear diff and front and rear are LSD diffs. Thanks for watching!
@@RedRoxRc This answered my question. Oct 2021 now and I ordered a Kraton 6S EXB and I want the open diff in the rear (I know there is a shim fix for it now) and do a weight close to yours 50/200/20. I want to get the rear end to drift and spin so I can flip it around like you did in the park there when you were alone. I was told that the steering is a bit slow with the front LSD for turns but in THIS video you were able to drift and/or spin it around doing a 180 easily. Look forward to it plan to run 18T pinion but I will have fans on both the motor and ESC.

Also I’ve been told a max 6 is a better setup for the Mojave. I recently got a Mac 6 and a 1680kv leapord motor from rcjuice.com. Check them out

@@didgeteria9068 I wouldn’t worry too much about oil. But the preferred Setup I see is 60k front 200k center and 20 or 30 rear.
One thing about wheel park....dont bash the bmx track when its wet...that stuffs concrete !

@@RedRoxRc nice! Yeah ill do that, 4s still looks like a blast. Coming from an xmaxx on 8s stock gearing your kraton looks much more playful which is what im after. I like the idea of it on 4s too, bit lighter, cheaper to buy a second round of lipos etc. Thanks 👍

How were your temps on that setup? Seems like a high KV for a big basher?
jondilly1974 I’m not really a 6s guy. This max8 combo has been in my old Kraton for a long time now. I even bought it used. Was in great shape but it’s gotta be 2-3 years old. I never ran it on 6s till today. And it’s basically the same car with just more exb parts and new diffs and my M2c chassis I already had. On 6s it was pretty fun but I need to practice more.
jondilly1974 oh and the temps got high quick. I did a check in the video. Motor was 180ish and esc 170 or so. So it was getting hot. It was also 90+ out so that doesn’t help. I was already considering some kind of bad ass fan. But honesty summer coming to an end. Just need to be careful. I’ve broken every fan I’ve ever had lol.

Thanks! My rear diff lasted about 6 runs and the internal gears got chewed up. Oh well. I added a V3 diff and it’s doing fine. I have LSD plates and gears to rebuild the diff but haven’t. It’s unfortunate about the rear diff. Can’t say if same will happen to you or not. However I personally am still 100% happy with the truck. It’s amazing. And yes I went through truck thoroughly before I ever ran it. Filled diffs etc.
@@RedRoxRc awesome bro. Yeh 6 runs is great of course people shouldn't have any issues with the diffs begin a extreme basher and it's not cheap. I'm sure you saw the new rebuilding differential video on arrma site for the EXB they fixed it. I hope to get those parts for free if I have a problem with mine.
@@paulrakis agreed. For the open rear diff. Add and extra larger shim. So there three plus one small under the sun gears. Should solve the issue if there was gonna be any.

That's pretty quick on 4s. 17 pinion will heat up too much on 6s. I have a 21 pinion but that's with a 1717 way more efficient. Gives me 90kph still with incredible torque still.
The 17 is a bit much yes. It did well but it was hot out and finally did overheat. For this setup a 15t might be more than enough 😃
@@RedRoxRc definately probably even 14 if your sticking to 6s coz you've got 2200kv that gives alot of speed but its torque were looking for hey.

TP motor, (crazy powerful)
and it backflipped on 15 pinion easy m hit around 90, but it still got hot so he dropped it to 12 and it still flipped and still plenty of speed for a big basher.
I may drop mine to 19 even though it stays pretty cool at 21, (1717s r very efficient) I don't need to do 90kph in a basher like this I might go down to keep it cooler n increase torque even more. It's crazy torque now.
My diff is locked with 500,000 I may need to drop to 100,000 if I drop to 19 pinion otherwise one touch and in flipping. I like to have the ability to backflip but only off full trigger it's a bit crazy having it flip even when you floor it doing 30 or 40.
What oils do you have centre?
@@POLITICALYCORRECTify it had 200k oil I think. After this setup I put a mad 6 with a 1680kv. So much smoother. 19t was ok. I have that in my outcast now. Perfect setup for the outcast. Some like larger KV n smaller pinion n think that takes off better.
Doesn't make much difference I think but I prefer the larger motors

Hallo Leute ich habe auch ein Kraton 6s Roller aber mit einem Hobbywing Max 8 150 Amp und 4268 mit 2600KvV HZ 50 zu 11 auf 4S ! Die Diff sind original! Keine Hitze auf 4S aber das EXB sperrt alles ich werde das 50 auf 46 HZ wechseln. Die Sperrung versuche ich auf 100000/150000 zu befüllen. Zur Info ich fahre mit 4S 8000Zee 1 Sunde mit dem 50 er und ich werde alle EXB mit Diff Beilagen also ohne EXB machen. Derzeit läuft er an 4S gute 80 KmH. Ich bedanke mich sehr fürs lesen und vielleicht hat ein anderer eine Idee. LG. aus Austria 🇵🇪
Stock rear diff on EXB or new plates
RCHOBBY282 this was stock open rear diff. The rear lasted me like 5 or 6 bashes before the gears gave. I am now running a V3 diff in the rear. Been great so far.

Mine came with the open rear diff. No, it didn’t hold up lol. It lasted about 5-6 bashes before destroyed itself. I’m still running a V3 rear diff and front and rear are LSD diffs. Thanks for watching!
@@RedRoxRc This answered my question. Oct 2021 now and I ordered a Kraton 6S EXB and I want the open diff in the rear (I know there is a shim fix for it now) and do a weight close to yours 50/200/20. I want to get the rear end to drift and spin so I can flip it around like you did in the park there when you were alone. I was told that the steering is a bit slow with the front LSD for turns but in THIS video you were able to drift and/or spin it around doing a 180 easily. Look forward to it plan to run 18T pinion but I will have fans on both the motor and ESC.
