I recently got the exb and man its insane fun, have a castle creations 1717 1650kv motor in there and a castle MMX 8s esc, its a beast.

@@RCunexttuesday Yeah man, just makes it turn into beast mode all the time. I love it. Not a thing has broken yet, not even the diffs, I checked mine and all was good. Just topped the rear diff off with some fluid and all was good.

It's looking like Arma tough guys,Billy nailing some trick jumps,I'm with James he didn't mean to do it haha. All round good car for half the price,is it a competitor to a standard Xmaxx. It's half the price of that too.
It is arrma tough so far, can’t fault it at all on this run!🤯 I think in almost any test side by side the xmaxx would come out on top, but this truck definitely has its place in our fleet, let alone others🔥🔥

I've been trying to decide between EXB and V4 rtr...haven't been able to determine a final price to get the EXB rtr.
In comparison to the stock RTR, you’ll be paying slightly more for the exb to get it running but it’s 100% worth the extra money imo this video explains why😅 and we also have another video of it coming up very soon!👍🏼

It's a Foxeer Box2 basically a cheap one that we don't mind destroying lol, looking at upgrading though because the inability to rotate the view does my swede in, makes editing a right pain🤣

Stabilisation is average tbh dude, not great but on the truck it definitely does the job! It's not the worst camera in the world but it is definitely far from perfect🤟🏼

How are the diffs holding up on the EXB? I have one, brand new, haven’t run it yet because I’m afraid of diff issues. Any recommendations???
My man, we’ve had no diff issues at all, only driven it twice now but both have been fairly harsh sessions... the only advice I could give without having suffered the issue is don’t use a stupidly powerful system🤷🏻♂️
Awesome vid! When I get my exb I probably will also get a max 8 combo for it and I was just wondering what pinion do you guy’s run on it? I want it to be fast for bashing on 6s, but I don’t want the motor to overheat too much.
We run stock gearing dude, ours gets warm but never overheats. Can’t go wrong with that combo tbh✌🏼

Wow.. The EXB got sent! It took a real beating & held up well. Thanks for the comparison fella's . Did you say you went through the R/Diff? I know the F/D & C/D with LSD plates have been ok I think, but few of the Rear open diff's had Shimming issues! Have a nice evening. 👍
We've had no issues with the diffs as of yet, I know it's a common problem though so we'll be looking to order the plate thing to be on standby but we haven't touched it as of yet! Take it easy my friend!
About 2 battery cycles it takes , way you guy play go with lsd in rear also , your skills getting better so you land on wheels more can enjoy more performance which givevyou more height ect

K3?🤔 You don’t need to overpower it to have fun with it, any old 8th scale system would be sufficient but obviously you might be lacking in power, the max8 seemed to be the perfect balance✌🏼

Personally, every RTR we’ve had has not been good enough to bash. The exb is another story and generally lives up to the standard, we haven’t tried the new gen RTR but we’ve bad experiences with them before and wholeheartedly stand by the exb👍🏼

That’s always a worry with newbies, it has its perks like you’d know more about the truck as you’ll inevitably have to repair it, but you won’t get that delay period to get comfortable before having to take it apart👍🏼

We paid 480 for the exb, system costs less than 200, servo and transmitter combo are about 30 between them

sell it buy an xmaxx better performance and save cost .... i put m2c chassis and then broke suspension.. upgraded suspension the broke diff housing... you will always chase breaks with the kraton till you spend 12 to 1300 dollars which is not worth it.

ALL THINGS FAST ours is now worth just short of $1200, and like you saw in this video it struggled from the pins. Other than the pins it was fairly solid and took some real abuse so depending on where you are and what you’re into, this would definitely have its place over an xmaxx in someone’s books✌🏼
@@RCunexttuesday ya if you want to spend more and still have breaks ive put 1300 ish into mine and still breaks got xmaxx never has a problem as you can see from my video i jump my xmaxx 60 plus feet and always good.. good looking truck the kraton and good for racing but as far as long jumps and bashing think thats a far reach
ALL THINGS FAST xmaxx is the standard to be met by bashers, but the exb has its place 100%🤙🏼

We’re on the pin situation seeing as they’re the only failure from this sesh, but the arms are already rpm on the RTR, stock on the exb did the job so well use them until they break😎👍🏼

I'm gonna be honest here. After owning the 6s Kraton stock and 8s Kraton stock. The Kraton 8s has been far more durable and fun for me. If I knew the future, I would have gone straight to the 8s Arrma line. Waiting on my Outcast 8s 👍

I’d disagree almost extremely with that dude lol, it comes down to each experience at the end of the day I guess, we didn’t have one outing with the k8s without it breaking🤯
@@RCunexttuesday Yeah. I don't send either vehicle more than 20ft and no skate parks for me. So on grass /dirt, with about a 20ft height, the K8S has been more durable for me. I have the V1.5 too, so that probably helps. The skatepark is left for the xmaxx and other plastic chassis rigs 🤣
If you had choice of one only.... Would it be X maxx or an arrma 8s? Can't decide between xmaxx or outcast 8s. Not convinced on whether plastic or metal will be more durable. Currently running kraton 4s and the plastic is holding up fine but not sure with such high power with the 8s.
Xmaxx ALL day, EVERY day. If you’re a relatively hard basher plastic lasts way better, especially if it’s solid flooring, the arrma was way underpowered out of the box, plastic was poorly made and the metal was also prone to bending - it has its place don’t get me wrong if you’re a Track kinda guy then I’d say get the arrma but we didn’t rate it at all

Well I think I have decided on the xmaxx. What batteries do you use? The traxxas are mega expensive. Was thinking using some sort of ec5 so I can use in kraton as well or maybe xt90. I assume I can use a convertor cable. What do you recommend?

Someone compared both cars with the same electronics the exb was doing backflips so much easier than the v4 i think it has to do with the limit slip diffs
Ours have a lot of differences, but in terms of what they can do bashing wise, the EXB more than proved its worth in our books!

No dude the money in the thumbnail is how much the car as an entirety has had invested. The EXB ~400 with ~200 electronics as the transmitter/receiver and servo are cheapos, the RTR has been upgraded to hell hence why it’s almost triple the cost of buying from new🤙🏼

Because our RTR version was absurdly upgraded so for a similar spec of aftermarket parts the exb was half the cost
No problems with the rear diff on the new Kraton so far? The only thing thats scaring me off buying it.
None at all, it was running solid. Can’t help but feel like the diff issues are from overpowering the thing🤷🏻♂️ could be wrong but ours has held up so far we’ll have updates in future runs chief✌🏼
The diff problem WAS real in the first batch.they put the wrong shims in the rear, but now this has been sorted out

EXB looks like a bargain. 200ish quid for electrics + some diff shims makes it only 100 difference to RTR. But EXB takes it. You guys find the best bash spots, top vid 👍

I've built up a silly expensive kraton 6s and all the upgrades just kill the performance with weight. Steering, braking, jumping. The future is gonna be in proper carbon fibre mods
Our kratons pretty durable, it’s only real failure here was the pins, It’s not particularly heavy, but can take a pretty heavy beating! I’m not entirely convinced in carbon fibre, we snapped a shock tower - justifiably, but the way that it snapped didn’t give me much hope... idk I guess they’d need to be tried and tested more for my confidence🧐
@@RCunexttuesday TBH even the thick 7075 towers snap. I've even bent a titanium one on my Typhon too. I think the carbon fibre that's available at the moment for RC parts isn't the best compared to higher grade stuff that they make top end mountain bike wheels are made from because they can take a ridiculous beating. Or maybe the cars of the future will be built from plastic chopping boards like the guy from Paddlesworth!! :-))

The EXB is certainly a step in the right direction, but you're still going to be replacing a 3rd of the car 😂
I mean I would agree with you, but this things proven itself now, multiple solid runs and we’ve replaced a couple of screws and a chassis brace which is still usable. The exb is now on our recommendation arrmas go to truck✌🏼
The exb comes with no electriconics there for It is half price and $1200 for a KRATON 6s!!! I can get the v5 RTR blx for only $900 on eBay brand new!
I’m not following you entirely here dude? The exb is always cheaper than the RTR because you’re not getting electronics? But you’ll end up spending more on the RTR in upgrades making it bashable, it comes full circle.

EXB differentials are complete garbage. Way too over hardened so they chip too easy. After 5 of them failing, i just switched them over to regular 6s diffs. No issues since.

The title and the thumbnail are both very misleading. The EXB is never $600 it's $649 and it doesnt even have electronics. So are you comparing a discounted exb roller to a fully upgraded rtr? Because if so i dont see the comparison. Either that or the title and thumbnail are a misleading lie.
Not worldwide it isn’t lol, your misinterpretation doesn’t mean it’s misleading my friend. all in our exb has cost us around $630, arrma released the exb as an answer to the upgraded rtr’s so what else is there to do than compare the 600 dollar exb to the fully upgraded RTR😉

The idea of this comparison is you can see that a $1200 upgraded RTR is very comparable to an exb which IS half the price of it
