Yeah, I enjoyed "13" as well. Granted it doesn't hold a black candle to their first six albums but it IS better than their last two with the Ozzman. Plus you also have to consider the questionable conditions it was recorded under: Iommi's lymphoma, Geezer's arthritis, Bill Ward's leaving over health problems (which he tried to cover up as a falling out with Sharon)... and while I know this above post wasn't much of a Rick Rubin fan I do have to admit his production was the REAL star of the album!

@Mr.Brenman21 I love Never Say Die; Junior's Eyes I particularly love. I know Ozzy says he hates it but he was in a bad place at the time, and a lot of those comments about Never Say Die are from the 80s when he never wasted an opportunity to slag off Sabbath.

From what I have read/heard, Savatages Fight for the Rock was actually pressured by the Producers to put out a "Radio Friendly" album. The Band even admits it Sucks.
Everything else from them is great.

    • @vinaymulukutla358

Savatage said the only nice thing about Fight For The Rock was getting to live in London during the recording process which they really enjoyed being guys from suburban Florida and London being a city with a population of 9 million must have been so exciting. There were a lot of heavy metal clubs and the band enjoyed the bars/restaurants.

@6:26 - I always preferred JP's "Jugulator" which is sadly not available on any streaming service / legal digital distribution, over "Demolition". I think the only two songs I like off it are probably "Subterfuge" and "Lost and Found". Though, with that said, it's not a terrible album imo, but not very memorable whatsoever.. and somehow, unlike "Jugulator", it's actually available digitally / streaming, kinda stupid.

    • @georgewalker3702

The reason Jugulator isn't available on streaming services is because the record label they were signed onto for that album went bankrupt.

I agree with everything EXCEPT Black Sabbath's "13". That album is slow and doomy for sure, but quite an interesting listen if you give it a chance. And I had totally forgotten how awful "Pure Instinct" by Scorpions was! I do remember my disappointment that it had WAY to many ballads and forgettable songs. And mirroring your story about St Anger, I too found a Metallica album in the trash once, but it was Re-Load, I took it home with me because I felt sorry for it.

"13" is a good album. Certainly better than "Never Say Die!" I really don't know why people rag on that album. Now, Ozzy's "Ordinary Man", that's a piece of sh*t! Iommi's riffs are as dark and doomy as always.

@@cybereus836 Yes. But I didn't buy the album because of him. Ozzy hasn't sounded good for years, only selling albums and concert tickets on past glories. No, my reasons are for Tony Iommi. His tone and sound are still rich, and he is very much the mastermind behind Black Sabbath. I would like to see him work with Tony Martin again some day, as the albums they made with Martin were great and underappreciated.

I'm curious, did you not like the legacy of the dark lands because it wasn't a metal album and the story element, or do you really not like the Lord of the Rings-style thematics, because Lord of the Rings and fantasy is their bread and butter. One of their most popular albums is called nightfall in middle earth, which coincidentally also had interludes. The only thing I can say about the legacy of the dark lands is maybe they should have branded the album a bit better because, as you said, it's not supposed to be a power metal album or metal at all. They differentiate the album from their main body of work as the Blind Guardian Twilight Orchestra because the lead singer is the only member of the band to perform in it. I viewed it as a pretty natural spinoff for the band because they already did a lot of symphonic things in their work already. Was the deal-breaker just the lack of electric guitar?

Bullet Train was an absolute crusher of a song...a super album. The follow-up "Demolition"...isn't even in the same room as Jugulator. Especially when considering the album that followed, "Shadowlife" is truly considered a terrible album. Queensryche's "Dedicated To Chaos" is infinitely more deserving of inclusion here as well. Pure Instinct is half good, half terrible. Wild Child, Stone In My Shoe, But The Best For You, When You Came Into My Life (there are bizarrely two versions, depending on what album you buy, but the first one is the better version). The non-heavy songs are absolute shit.

@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 I'm not looking forward to anything more from them. They should have retired in 2010 when they said they would (because that album was killer). My favorite band of all time, but they're well past their sell-by date, unfortunately.

Cool ranking terrible albums, i also agree with it. St.Anger is not a bad nor a terrible album, it's just not a thrash album by Metallica, it's more a groove/metalcore album. Therefore if someone listen & love these genres will love St.Anger. It's a 2.5 out 5 album for me. Stay heavy🤘

@@johnrife7134 Well it's true, according to Metallica's discography and standars is a bad album, so i agree. But as a metalcore/groove album isn't that bad. If you don't like this kind of music, i respect that too.

Thanks to Spotify I don't really own many terrible albums. Most of the bands I collect a lot of (Paradise Lost, Rage, Grave Digger) are also really consistent. When I don't get something from them (The Devil Strikes Again and Healed By Metal I skipped) it's rather because it's uninspired rather than terrible. I do own St. Anger... but did not find it in the garbage bin, haha. The most terrible stuff I have besides that is stuff I got by accident (there's a Limp Bizkit album somewhere...) or 'specials' (Remanufacture comes to mind, just terrible remixes of Fear Factory's Demanufacture).

I love Legacy of the Dark Lands and like 13, but otherwise, I can't really argue that much.
Demolition is an album I happen to own. Not getting rid of my copy cause it could be valuable eventually (Jugulator already is), but I'm not going to disagree with you.
