Thank you for this! I was having a 332 code come up and it too was a result of a broken vacuum line. Replaced it with a vacuum connector as you did and the engine light went off and has stayed off! Thank you again!!
The reason why you weren't getting any vacuum from the EGR line is because it's only requires vacuum when the PCM solenoid activates it. The EGR line doesn't have vacuum all the time man..only when required.
What I want to know is why does the solenoid have a vent. I got a truck that the evr is not holding vacuum and it is leaking out the vent on the top of solenoid. Does it vent until the egr is activated by the pcm ?
He is teaching them wrong. The procedure would be to test the control solenoid first to see if it is working because it will only activate at cruising speed to have the egr get vacuum. The way to test the egr is to pull a working vacuum line from somewhere else and see if the egr functions. If the solenid and EGR function then you need to replace the EGR position sensor. Unfortunately all 3 are problematic and it could be all 3.
@@gabugabu1976I replaced all three and I'm still getting code 33. When I run the vacuum test and I hook up my gauge to the egr, I tap the throttle and get nothing. Do you know a fix?
@@bobv8219I haven’t yet, I replaced the egr valve after confirming that it was getting vacuum and I’m still getting the code. What would you suggest I check next? Thank you in advance!
@@RackoSR ok bro I just took off the vacuum canister and found my vacuum leak it’s the canister. Underneath the passenger front fender are two nuts removed them to reveal a failure at the a on the mount side of the can. Actually pretty common it’s very thin metal.
@@RackoSR so I took the canister and put bathroom white caulking around the thumb size holethe wrapped electrical tape across the whole can , then put it back just connecting the vacuum lines and Bam no light and no money spent. Peace bro
