nothing is permanent these days. When corporate greed kicks in, you're screwed. I do hope this shit won't happen to Grid Autosport on Mobile. Many people including me purchased it when the title was still solely owned by Codemasters. But ow that Electronic Assholes (EA) owns Codemasters, I am so skeptical about the future. Lol. They might take a page about Filmic's books and implement the same subscription/cash-cow model.
Filmic Pro has, in my opinion, the jankiest user interface of all the «pro» filming apps I’ve tried, but I’ve stuck with it since most features where good and I didn’t feel like buying yet another camera app - but this move … Unless they make a much smoother and up to date User Interface and *tons* of new features constantly there is no way that price will survive - but it doesn’t surprise: The Developer, Bending Spoons, is the company behind Splice, which have a similar insane pricing structure, which is why I have avoided that app as well - Adobe Rush does more, for free, on the features I need (like 1080p export and no limit on music length, Splice only does 720p export and 30sec of music in free version) - if I got into full time film making or making some cash on filming I might consider it at around 4-5 usd a month, but for now this is a no go.
I’ve tried lots of apps and they all have their pros and cons but Filmic pro was quite stable. I just got an interest into wanting to make music videos recently and haven’t bought Filmic pro. Do you know any other video apps that shoot in apple pro res? Great video by the way :))
@@BenettGraezer thank you.. ok i have the iphone 13 Pro... Have you tips for "music free" or small price ? And can you make a Video about "lumafusion" ? is it great for filming ? thanks for answering :)
I was looking into this app since I’m just getting into creating videos. I wanted it for the AirPod capability to record through Bluetooth. Now I’m questioning what the easiest way for me to record audio is going to be?
G'day Benett, have you tried out Cinema P3 Pro Camera App? I'd love for you to do a review of it, and hear what you think of it. I've been loving it so far.
I second the Beastcam app, I think it's just as good as Filmic Pro just does't have the Gimbal support. But it isn't worth that price for just gimbal support.
Also, sorry to spam your comment section, this was a really good video by you btw :) But, as for Apple doing a pro camera/video-app … not too sure, because Apple makes money on developers making apps and selling them, preferably with subscription services, so Apple *wants* there to be better video camera apps made by others that charge a lot of money, cause that benefits Apple - Apple making a great video app would just cannibalize their own earnings, which is why even a «pro» apple video app might either lack crucial features for «pro’s», or in some other way be tied into their eco system, so that there will be a market for eksternally developed video apps.
For this amount of subscription I will not continue with Filmic and if it is possible I will continue to use version which I have bought as one time charge payment. I think that if some is “too much hungry” it will not pay of 😢 and Filmic team will see many cancellation of usage of this till now great video program. Thank you for another great video from your side. Alex
I am sure it has been said but... they offered me a loyalty discount down all the way to 1.99 per week and like $40 per year or something... but yeah... not going to cut it for me. So irritating. Especially when the majority of changes are cosmetic changes to the interface, no actual significant increased functionality...
Why are people this sitting down? Stand up for your rights. Under the terms of purchase in the App Store you bought a perpetual, license with upgrade rights. Demand it. I’m certainly doing that. When I bought it in 2015 they didn’t differentiate between updates and upgrades. That’s like a car dealer selling you a car and deciding years later they only lease and calling you up to say “hey, we need your lease fees now”. No way!
Yes I was thinking about buying this app but not for this price, the only problem with the native app on my iPhone 14 Pro is the lack of manual controls, Apple needs to step up when they call a camera phone "Pro" they need to have a ProCamera app, I absolutely assumed when I bought this phone 14 Pro that it would have a pro function for the camera? What gives? Maybe Apple has their hands in the pockets of third-party app developers?...
Their other option would be to release a new app on the App Store with a new name (like FiLMiC Pro 7.0) and sell it for a fixed price and perhaps allow IAP's to come over for previous buyers? Then the previous buyers could look at what's new in the new version and decide whether or not they want it. Like you, I hate subscription models. I think it allows the developers to be lazy and doesn't require them to innovate in order to entice buyers to buy the upgrade. I abandoned Adobe years ago because of it and went to all of the available Apple apps.
Any suggestion best App for Picture and Video editing? Trying to Make a Video Like Travel Vlog, but struggles is Real to make a good videos. Thank you for your Help bro.
Also, they are clearly stating in their statement that you are free to use the version you have for as long as you want (when they start with subscriptions) - which is just a REALLY dodgy marketing speach for «support and updates ends when subscription starts, even though you paid for an app with the understanding of it getting updates in the future» - this also means any new format support will not come to «your version» of the app, since you are cut off. They would have come out of this much cleaner if they would have just confessed to either «folks, it’s not sustainable for us to sell lifetime licences any more, we can either stop developing on filmic pro, and put all new features in the new Filmic Pro 2-app which you’ll have to buy fresh, or we can do subscriptions» or just plainly state «We want more money» - this approach they are doing now has been done by so many companies before that just bombed because of it :/
Looks like it would make sense to buy a camera. The overall savings are there now that flimic pro is canceling themselves out of competitively roping us in.
Yep! Wouldn't take that long to pay for a camera by saving the absurd subscription price they're going for. Looks like their goal is bankruptcy since they'll have hardly any subscribers at this rate.
The idea that Filmic Pro needed to shift to a subscription model is just BS. That’s just a talking point that Bending Spoons stole from Adobe. The owners that developed Filmic Pro sold out and the new owners see an opportunity to extort lifetime rental payments from users. They won’t get a dollar from me.
Unfortunately I think that the trend will be more towards prescription apps as we move forward.. I have a Samsung phone so I do have the pro photo in my phone, but I do not use it. I use MCPRO 24 which unfortunately is only for Android users. For me, it is much better than Filmic Pro. It is probably the most professional app for serious video work on a phone. I also think that Filmic Pro worked better on the iPhone, so I can understand the dilemma.
No one seems to be reading my update or commenting. Look for it. They posted on Twitter they're not going to force people who already own the app and its additional software add-ons to subscribe. Read my post.
I think most of us know that, but it’s not comforting news because we will eventually get forced into upgrading because they won’t support our older version of Filmic anymore.
@@johntaylor5473 They said for new software, not upgrades to the current one. But we'll see. At least for now it's useable. Don't like subscriptions either. They may be forced to drop all of this as mobile phone manufacturers themselves are improving their camera apps a lot. And there are other options. I think Bending Spoons/Splice have badly miscalculated what's up with this. Maybe when they look in the mirror they see themselves as Adobe.
The weekly charge really bugs me. If it were annual ($50), I would be more favorable toward Filmic Pro. Knowing that I'm throwing $3 away each week I don't use the app, usually because I'm just busy with other parts of a project, is another thing that adds stress to my life. I would like my apps to reduce my stress, not increase it.
There is a yearly annual fee I think and I saw on another video by the channel iPhoneographers that showed both the weekly subscription and yearly (or annual) subscription, which is $50
Maybe professionals who work and get money using the app may afford subscription modes, we, who are starting learning to create videos, this is a big problem :(
Muy triste. Personalmente uso filmic pro desde hace muchos años. Pienso que la suscripción debería ser para esos featured adicionales que por ahora son gratis. Ha sido una decisión muy radical por el new team de filmic pro.
I consider that Filmic Pro's decision to introduce the subscription to people who had previously paid for the application is disrespectful bordering on scam. Apparently I can continue filming but I can't download or export the files. What use do I have then? Very bad Filming Pro, I will not recommend it anymore and I will look for other options.
I still use the old version of FiLMiC Pro and I do love using it more than the other third party apps out there. Really sad that they moved to an expensive subscription model.
@@BenettGraezer Hello Bennet, thank you for your prompt response. Unfortunately Filmic Pro switched to Pro system automatically and I can't download my videos from my phone. I don't know how to make the change to the old system that I had in use. maybe you can tell me how to do it Thank you Adolf

Many people including me purchased it when the title was still solely owned by Codemasters. But ow that Electronic Assholes (EA) owns Codemasters, I am so skeptical about the future. Lol. They might take a page about Filmic's books and implement the same subscription/cash-cow model.
What other alternative to this app would you recommend ?
Agreed!
Bending Spoons obviously think they can perform the mind trick of getting us to shell out money forever for what we've already been using.
Plus, what about the money we paid ?????
I bought it for a 1time payment years ago, now it says I have to subscribe.
I bought the full version how can they change there mind after my purchase
I think many other applications will sooner or later transition to a subscription model.
I’ve tried lots of apps and they all have their pros and cons but Filmic pro was quite stable. I just got an interest into wanting to make music videos recently and haven’t bought Filmic pro. Do you know any other video apps that shoot in apple pro res? Great video by the way :))
Thank you so much for watching. Check out the Beastcam or Moment app both ar capable of using prores
And CinemaP3
Do you have alternative tips on what to use for videos and photos ? Or can you make a video for this ? Thank you :)
Check put Beastcam and Protake app
@@BenettGraezer thank you.. ok i have the iphone 13 Pro...
Have you tips for "music free" or small price ?
And can you make a Video about "lumafusion" ? is it great for filming ? thanks for answering :)
Check out youtube music library it comes for free
So, even if I already paid for the whole thing once when I first got it, now they're gonna keep charging me?
No you can use the old version still for free
@@BenettGraezer Thank you, brother. Awesome videos, btw. I'll be purchasing the course in a couple of weeks.
You’re welcome! Awesome see you inside 🔥
Hi! Great points! Can you make video on what other alternative mobile app we can use for photos and videos? Thank you! 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for your request, sure 👍🏻
I was looking into this app since I’m just getting into creating videos. I wanted it for the AirPod capability to record through Bluetooth. Now I’m questioning what the easiest way for me to record audio is going to be?
Check out the dji mic they are awesome!
Thanks for your advice bro, I brought the BEASTCAM apps one time payment of $1.99 and it works great. Bye Filmic Pro.
Should we use this or native camera app
Native camera
Wait, so I paid for the app and the cinematographer kit before they went subscription. Does this mean I still need to subscribe? Wtf
No you can still use the old version 6 without additional charge
So I paid the full amount and now I can’t use it unless I pay for it weekly. Any chance I can get my money back?
G'day Benett, have you tried out Cinema P3 Pro Camera App? I'd love for you to do a review of it, and hear what you think of it. I've been loving it so far.
Haven’t checked it out yet
I second the Beastcam app, I think it's just as good as Filmic Pro just does't have the Gimbal support. But it isn't worth that price for just gimbal support.
True
What will happen to those of us who bought the application and some presets? we will also pay the subscription
No you can keep the current version
Can you suggest to me an app for Android devices except Filmic Pro?
Sure check out protake app it awesome too 💯
Also, sorry to spam your comment section, this was a really good video by you btw :) But, as for Apple doing a pro camera/video-app … not too sure, because Apple makes money on developers making apps and selling them, preferably with subscription services, so Apple *wants* there to be better video camera apps made by others that charge a lot of money, cause that benefits Apple - Apple making a great video app would just cannibalize their own earnings, which is why even a «pro» apple video app might either lack crucial features for «pro’s», or in some other way be tied into their eco system, so that there will be a market for eksternally developed video apps.
Good to point! Thanks for sharing 💯
Alex
Thanks for watching, I absolutley agree. Sad to see that they are going that way 😢
I am sure it has been said but... they offered me a loyalty discount down all the way to 1.99 per week and like $40 per year or something... but yeah... not going to cut it for me.
I was going to purchase it, but now, not!
Sorry about the bad news :(
Their other option would be to release a new app on the App Store with a new name (like FiLMiC Pro 7.0) and sell it for a fixed price and perhaps allow IAP's to come over for previous buyers? Then the previous buyers could look at what's new in the new version and decide whether or not they want it. Like you, I hate subscription models. I think it allows the developers to be lazy and doesn't require them to innovate in order to entice buyers to buy the upgrade. I abandoned Adobe years ago because of it and went to all of the available Apple apps.
In India it costs 95 Rs. a week on Android, 1.2 usd approximately
Any suggestion best App for Picture and Video editing? Trying to Make a Video Like Travel Vlog, but struggles is Real to make a good videos. Thank you for your Help bro.
InShot 👍🏻
@@BenettGraezer hi Bro, i tried to edit using inshot but when everytime i post my Videos The is result Bad quality not really clear.
BEASTCAM!!!!! Yes! Much more affordable alternative!
I know, thanks for watching!
It depends on what I have to pay for a subscription and if they come with for me relevant updates. Until then I can still use version 6.
True 👍🏻
Also, they are clearly stating in their statement that you are free to use the version you have for as long as you want (when they start with subscriptions) - which is just a REALLY dodgy marketing speach for «support and updates ends when subscription starts, even though you paid for an app with the understanding of it getting updates in the future» - this also means any new format support will not come to «your version» of the app, since you are cut off. They would have come out of this much cleaner if they would have just confessed to either «folks, it’s not sustainable for us to sell lifetime licences any more, we can either stop developing on filmic pro, and put all new features in the new Filmic Pro 2-app which you’ll have to buy fresh, or we can do subscriptions» or just plainly state «We want more money» - this approach they are doing now has been done by so many companies before that just bombed because of it :/
Agreed! There approch is way to agressive, really sad to see that they are goong that route 😢
Looks like it would make sense to buy a camera. The overall savings are there now that flimic pro is canceling themselves out of competitively roping us in.
True!
I want a refund from FilMic Pro of the money I already paid for it in the beggining. I want to quit this and they suck from here on.
Trend… maybe. But let it be $15-20 per year - not $150+
It’s crazy
True 😢
Well.... goes I'm done with Filmic Pro.
Thanks man, very helpful
You‘re welcome!
Very Nice video. Like always. Thanks
subscription model should be called "cash-cow" model. hated this update. I paid for the app and the remote and now this?
There is a yearly annual fee I think and I saw on another video by the channel iPhoneographers that showed both the weekly subscription and yearly (or annual) subscription, which is $50
Please, a tutorial of Cinema P3 Pro Camera. Great App
Thanks is noted :)
Does anybody understand what is so amazing in that new version so guys from Filmic decided to take such crazy money?
Umm, PowerDirectorPro, I pay for the yearly sub, 1-time $37 fee, may even be half off now. Works plenty fine for me.
Thanks for your suggestion!
When the TH-cam tutorials dry up because the install base shrinks, they’ll revisit pricing.
At that point, it will be too late.
I agree! I will never pay monthly neither yearly.
Maybe professionals who work and get money using the app may afford subscription modes, we, who are starting learning to create videos, this is a big problem :(
Agreed!
Muy triste. Personalmente uso filmic pro desde hace muchos años. Pienso que la suscripción debería ser para esos featured adicionales que por ahora son gratis. Ha sido una decisión muy radical por el new team de filmic pro.
Agree 👍🏻
so now if I don't pay weekly I can't download anything? This is a scam they stole my money
I don't know how to make the change to the old system that I had in use.
maybe you can tell me how to do it
Thank you
Adolf
I have already paid for the app they can take their subscription and stick it.
Totally agree!
Nice sharing ♥️
Ja po prostu odinstalowałem z iPhone bo nie da się zapisać ani wyeksportować pliku. Nie rozumiem jak można sprzedać a potem zmieniać warunki po sprzedaży. Naciągacze!
Yeah it is a bummer
Agreed. I will no more use definitely this application…
It really breaks my heart to see that filmic pro is going that way
I have been using it but will not subscribe. What about Doubletake app?
The price makes no sense. It now also requires an internet connection to start the app, really "nice" out in the wilderness! Whay are they thinking? They never fixed the issues with the app either. Maybe it was purchased to kill it off.
Totally agree. Not worth it. They will be killing their business. I'm fed up of spending multiple 10 dollars a month on various stuff...
Agreed!
I’m not willing to go to a subscription model. I would be willing to pay a reasonable fee for updates, however everything about their subscription plan is unreasonable. 👎
True 😢
Looks like Filmic was bought out by another company, and then switched to the subscription model.
I cant believe. Just bought last week the app! Ridiculous :/
Yes 😢
I can’t believe £2.99 a week was even brought to a trial phase. Bending spoons who have acquired Filmic Pro are annoying a lot of current users. Risky tactic!
I have no idea were they are going with this but it isn’t a good approche. A sad day for filmoc pro users 😢
@@BenettGraezer Yeah. It’s crazy!
If they try to make me subscribe, I won't ever use it again
Truly cannot wait until apple drops the bomb on filmic now, the apple way
The end of filmic for me ❌💔
😢 I hope not
I bought this app three months ago and o didn’t even start using it smh
It is now 1.49 but still not interested. I will wait till they decide on a one time charge.
Well said!
Yes
This should be $10 bucks a year. $50 a year is way too much when there are more options out there.
The daily professionals among our batch of cats are already fully researching viable replacement app (s).
True
2 words: that sucks
I guess I’ll give it a chance to another apps 🤷🏻
I’m definitely going to stop using filmic pro.
It’s a sad time for filmic pro users 😢
@@BenettGraezer turst me it will be more sad time for them when they go out of business. A lot of this company want to get greedy and then they regret when people go on to other platform.
thats true 😢
