For real. Some of the best mixing I've ever heard on this type of heavy yet melodic music.
I love when a guitar player can play for the song and not just noodle over an otherwise wonderful piece. This gentleman has a wonderful approach on this track.

What a great song, great band, love this all around!! Anika is a terrific drummer, so much technique and feel. That groove is not easy to pull off perfectly, but she does!!

Wonderful complex drumming, style and rhythm changes at a superb level and four musicians that give you the feeling that it is so easy that they could tell you some jokes in between and still having fun playing. Simply phenomenal!

I love that it's recorded in front of an audience, are they asked not to move though? If I were privileged enough to be at this I would be bouncing around like I was on springs! I literally could not keep still watching this! Fantastic!

Many years ago I made several attempts to listen to jazz with with a more systemized approach. I started with Dave Weckl and literally ended there. I am not a fan of jazz and I really doubt whether I will ever be. As for rock-jazz fusion whether by Dave Weckl Band or here, with Anika Nilles, I just think we have a fine balance of a solid rock beat and a freestyle jazz explosion technique giving enough energy to not to fall asleep and explore the space in an elaborate way, just like in jazz.
