Probably my favorite track of Anika's. Loved the whole quintuplet lesson!
Damn: this kit sounds perfect! Love her snare touch: dead center and just let the stick hover about half an inch after the hit, to make it ring beautifully (if I am spotting it correctly)! Cymbals are just perfect between dark and shimmering - rest is pure killer!

Love it, so well done! In most of the music the drums are just there, but when you listen to Anika her drumming comes to life in the music in such a prominent awesome way! Usually it is the other way around most of the time in pop music and so on!

Beerus, the Destructor you do realize that the drumkit is mike'd and then mixed and eq'd? it's possible to achieve a similar sound live but when you record and edit adio any sound is easily achievable.
Tuninng the floor tom can be tricky, depends on what heads you have and what is the shells natural tune. idk if its false or not but i usually tap the side of the shell and listen what pitch it has and try to tune it close to it. If you want low sustain tune the reso head for instance an octave higher than the batter head. And the sound depends alot on the quality of the drum shells, even though you can get a cheap kit sound good too if you tune it right!
Something I love about Anika is how you can see how she improves and develops over time. She posted a new cover of this song with Tama, advertising their bubinga kit, and she's so much cleaner and conceptual, yet it's it been like a year since this video was posted. (Tho idk if this is a late repost but still!) Despite how amazing she is here, she's way more amazing now. And I find that inspiring and it pushes me to be that way as well.
