Ex 4 RTR 83 to 91 in Osnabruck we got gunfire (whisky/rum etc in tea) on Cambrai day from officers and senior NCOS when i was singley, same at xmas. When i was a pad (married bloke) we always had single guys round for xmas if not home on leave all the married blokes did it. Good times, my brother law is ex Black Watch.
