I have a very vague memory of watching this, possibly on Sunday nights in the late 70s early 80s. mmm Felicity Kendal still does it for me after all these years. I'd like to see more episodes of this.
Me too Caroline. There was another series on around the same time, similar storylines, the actress for the life of me I cannot remember her name, she was attractive with straight long blonde hair, do you recall it by any chance?
My first time seeing this. Never made it to Philadelphia area PBS as far as I know. For Miss Felicity, yes, I would have gotten into it. I know I saw the red-headed lady on Fawlty Towers once. However, I do not quite get the two younger lady roommates.
@@marymary5494 I always thought that The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd, with Blair Brown was based/inspired by Solo. Blair Brown does not have blonde hair, so it may not be the show you're thinking of.
I'd be eternally grateful to connect with the person, who in 2021, uploaded the entire 'Solo' series. As well as, 'The Mistress". I'm happy to buy the sets, if I can be pointed in the right direction. Should've downloaded while I had the chance...
@@adamlee333 Hi. I was pleased to see you enquiry about other episodes of Solo and The Mistress series; I have been searching for them too. I thought from your post 1 day ago that someone had supplied the info as you sounded very excited (I was too at the prospect) but sadly I still can't find Solo or Mistress. Are you able to tell me if they are on YT please? I would be very grateful.
Verna McKinnon Actually that's less of an issue than finding it. I have my computer set to play my PAL discs and my DVD player set for US. Just can't get any UK shop to sell it to a US based address. "Blocked due to copyright issues". sob
The Mistress (which I’ve been watching the repeats of on BBC Four) may as well have been a continuation of this. The characters are quite similar (though their jobs are very different). An affair with a married man would mean she’d still be “solo” most of the time.
I remember Stephen Moore playing the father in 'The secret diary of Adrian Mole aged 13 and 3/4'..very funny man. Elspet Gray..played Blackadder's mother in the first series of 'Blackadder'.
In the second season, Sebastian teaches her to drive. In this episode, she already knows how to drive. In any case, I loved this show when I was young and single and needed a guiding light.
I always loved Carla Lane's writings and enjoyed this show although I always thought Stephen Moore was miscast as Danny. Felicity Kendal was excellent (as always)
🤦♀️This is brilliant, but goodness at 30 I'd been divorced, remarried & found out I was pregnant with number 5. I feel old now despite being a young teen when this was shown.
I don't get what the pregnant knitting girl and her mate had to do with the story. I thought I'd accidentally clicked on another video half way through 🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
They're supposed to be the tenants who live below Gemma in the rooming house. What amuses me most, however, is how one of them appears to be in love with Boz Scaggs!!
I miss this kind of sitcom. Love Felicity Kendal. Thanks for sharing.

I used to love watching this show on public tv. I wish the DVD set would work in USA! Felicity Kendal is wonderful in everything she does. 😊

The Good Life, maybe

I agree!
The Mistress series 1 is on bbciplayer until Thursday 8 th February.
@@margaretmcgregor5686 As I paid for a VPN, I cannot thank you enough for your response!!! Bless you!

Loved this series. 😢😊🥰🙏🏻🙋🏻♀️🇨🇦💋
Seeing this episode made me buy the whole series on DVD. Love it.
Where? I've been looking for it for yeats!
I bought it on Amazon (UK).
I want to but it is region 2 and I live in region 1. Sad.

Anne Telesco Get someone who lives in Europe to buy it and then send it to you?

I remember having that Sting poster on the wall of the girls room, I was soo in love xx
Gosh I love Felicity Kendal she’s amazing!
My favourite garment, in this episode, is Josie's pink nightie; and my favourite hairstyle is Bernadette's side-ponytail.
It's hard to believe Felicity could be single for more than a couple of days.
More like a couple of hours!
She wasn't in real life
I remember Stephen Moore playing the father in 'The secret diary of Adrian Mole aged 13 and 3/4'..very funny man.
Elspet Gray..played Blackadder's mother in the first series of 'Blackadder'.
Moley!!!
He was also the voice of Marvin the Paranoid Android in the classic TV series from the 80s
I fell in love with Felicity when she was in Good Neighbors!
The Good Life?
Yes, that's the name of the series in the UK.@susansherlock6934
Hey i am from the usa. Do you know where i can watch more episodes of solo. I love this show.
TOTP was at its very best back in the early 80s ❤
Elspet Gray also did an epi of Fawlty Towers.
In the second season, Sebastian teaches her to drive. In this episode, she already knows how to drive.
In any case, I loved this show when I was young and single and needed a guiding light.
Me too, I loved it 😊
One of the most beautiful gals I've ever seen. Loved her in The Good Life
A pity she resorted to plastic surgery in later life...
I would never go back to a cheat!
I know! Her mom acts like it's no biggie. That's the one thing I found annoying about this show.
I don't remember this being seen in Australia at all and I was alive throughout the 1980s
I am in the USA watched on PBS in the 80s.
I always loved Carla Lane's writings and enjoyed this show although I always thought Stephen Moore was miscast as Danny. Felicity Kendal was excellent (as always)
Please can anyone tell me where I can watch all of the episodes of solo
This series has been released on official DVD. You can purchase all episodes legally.
loved her then love her now
It's a shame that all the dvd's of this are region 2 UK.
🤦♀️This is brilliant, but goodness at 30 I'd been divorced, remarried & found out I was pregnant with number 5. I feel old now despite being a young teen when this was shown.
RIP Stephen Moore.
The voice of Marvin the robot.
Wonderful☺
Until recently I confused Elspet Gray with Sylvia Kaye who played the mother in "Just Good Friends'
Lol Audrey Roberts From Coronation Street Is In It Lol :)
Its Audrey from cornation street.
I don't get what the pregnant knitting girl and her mate had to do with the story. I thought I'd accidentally clicked on another video half way through 🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
Sheran Walker they remind me of the liver birds
Rip Lady Rix, Elspet Grey.
I saw this year's ago on pbs, but I thought it was called gemma! Lol
Isn't that Iris from Greenclaws?
dvd is very expensive at amazon i'm poor
Listen I'm an American but even I know that those council towers were done away with. Weren't they? Collapse
This was 1981. Although, there's still some around.
The two Liver Bird copies in this are irritating. Who are the characters meant to be? They don’t seem to have anything to do with the main ones.
That's why season 2 is much better. They were written off by then, thank goodness. They didn't add anything, did they?
They're supposed to be the tenants who live below Gemma in the rooming house. What amuses me most, however, is how one of them appears to be in love with Boz Scaggs!!
Why isnt The Mistress on TH-cam

My dear sister.
Felicity is stunning as usual but as this series wears on it begins to wear on one. She started to move on but really hasn't.
Good comedy
This "women have to accept when men cheat" didn't age well
