Metallica are still great live, no doubt about that. But they were in their prime live from 1988-1993. Back then they just destroyed everything and everyone. The pure intensity and aggression especially of the Damaged Justice Tour - They don't come close to that today. Nevertheless, they are still one of the best live bands on the planet. But back then they were by far the very best.

When my buddy asked if I wanted to take a road trip to Montreal (from Hamilton) to see Metallica and "Pantera" I didn't hesitate for a second. I'm paying $400 for floors but with this sound and stage set up its going to be worth it.
Until It Sleeps is SUCH an underrated track. I'm so glad they're playing songs from Load this tour. Hopefully I get to hear this song when they play in Seattle next year!

Honestly with James having a super mature voice, sound quality improved drastically, and with a finger picked bass, Load and Reload have found their true essence in today's Metallica.
I think in hindsight, Load and Reload make sense in the evolution of the band. I think MOP, Load songs and 72 seasons all sounds perfectly fine together.
It don’t ever get the hate for Load, ReLoad, & Garage Inc. They are incredible albums! I know they’re different from their earlier stuff but people need change. I’m just glad they are actually playing stuff from this era besides Fuel and Memory Remains. 🤘
There are people who only like Kill 'Em All... there are those who only like the '80s albums... some add the Black Album to that... some people like everything through the '90s... some people hate St. Anger while some love it... and people feel strongly about everything since Death Magnetic. (I feel like DM, Hardwired, and 72 are a trilogy in some ways.) Point is, no matter where one jumps off (if they jump off at all), we should be decent to people who jumped off at another point, dislike certain albums, or never jumped off at all. Their music helps me to cope (to some extent, of course) with my depression. They have a lot of great songs about it, “Until it sleeps” is one of them. This, and the fact that they seem to be in a really great form lately, convinced me to buy myself a ticket for their show in a couple of weeks. I’m excited, and it feels refreshing. I’ve already forgotten when was the last time I was excited about something.

Load should be released in 2008, than everyone would call it great album. But in 1996 everyone was expecting AJFA2 or “Black album Revisited”. I love Lo/Reload at all. I think it has some shit (Ronnie and a half of Reload) songs, but mostly it’s great double album with count of great worldwide hits and one of best ‘tallica songs ever (Bleeding, Torn, Fixxxer)
it was a nice 70's rock and 70's heavy metal revamped approach, maybe trimming the bad songs and releasing the ones that were good in a double album, just ten and ten and the record would have been received differently.
This was my first ever seeig them live. I am so glad I finally got the chance to see Metallica themselves. And I am glad their are still on top of their game!

Was astonished to learn that "it" in the title refers to cancer James' mother was fighting while he wrote that song.
His mother was passed away in 1980, this song is from 1996.

Load should be released in 2008, than everyone would call it great album. But in 1996 everyone was expecting AJFA2 or “Black album Revisited”.
I love Lo/Reload at all. I think it has some shit (Ronnie and a half of Reload) songs, but mostly it’s great double album with count of great worldwide hits and one of best ‘tallica songs ever (Bleeding, Torn, Fixxxer)
it was a nice 70's rock and 70's heavy metal revamped approach, maybe trimming the bad songs and releasing the ones that were good in a double album, just ten and ten and the record would have been received differently.
That mans voice is just so powerful and so unique. Absolutely love
