Steve dusts off his Vampire counts and gives them another try, in a 2000 point Battle vs Quirk and his Orcs.

I understand why Steve was Ghost Charge blocking. But every time i see someone do it. Feels like it is a Cheese Rule trick and against the Spirit of Army vs Army combat..

Don't savage Orcs have frenzy and have to check to not charge? Also it makes them immune to psychology I believe.

I love seeing O&G on the field, but as soon as i saw the lists the outcome was obvious. This looked like a cheesy counter VC list imo. Lot's of chaff, ethereal and cheap units and then blasting them with magic. It also didn't help that the O&G player decides to throw his AP artillery into the cheap skeleton blocks, and flanks with weak low leadership units vs fear causing units outside of the leadership bubble. Still nice to watch guys but bringing a better O&G list next time would make it so much nicer!
Not only two turns in a row, he "remembered" forgetting curse of the years and backtracked it, using it twice in a turn. Should have been a good pointer on being something wierd!
What happened to those savage orcs in the beginning? Why were they removed?

Looks like an error during play, but they passed each test so it wasn't more of an issue than basic cocking up.
Yeah, never did happen so nothing changed cause of it, but was just unsure myself since they kept missing it lol. As a orc player I would never forget that my Black Orcs don't scare so easily xD

More savage orks in 15-20x no command very cheap and useful. More boarboyz and some night gobs with bows on foot. much more cost efficient than the spiders, for screening.

just one time please play a 4th or 5th edition fantasy game. it would be very nostalgic for me plus it would show people just how far fantasy has come. kinda miss dealing out cards in the magic phase
You forgot the buff from the corpse cart for casting invocation on it. I think it gives zombies always strike first.

And mabye take a look at the 9th age. It's a better, faster and easier game.

It's an abstraction to simplify the magic. You could also say you don't like it because orc bows and elvish bows are the same and that goes against the fluff or something like that. But I get your point.
Why did Steve charge them savage orcs!? There was honestly no need to do it at all, like come on.
You can only overrun after the first turn of combat. Savage orcs didn’t need to go into the second zombie unit

I see you managed to convince Quirk into playing a game of fantasy, unfortunately he didn't manage to break his losing streak, though.
I feel like Quirk just chose the wrong hobby, he seems like a great bloke but I've never seen so somebody so terrible at tactical decision making.

Ahhh~ No fantasy battle report without a bunch of rule mistakes, uneven dice luck and just as uneven armies.
In these videos, the Orcs always get their asses kicked and it saddens me. Aren't they meant to be more badass than this?

okay guys, i come to watch old wars once a week, this was a disappointment, steve is a good fantasy player and he should know better not to just use 1 ghost to stop his entire blackork unit, made for a really boring, one sided fight, give him a chance.
Another victory such as that and Steve would lose the war.

No, Razor standard just gives armour piercing. No magical attacks on either the banner or unit.
gw FAQ page 68 all attacks made by spells and magic items are magical attacks. the razor standard is a magic item
You don't attack with a banner. just because it affects the unit does not make their attacks magical. a magic weapon is a hand weapon or what-have-you that a model actually makes attacks with.
razor standard is a magic banner that gives all models in unit AP including heroes with magic weapon or a mundane weapon therefore it makes sense that there magical attacks don't it?
Just because the item is magic, doesn't convey magic attacks. For example, if you had magic armor, and that magic armor gave you +1 to hit, it doesn't mean that you now have magic attacks because you aren't attacking with the armor. Simply having a magic item doesn't convey magic attacks.
The banner specifically gives everybody AP, but because that's the magic property it has, not because it's being used as a weapon. If it said it gave magic attacks, you'd be right.
half the fun of whfb is the massive armies. when you use dice to represent the extra zombies, it's lame. If you dont have the models, you don't get them. If its just for ease, poor excuse. This isn't a normal battle. This is supposed to be a professional batrep. I expect more from you guys.
If you if really did skip Quirk's turn, I hope you guys own up to it in a future video. otherwise it just looks like poor production.
All all in all, thIs this was a less fun video for me. I hope this isn't an insight into future whfb reports, as they are my favorite content MWG puts out.

only old world fantasy players are bratty enough to constantly nag on miniwargaming for getting rules wrong on all of their videos they put effort into making to keep them happy........and they wonder why their game died.... they get age of sigmar rules wrong all the time and i still looooove their videos. They are cool people and have top quality editing, models, and tables.
yes they got rules wrong....but old 8th edition isnt that good of a game
