      Thanks Mike, It was a lot of work bringing them back but well worth it! The copper is on display in the kitchen and the big skillet we will be using sooner or later. Take care brother and catch up with ya soon!

    Sanding sponges might have been good candidates for the interior pan sanding.
    Very nice work on your projects.

    Both turned out absolutly amazing. My favorite is the cast pan for sure. You had it looking crisp at the end. Awesome work

    Hey !George vraiment deux très beaux nettoyage. La poêle en cuivre est vraiment superbe, c'est Madame qui vas être contente. La grande poêle en fer aussi est superbe, très bon nettoyage et protection parfaite. De quoi faire frire tout plein d'aliments. Du travail parfait.❤

      Thank you. This is a high carbon steel pan The same process as for cast iron. a bit of Crisco some heat and a lot of patience.

    Nice work on the pans George. Try salt and vinegar paste solution to remove the tarnish, & blackened areas of copper pams. The cowboy skillet looks awesome. Happy cooking👍🏻😀🇺🇲

    Nice job on the pans, especially the seasoning, it looked like it came out nice. You used a lot of elbow grease on the copper clad pan, looks like it will turn out to be a nice little wall hanging show piece.

      Thanks Terry, you can't beat good old elbow grease sometimes it's the only thing that will do the job. It was a battle to get that seasoning done but well worth the time and the little copper pan has found it's place in my wife's display of coppers. Take care Buddy and we'll catch up later.

    12:52 Could I ask for some homemade pan fries, cornbeef hash and eggs in that big pan? Seeing that big pan seasoned that well I think of my mom when she made the pan fries, the hand ground cornbeef hash and the double yoke fried eggs! Oh Yummy!

    Nice job on both pans. The long handle is my favorite but the copper looks great. You should cook dinner on a video using that Big pan. Real good Job George. Stay dry.

    Looks as pretty as a brand new penny the big skillet looked like quite the job but you got it well worth the effort you put into it easily saved yourself close to 100 dollars cooking utensils are not cheap thanks for sharing brother

    Well George you taught those pans a lesson. That carbon really sticks to copper. I've found when using oven cleaner I'll coat the pan, come back and recoating it before trying to scrub it. But it looks like that stuff was fused on there pretty good so maybe even that wouldn't have helped. I think the oven cleaner is similar to paint remover. That bigger pan came out really nice! That rain coming through like that is the same kind of luck I'd have.🤣 Great outcome and great video! Stay frosty, more hot weather coming up.

      Mike,Mike,Mike! Thanks for the oven cleaner tip. I don't use it a lot. the can said no fumes so I don't know if they have changed it. Man, It was seriously sunny the whole day until I lit that fire..we even lost power that day for 4 hours and I swear every time I would put that pan on it started raining again! Ya hat and muggy this week come on Fall! Take it easy and keep cool brother.

    Hi George - you did a great job on those pans, especially the Cowboy Pan. I'd love to find something like that here in England. I like Cast Iron Pans and have 5 or 6 now. I buy them in a disgusting state, and my sister says I'm crazy - UNTIL she sees the result of a Caustic Soda bath and a good seasoning. I wouldn't use any other type of frying pan. Use it, rinse it in water and wipe it out - done ! Great video, as always George - thanks for sharing. Take care 🙂

      Hey Michael Thanks! I bet you find some real old beauties over there! We love old cast iron and have a large collection of it.
      I have a piece that I need to do. If I don't film it I'll be sure to show it before and after. It's a nice old kettle. My son that is getting into cooking has found his go to cast iron skillet and no one else is allowed to use it now! Take care buddy we'll catch up later.

    I got a little scared when the wire wheel came out but I had faith. Great job on both and nice to see you get a helper occasionally, the only help I get is from the spiders in the shed and they mostly just glare at me! 😁

    Great video brother. I was blown away with the transformation of the copper pan, then you whipped that big one up on screen, amazing. Who paints a frying pan. I still say you need to season a vise on that fire pit!😂😂

      Thanks Fred G! I messed up and thought oh this will be a quick and easy project to get done..But it really was a battle to get that copper to shine again. I am super happy with that big pan especially with all the set backs with the rain. Who knows maybe I'll bring a vise when we go camping..Camp fire vise🤣🤣

    Nice restos, and I like kitchen-related content. BTW, over cleaner works better on warm-to-hot (but not smokin' hot) stuff. Beware the fumes though, they are wicked. Best done outside if possible.

      Thanks Eric, I don't use easy off very often so thanks for the tip. I think they changed it since the can said no fumes and it wasn't as bad as I remember it being. I kept my shop door open and had a fan blowing. I'm glad you liked it.

    Elbow grease and patience made those pans look great. My wife inherited her mother's Revere Ware copper pots and pans. Really old, but still work great. I don't know if Revere Ware is still made.

    I never would have thought to sand the inside! I would be worried about the wire wheel on the outside if its a knock off copper plated not copper clad. So are you going to cook bear steaks next in that camp frying pan?? have a great rest of the week brother

      Hey Patrick , I figured why not sand it? I kinda knew I'd be safe using the wire wheel on this one. It's a good quality pan. I don't know what we are gonna cook. We go camping every fall so it might make an appearance then or a fish catch and cook or breakfast in the back yard. But for all the work it took I should use it everyday. 😁.     Well the second pan cleaning option with the wire wheel is the way we wash up in my house George , when the wife's finished cremating I mean cooking ...... Love the real hands on , black hands when finished on the first pan ... That's what real restoring workshop hands look like !! Both came out exactly right for each Ipan , love the shiny but the big one wins for me !

    Was the black on the larger pan the remnants of a Teflon coating? Also, I am not that experienced with the finer grades of sandpaper, but wondering when wet sanding is appropriate over dry sanding. And do the Harbor Freight finer grades hold up well when used wet?

      Hey Brother, No it was high heat paint.
      Wet sanding is good for getting a mirror smooth finish, On this project I was looking for more of a satin finish. so I dry sanded. I hope that helps. I don't like the harbor freight paper dry or wet. I won't be buying it again.
