I can see why the first one was an issue. You did what I use to, which was you would tighten some of your stitches too tightly while a few were loose. Creating a kinda lopsided piece. Glad to see the finish the results. You improved greatly since the first one. Super proud of you!
I would do something similar so when i started to crochet i didnt want to use any tutorials so i tried to do it alone and since i didnt know what i was doing instead of making a slip knot i would just make a knot and so that caused it to be tight
Cute! I would personally go back to the 1st and 2nd top and add a ribbed edging on the bottom that's a bit tighter than the bust, but if you like it the way it is that's cool too

That’s just rectangles seen together darling... just grab a jumper that u like fitting or a top and take the size of the front panel. Remember and do it a bit less wide as it will stretch. Do two rectangles the exact same width as each other from top to bottom and see them squarely onto the two rectangles leaving holes for your head and arms to go through. Then just use any coloured yarn you like... 🧡
Without knowing what your doing. I can say if it's the mistake I made when I started. Look for the v in the chain stitch. Basically when you pull the stitch after turning. You'll see 3 strands of string in each stitch. One may seem not like the others. The other 2 make a v. Go under both. Chain stitch is the hardest to do. If you only grab one strand then you will probably get a rib stitch. So make sure you go under both.
I started crocheting a year ago and I personally don’t wear clothing made from yarn but I love crocheting for my anxiety so I started making tops for my niece but she really blossomed and it was hard to find appropriate summer patterns for bigger chests! I think we tried 2 and said nah, let’s stick to cardigans, accessories and a ton of other stuff. Haha
