  • When I ride more than 30 minutes my back side feels like it is on FIRE 🔥. I purchased the Authentic Royal Enfield Touring seat and in this video I show you how I installed it. After install I take it for a ride and see what my first impressions are.

I fitted the touring seat on my bike at 500 miles at the time it was less than £100 ($120) in the UK and it for me is a worthwhile upgrade as it is firmer and more comfortable (the stock seat the padding compresses and it felt like I was sitting directly on the base after 50 miles) . I would also recommend the comfort foot pegs they allow you to move your feet a bit to relieve the cramps . I have had over 9000 trouble free miles with my bike in the last two and a half years with the exception of the rear indicator lenses fracturing where the screw goes through. This I have put down to Royal Enfield employing a gorilla to over tighten them at the factory as since I replaced them I have had no problems but l do have a couple of spare lenses (£5 each) just in case. My first service cost me £150 as it is a valve check along with oil and filter and check over but I have seen people paying over £200 and less than £100 as there is no set charge .

I've got a Meteor 350 recently, and the seat feels too soft; perhaps will buy the touring seat. On the bicycles I prefer the Brooks saddles, and had similar sturdy leather custom seat on my HD Sportster, but the original Enfield seat is more or less ok, at least for an hour or so. Thanks for the review!

If you have interest, I live nearby and purchased a Triumph Scrambler 400x ($7200ish out the door). Can do a comparison if you like

I purchased a pre-owned 2021 RE Meteor 350, which came with the touring seat for rider and pillion. But find the rider's touring seat to be a bit hard, but it does look good with the stitching, :-). Enjoyed your video. Cheers.

Thanks for sharing! So far I like the touring seat… but I haven’t had it very long. Time will tell.

That seat looks great! I've been hemming and hawing about buying the touring seat for my Meteor 350. After watching your video, I'm calling the dealer tomorrow morning and ordering one! Thanks.

My touring saddle arrived today and I installed it on my Meteor 350 after work. Your video was a massive help and spot on in its directions. Unfortunately, it started raining just about the same time I got done. So, I didn't get a chance to try it out. I'll do so tomorrow after work. I did sit on it and my initial reaction was, I seem to sit a bit lower and I seem to sit just a smidge further back. It feels as though I have to reach a bit on the handlebars. Also, the cushion is definitely firmer. I'm anxious to try it out. I'll look forward to more of your videos. I've lived in Texas for 30 years but I'm from Western PA, just across the state line from Youngstown, OH. I like watching channels like yours because I miss that part of the country. Thanks again.

I got the classic 350 but just setting on the meteor I found it to be very comfortable. Thanks for the video, keep up the good work

Although on your Meteor you have to take the rear seat off to get to the bolts on the front seat, that's a lot easier than the seat on the classic. You can get the rider seat off on it's own but getting the bolts lined up to put it back on, or the low seat that I put on mine, it took some persuasion to get the rear bolt back thru the frame.

Hey, Cliff ✌️ You might want to remove those black plastic shipping covers (left & right...just in front of the handlebars) on the front shock end caps to reveal that shiny chrome. None of the RE dealers seem to be aware of this minor detail. I rode around for almost a year with mine on before I learned about it on a YT video 😂
I'm curious to hear your take on the touring seat. I've been thinking about getting one myself for a couple of years now. Cheers 😊

Oh my 😲. This is the equivalent of driving around in a Dodge Challenger with the yellow protective shipping guards on the front air dam 🫢. Thank you kind sir for bringing this to my attention!! I have removed them and we will all move forward trying to forget this ever happened!
