For quick part, if you type the name of the template - in this case DEMO and tab it will also populate the template - I have been using quick parts for a couple of years and in my line of work it is vital for email consistency and resource sharing especially in a mass platform.
Help! 😢 Even with all functions visible, I don't have nearly as many as you. Neither templates nor rules. Also can't set default for new mails to be sent from another account. (The other account is set up, but I need to manually switch the sender countless times a day.) Any ideas?
are the templates able to sync with multiple users if they share the same OneDrive? Meaning If I update a template will my coworker see the updated template?
Outlook and OneDrive are designed for individual use, if you're using the same email address it should sync but if you are using your own login's it won't
For some users looking for this function now (Oct 2024), I had to click Apps and My Templates was there. You can right-click it and pin it, but it just shows as an icon with a page with a lightning bolt on it under the Insert tab.
Does anyone use templates in outlook email? It's the end of a long day here and I'm a bit tired, but I can't think of when I'd ever use one of these. Can anyone provide examples of useful templates?
of course! But not in this rudimentary style. The new outlook don´t have this function but in the old one, an whole email header with autofunction like date or a table with formatting is created. So you can send emails with a certain look.
I use the template to send repetitive information such as "Your order has been shipped", New purchase order (I only change the number) and the attachment. They are used for simple emails that can be direct and not "personalized"
Auto-date? Or any field functions which where there in the normal quick parts in Outlook classic? What you do IS NOT how to use quick parts, you simply sell the functionless templates of the new outlook.
Thank you Aldo - I have been looking for how to do it in the new Outlook!
Aww glad it helped!!
I don't have the options for quick parts or templates....how do I get them back? Also, I don't see the option to go back to the old version.
me too :(((
