As a Mac user, it’s very surprising to me that the new Outlook on Windows is basically a wrapper around the web version whereas the Mac version is a native app.
@@Matt-Gibson, try visiting the web app and installing it as a progressive web app. There are a few things it can do locally. I believe Outlook for Mac will eventually be the same as New Outlook.
I hope you can make a video about how a department manager or a small business GM with 20+ employees, should use Teams, Loop, Planner, List, OneNote, Sharepoint, OneDrive, & MS Projects altogether in day-to-day business operations. Especially for teams that want to maximize their MS365 subscription. These tools are great, but they kinda feel overwhelming and redundant when under a single product suite. There are tons of overlap among many of them. And it doesnt help that MS would just let their users figure out themselves. how to use these tools together.
Your wish is my command! There's a new video on our channel which I just published, to help answer your important question. Thanks for the request too 😀
Thanks for this. Is there any way to change the shading on the message preview of an unread email ? It used to be shaded blue in the old version to differentiate from those you have already opened. Now it's a very light gray - really no difference. I see they recently added a dark gray line on the left side of the preview, but it's barely noticeable.
Hi Scott, thanks for the informative videos, they are a great help as I migrate from Outlook 365 to the New Outlook. My biggest question and concern is that in Outlook 365 I set up numerous folders and Rules so that when an email arrived, it would be filtered into the specific folders. I receive numerous messages every day and the Rule to send those emails to folders saves me a lot of tie every day. I carefully watched your 'Categories' segment, but that takes manual movement. Is there anyway in the New Outlook to transfer the Rules that were used in Outlook 365 to automatically filter emails I receive into my folders? Thank you.
Also, I have a few different Signatures I use at the bottom of an email which I used to just have to 'right click' over top of the default signature in my email. Is this not possible any more?
I can’t find the conditional formatting option for the calendar that was in the old outlook And also the option to recall an email and edit it to resend simultaneously Would love to know if those option are still available in the new Outlook
How to set up a 3rd party alias (that wasn't created in Outlook but by a domain/email provider) in Outlook? I can only add the base email (that the alias feeds to) and not the alias itself. The client want's to send from the alias. In Windows Live Mail it was possible to have a separate username from the email address.
Thanks Scott, very useful tips. How can I save attachments from email save directly in a SharePoint site. Currently it shows only save in OneDrive. Is there any tip you can suggest?
In the old Outlook for Desktop, I created folders for all my projects. When I replied to an email that resided in that folder, the newly created email would stay in this folder. I cannot figure out a way to do this in the New Outlook. Is this possible?
Hello! In the old Outlook, we could delay sending all emails by 1 to 3 mins. I only see the 10 sec delay now. Is there a way to set all of our emails to be delayed by 1 to 3 mins in the new outlook?
Thanks Scott. Brilliant video as always. Here's a future video suggestion - Microsoft Copilot Sidebar on Microsoft Edge. I think this will be awesome as there were a few significant changes these couple of weeks.
How do I open the PDF in outlook? I can scan to myself but when I need it to open in adobe it won’t work. I have to download the document and then go to adobe
nice tips. however, new outlook is still lacking in the basic options department. lets say i want to share a word file from within word. it's trying to send it throw old outlook, and because the old version does not coexist with the new one- it doesn't send the mail!
i`ve been missing emails because i cant send or receive emails in worthless Outlook New, ive talk to at least 4 microsoft tech. and even after they took control of my pc they couldn`t fix the problem.

You can! Go to your sent items folder and double-click the message you want to recall. This pops it out into its own window. Now you will see the options to Recall message and Resend message in the ribbon. 🙂
Hi Scott, Do you know how I can change my account display name? It currently shows as my email address and I would like ti change it to my business name. Also, I want the recipient to see my name when they receive my emails, not the email address. Please help.
This is using Outlook for Windows, although it’s the Microsoft 365 business version, which is a paid version. These features are also available for Outlook on the Web, but with a paid Microsoft 365 Subscription again 👍😄
Still castrated app. Not able to turn off autodownload links/images, trackers etc. in IMAP accounts is huge security flaw and showstopper for changing.
These might be good tips but New Outlook is terrible, I cant believe Microsoft would allow this to be launched missing so much functionality - I have run it for about 3 months now and have reverted back to classic Outlook and the only feature I am missing is the ability to pin messages in Outlook. It drove me crazy that the spell check is now left click(never mind that the rest of Windows/Office is right click), you cant attach a file from excel or word, you cant open a PDF in Adobe unless you download it first.
Where are labels? How do I easily access folders? Why can't I change the name of the account? Why can't I show a different email address to my recipients? Why does this "new" program miss features that are available on all other email clients for years?
It's really not great this new Outlook. Limited functionality and layout. Rulers? SPell check is b*tch.. I can continue, but especially resetting settings are driving me nuts. Want to switch back, but then I have to reinstall all my work accounts .. ooooh the horror!

@@DarrellaaS Good point. I did that a while back and I removed it for a reason I can't currently remember. I'll give it another shot!

Thank you for this Scott, it helped a lot. How do I create an out of office/auto reply please?

I have 3 accounts G Mail, Outlook and Bigpond. How do I view all in boxes 1 combined in box. Cheers
Very helpful - thanks, but what's happened to the 'from' feature (now seems to list a-z rather than the address you highlight

Old outlook has command to collapse all mails together. how to do it in new outlook
I can’t find the conditional formatting option for the calendar that was in the old outlook
And also the option to recall an email and edit it to resend simultaneously
Would love to know if those option are still available in the new Outlook
To recall just select the email you want to recall and the opción appears in the ribbon.
For conditional formatting go to Settings > Mail > Conditional formatting.
That booking of tasks is a game changer..
How do I copy multiple attachment files and paste them to a local folder on my PC or to another email ? In the old Outlook you could do that

The new outlook won't let you recall and resend emails. I reverted back to the previous version because of that.
