In the first session of my full arm tattoo, I left my tatuderm for 3 days and removed it in the shower. As a result, my tattoo was still fresh and healed late. In my 2nd session, I left my tatuderm for 5 days and removed it by stretching it a little. I pulled it without getting wet and the result was better.
You know how you remove command strips by pulling the strip down against the wall before you pull it off the wall? Do the same thing with adhesive bandages. Makes a huge difference.
Got my first one yesterday, finally had something meaningful enough to go. Still was heavily second guessing and doubting until we left the house. So glad
How often did you change the wrap on the tattoo ?? I just got a big arm piece yesterday and tattoo artist said to keep it on 4-6 days I was wondering if I should change it
@@valeriemathurin8598 what do I do next? I was told to wash with lukewarm water without soap. But the day after do I just use tattoo balm 3x a day? Do I wash it with special soap?
I did not wash my tattoo properly because it was swell on the stretch marks..now there are the blood clots two or more on the next day ..will they go away? My tattoo got ruined?
As someone with 95% body coverage I can swear this is the best aftercare you can really use, keeps it clean and keeps hands off, most studios are just too stingy and this is a pretty expensive and unnecessary expenditure for them when they can just smack some cling film on for 1/50th of the price.
Normally I just leave it on 4 days then use aquaphor for a couple weeks never had a problem. Just putting it out there. But I also don’t have to deal with the sun im in Minnesota lol
Really? I work out the next day 🤔 why is it bad to work out? Because of risk of infection? I've got 2 shoulder tattoos done and haven't had an issue yet
Hi, just asking as I'm getting my tattoo next week. Some people say that they take off the sanederm/ 2nd skin after 24 hrs wash then reapply. But my artist said leave it on 6 days then remove. Is it totally ok to leave on for 6 days?
i just got my first neo realism portrait tattoo and it's a colored one i love it it's been day 2 and it was itchy a bit yesterday while in the saniderm, btw what do you think of places that don't use saniderm, my tattoo parlor for my first three did not put saniderm just that bandage and it wasn't a color one and they forgot to give me instructions on aftercare
Try the view guard on for a week and you’ll see the difference. Letting it dry will cause you to peel way more. This is the same as how technology has improved, tattoo after care also has.
I only have one tattoo, outline only in fact, but we never did any wrap over it. Was told to just keep it clean and moisturizer couple times a day, keep it clean and covered but no wrap! Interesting how didn’t shops do things differently. Never had an issue with being dry or any issues. I need to get it finished and want more still!
For sure everyone does it different. This way worked out really well since both my tatttoos are so large with so much ink. Whatever works for everyone as long as the end is great!
What happens if I remove it before the week only a couple days short. I wash it 2 times a day and apply Cetaphil only. Artist said no need to apply ointment. Any comments?
Sup SmurfinWRX im a new sub, just want to know what would you recomend for a evil/anime tattoo im planning to get Ichigho's mask on my bicep but i want something really awesome for my back and also i have a 250R zontes in green but i want to do an anime memorial on it if you have any ideas i would love to hear from you.
What did you do to get it out? And how did it affect it? I took mine off yesterday but I have so much sticky residue left on my arm. I got a half sleeve done and left it on for 3 days
@@xXGuinacXx sorry my english is so bad i deleted my tatu-derm on day 5. Most of my tattoo remained sticky, I gently washed it with antibacterial liquid soap 2.3 times a day and applied pure Vaseline 2 times a day. It came off slowly in 5 days. It didn't hurt my tattoo.
Next time you remove it - you should be in a warm shower - for quite a few minutes (at least 15 mins) - and then start removing it in the shower. It will come off a lot easier and with less pain! Very nice tattoo! Love it! 👏🏼 💞
Wilbur Kinstrey getting my first tattoo(a half sleeve) on the 10th and even my artist suggested it, plus i work in a nursing home so this was my best option
@@SmurfinWRX I'm sure it is, that's just how I feel maybe cuz I see all the scab and ink on the plastic after removing it . I personally don't like that method
Just listen to your artist. Mine has me change it after 24 hours then I wear the 2nd 1 for 4 days. Realistically if you get it you'll want to wait longer to take it off because it makes aftercare very easy, you don't have to wash it multiple times a day or apply moisturizer. But after you take it off you have to go back to cleaning and moisturizing
I remember the first time I got a tattoo and I took off my saniderm too early I guess. I fainted lmao 😂😂 and felt hella dizzy after and asked my bf to grab me a coke.
I’ve heard the best thing you can do is to just wear it the tattoo bandage for 3 days and let it breath afterwards with ointment to keep it moist. Your skin dries out way too much when leaving it for a whole week
@@craigymuzz9954 no you still wanna wash 2x a day and moisturize after patting dry. So I’d say do a mild fragrance free soap, in my choice the liquid Dial Gold hand soap. And moisturize after.
Do your research punk. Saniderm wrapped on the tattoo for the first initial week does all the healing. "keeping it moisturized" is old school tech that ruins tats.
Do this in the shower. I couldn’t because I didn’t want to take you into the shower lol. I took one for the team.
SmurfinWRX lol you could have still went into the shower and not be naked 😂

Dude I had heart bypass surgery and the tape didn't stick that good.
The tattoo bandage will only adhere strongly on dry, non-moisturized, bare skin.
Bro that tattoo looks awesome. Your artist did a great job
Thank you sir!
Bro, take a warm shower before hand it it comes off literally pain free
How often did you change the wrap on the tattoo ?? I just got a big arm piece yesterday and tattoo artist said to keep it on 4-6 days I was wondering if I should change it
Nah keep the same one for 6 days and then remove it in the shower.

One week my tattoo artist said but I’m taking two weeks 😕
Make sure your tattoo heal correctly

You can take the wrap off as soon as you get home and just dry heal it
Yes u can but that’s not how this is done. I’ve talked about this so many times already
SmurfinWRX there are many different after cares for tattoos man, personally i did the dry heal,
Try the view guard on for a week and you’ll see the difference. Letting it dry will cause you to peel way more. This is the same as how technology has improved, tattoo after care also has.
Did you replace it after 24 hours and then cover it again
You should also pull downwards over the bandage not upwards.
Dude....you're supposed to take the Saniderm off in the shower. You should never be peeling it off like this. EVER.
M Zap right I made sure to let water 💦 hit it
You can take it off dry, it just makes it easier to use lukewarm water to soften it up
It's water proof so water don't help

Took mine off a few days earlier than I meant to and just using cocoa butter after a daily wash. So far so good
I dk I feel like it has to much adhesive I got a different type of bandage and it seems to work better I change it every 24 hours tho
Looks amazing! Getting my upper thigh/ hip done. Thanks for the tips on aftercare 🤗
Aye! Just got mine done
Brother after u got tattoo u wash it and then u put the wrap??den remove after 1week?? It will not remove even u get shower before a week?
How long do you keep it on after getting the tattoo
Up to 7 days I hear
Do you leave it on for a full 7 days?
"ever thought you'd be watching an asian man lotion himself up?" No I didn't XD
If you hold down the skin that’s being pulled up by the current piece of saniderm you’re removing it doesn’t hurt as bad.
Apparently ya gotta take it off top down. I'm taking some of mine off omg hurts when ya take it off. It's best to take it off in the shower.😊
i normally keep mine on for 24 hours and clean it
Use unscented lubriderm lotion works great
I’m taking mine off rn from my thigh and I almost passed out don’t even have 1/4 of it off 😭 but my 8hr tattoo sesh didn’t faze me

Soapy water and shower helps a lot. Take your time.
A week with the wrap on??
Yea I talked about this in many other videos
Makes 0 sense
James McDonald ok thanks
James McDonald you’re literally 12 you can’t even think about getting a a tattoo

I let the running water of the shower help with pulling it off
