    Your procedure worked for my 2000 Accord 3.0 V6. Had a P0401 code- EGR port blocked. After cleaning it out, engine would surge when cold. Summary: all electrical off; ignition on for two seconds; started engine and held at 3,000 rpm’s for five minutes; waited for fans to cycle on twice; turned on AC and allowed to idle for five more minutes. No more cold engine surging. I had not disconnected the battery first. Thanks!!

      @@emmansmunoz7509 The purpose in holding the engine at 3,000 rpms for five minutes is to warm the engine to operating temperature. The fans coming on, then off, twice is evidence that the engine has warmed up.

    If you have cleaned the throttle body (TB) and have this issue, you have to reset the throttle position in the ECU first. The ECU stores the value of your idle position probably when the car was new and over time it adjust the value for the amount of air coming from the throttle. Overtime the carbon buildup restricts the air flow due to which the ECU opens the throttle slightly more for the engine to idle properly and not stall. Now after we cleanup the throttle body the carbon buildup is removed but the ECU doesn't know it. So when you start the car, ECU opens the throttle to previously compensated value which lets more air to enter the intake hence engine runs at higher rpm.
    For this reason the value has to be reset by using a bi-directional OBD2 device. This is the only effective way to solve this issue. By the way just removing battery does not mess-up the throttle position and the method mentioned in this video hasn't worked for me.

      How if we don't have the device to reset the idle after cleaning the throttle body? Will the car relearn it automatically?

    • @someone1089
      @someone1089 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@peedosalim2922 well, some people say that there is a specific sequence you have to perform to reset and re learn the throttle position, but I tried it myself in my Honda Odyssey, but it didn't work.
      The only thing that worked is buying the Honda OBD diagnostic tool and reset from that.
      Try the sequence first before buying the tool. Of course lookup on the Internet for your specific vehicle.

    I cleaned my 2015 honda fit mass airflow sensor and the throttle body. Afterwards my idle got messed up, it jumps between 1500 and 2000 RPM's. I tried this procedure twice but 1 minute and 30 seconds into keeping the RPM at 3000 something kicks in and drops my RPM's to 1500. Anyone know what might be going on? And how to approach resolving this?

      Whatever they show on these Honda relearning videos, they don't work. We just burn our gas & give more strain to our engine. Either disconnect the battery for over night or buy di-directional OBD scanner with TPS reset or relearn capability.
