His short program is so masterful, full of such detail in the choreography. And I can't forget about that iconic spread eagle in the free skate, just breathtaking.
I was a student at the University of Florida when Brian skated this performance, and a bunch of SEC college kids threw a keg party just to watch him!! 🇺🇸
Superb! It brings tears to my eyes of time gone by, how the technical elements have changed since. This program is so clean and charming in a way, Brian Boitano is fantastic.
What a fantastic match between Brian and his coach. He is such a natural dancer and the choreography is sublime. He creates a perfect balance between grace and athleticism, & I will always remember these performances! Thank you Brian and Linda!
I don't know, looking back. It seems so rigged all the time. He was known for being very inconsistent. He got this new coach, this Napoleon thing going on, is choreography, lots of jumps, and his outfit so blue, and the other two not knowing or knowing chose red. That's a little weird. But I do like that the other Brian made sure in this sport, you can fall and still win gold. Your judged jump by jump and how many, and wow did he change it. That's amazing.
Maybe you should talk to the Russian judge about the rigging…he will tell you it was rigged for ORSER. 😂 He told Boitano and his coach later about the plan but that he could not go along with it after Boitano’s unbelievable free skate. He earned that gold.

I’ve never seen anyone since Brian do a spread eagle like him. He defied the laws of physics.
