Introducing the Coorie In Poncho!!
This is a wee video to introduce my new pattern Coorie In Poncho, which is now available from both Ravelry and Payhip. I do so hope that you enjoy both the knitting and the wearing of this cosy winter accessory. Let me know if you'll be casting one on, and what your yarn will be. My mind is buzzing with ideas for this poncho! Particularly for my daughter (who lives in Melbourne) and my daughter-in-law who will be travelling home to Hungary in January... wonder if I can knit it quickly enough to have it ready for her to take with her, hmm. Unfortunately I don't think I have anything in stash to suit, but that can always be quickly remedied 😉 I am loving that you're designing your own patterns, Amy. How exciting!!!💜

My copy is in my library and a copy is printed and a copy sent to my Knit Companion APP! Printed copy is kept with the yarn assigned for it, in a project bag, just incase and as a back up incase of power outage from storms, and my device runs out of juice before I do! I can knit by lantern light, in a tent, or on a float, in a car or on a boat! I like green eggs and ham, Sam I Am! Lol 😂

Oooh delicious! That was my first thought when I initially saw your red recreation then my heart leapt when you said you would write this up. I was so excited to see the perfect Corrie In Poncho was released and bought it immediately, then I realised I had 4 skeins of fabulous woollen spun merino possum waiting for the perfect project, truly a match made in heaven! This will be my special autumn knit, I can't wait! Love love love.... Love the story behind it, love that you created it and love that I can support your creative wonders as well. Thank you from NZ 😚
I am almost finished with the poncho, made it with my advent minis from last year and holding it with alpaca. I saw Christina from Chelsea yarns make it with her minis holding it with a fluff. Love the pattern and the almost finished poncho❤

Yay Amy Long Live The Poncho
I love ponchos and swan about in them here in Melbourne whenever you need that extra comforting layer in Winter or as the night cools down in Summer or with our changeable weather during Spring or Autumn. In Melbourne, hanging down off the south of Australia we have four seasons in one day and if someone asks what the weather is today we say just wait 20 mins and see!!!!!

I don't wear ponchos but you really make me want to do one! Yours are absolutely beautiful colors, and the fit looks so nice too. Enjoyed this wee episode.

Woohoo! Thank you Amy, I’ve been very keen to knit the ‘Coorie in’. I’m an old Glasgow girl living in Australia and of course very familiar with the Coorie in expression, I taught my daughters when the were little to Coorie in, so I’ll be knitting the poncho for their birthdays which fortunately are in our cooler weather in June and July. It’s certainly not the weather for them now, I tend to hibernate in the summer, never got used to the heat even after 50 years he he 🥵
I live in Australia, too, formerly from New York and Boston. The winters there are, obviously, much colder but given the lack of central heating here in Sydney, I do need something to snuggle under during our winters. This poncho will fit the bill perfectly!!!

It's really lovely,got everything together, pattern,yarn,needles and finished the ribbing, after that it went all downhill and I got lost in the short rows.😢Watched the tutorial but no further forward 😢HELP,!😅

Hi Amy, I was wondering if when you made your daughter’s poncho with the shorter neck if you still did the back shaping. I love it I’ve done 8 rows of rib with the number 1 yarn from my advent.
I love this! I had a poncho that I loved many years ago, and this reminds me so much of it! I do have a question. Could you develop a "dickey" version, that comes just past the shoulders on the sides, and has deeper V's front and back? I will be volunteering abroad in February, in Ukraine, and am needing to add some woolly but light layers to take with me. Thank you for creating this wonderful bit of Coorie In comfort and beauty in the world!
