truly believe a petiteknit pattern book would change the world haha. petiteknit patterns are so classic, timeless, concise to follow, and truly worthy of all the hype! I do wish there was a way to bundle or purchase a book, especially because sometimes I end up needing multiple versions of the same design. however I do admire & respect how much work goes into designing and am happy to support. I would love to see this same video for Sari as well 😍😍
Thanks - very interesting! I have totally different favorites 😂 My favorites are the Sunday Sweater- Ankers Pullover and Novice Sweater- but I think this is the wonderful thing about Petite Knits-Design! All the best for you.
Cloud was my first ever pattern of hesr that I made and boy! I loved it. Both knotting and wearing, it became my ultimate warm months sweater that went with literally anything in my closet. It’s very simple design but it is extremely versetile in terms of wearing it later. Love it and I’m going to knit it in a different colour this spring.
I've knit her Champagne cardigan and Lyon sweater and both are excellent patterns. I love that she has touches in her patterns that make the finish so much more polished. I found your choices so interesting!
Thank you Kaci. You made me rediscover her patterns. We often see the same patterns ! I really love her Dagmar Jacket, Zipper sweater.... and you wear the celeste sweater so well ! Hello from 🇨🇵
Hi! My first pattern from Petite Knits was the No Frills sweater which is my all time favorite. I am casting on the Eva Cardigan. I could knit all of her patterns, love them all. Thanks so much for your podcast! ❤
Thank you for sharing your top picks for PetiteKnit. I’m a huge fan of her patterns. I love how affordable her prices are compared to many other designers as well as her attention to detail. She has a great eye for those of us who love a classic tailored style with a high-end feel. I have so many of her patterns but I think my next PK cast on will be her Esther jacket. I live in the desert in SoCal and being able to take layers on and off as needed is my biggest draw when knitting. So I do a lot of cardigans, lol. Thanks again. I hope your holiday season is filled with peace and happiness my friend. ❤
I love her patterns, they are well written and so many options to choose from, especially for simple knits! I knit 2 Aros Sweaters, a Poppy Tee and an Eva Cardigan this year. They all feature contiguous shoulder construction (set-in sleeve) and the fits are perfection. The Aros Sweater is an older pattern so not entirely size inclusive and I hope its updated because its an unique simple sweater design due to the construction. Its shown as striped but I did both my sweaters solid. I also have yarn to knit a second Poppy Tee and Eva Cardigan. I also am obsessed with the Sophie Shawl and Scarf, and have countless versions of them both, and I'm excited for the Sophie Hood!
Thanks for the count down. Love it. Petite knit has some stripes pullover that are timeless classics. My first knit was the Aros Pullover, loved the construction and fit. I would re knit that in a heartbeat. ❤ I noticed some mean comments from other knitters judging petite knit and other designers. I’m so appreciative for their creativity and for Ravelry. Let’s cheer each other up and not down. 😢
I totally agree with you. I recently saw a video bashing knitters who accumulate a lot of yarn. This community I thought was made of people who respect others and enjoy our differences. Therefore I was so turned off by the video maker and the supporting comments. Can't we just be a positive group sharing a similar interest.
Terrific roundup, thank you again! My favourites are the Jenny Jacket and the Scottie pullover. I appreciate her writing style, find the patterns easy to follow. I’ve knit the cumulus tee, which I love, I’ll definitely make a second one, and I’m currently knitting my 2nd Aros sweater. The fit of the shoulders on that is lovely. Also Anker’s cardigan (my first garment ever!), the Copenhagen cardigan (perfect basic) for my sister, and the Sille slipcover for my husband. She really does have something for everyone.
Fun video! Honestly, I wouldn’t choose to knit every PetiteKnit pattern but I can’t think of a single one that I don’t like. I think they’re all beautiful and classic enough to stand the test of time. She’s a master designer in my opinion. You highlighted a couple that I’m not familiar with…going to check them out now : )
Fortune sweater is a super underrated PK pattern!! I knit one and wear it constantly and it's the only sweater I plan to reknit, using a suri + lace or fingering weight wool for a more opaque fabric. The shape is very classic.
What a lovely video! I'm hoping you can do a roundup of patterns for new garmet knitters. I want to start garment knitting but am nervous and want to make sure the patterns I'm choosing are easier to follow ❤ Love your videos!
Hi. I live in Australia so am currently looking for warm climate knits. Just yesterday I picked up my yarn for the Cloud tee. Can’t wait to get started. ❤
I, too, am a petitknit fan. You definitely introduced me to some I hadn’t seen before. I’ve knit the Celeste and it’s my favourite colour work pattern. I’ve also knit a few Cumulus blouses for myself and family! Thanks for the video! ❤
Hi Kaci, thank you for putting this together! It's always fun to see what others' favorite patterns are from such a mainstream and popular designer. Being in Southern California, I prefer her lighter-weight patterns and her accessories (for my loved ones in colder climates). I think my favorites so far have been the Cumulus Tee, Zipper Sweater Light, the Penny Gloves and the Oslo Hat.
I just finished my 12th sweater for 2024. The Petite knit Stockholm Vneck was my favorite of all using juniper moon Patagonia it's a great basic everyday sweater. Thanks for this list I will definitely make some of them
The Dagmar Jacket has me in a fit these days, it’s on my list to tackle! As controversial as she can be, I do find myself coming back to her patterns again and again. Currently knitting the Aros sweater (love the shoulder detail) and Zipper Sweater Light. Appreciate your insights ❤
I've only knit 2 petiteknit patterns; a baby sweater and the lulu chunky slipover. Both were very pleasant knits. One of hers that I know is in my future is the Champagne cardigan. I think that design is just stunning, and I'd love to add that one to my wardrobe soon!
Definitely on the same train as me. I have lots of these in my queue or have made/making. Great video and loved that you added yarn sub possibilities. ❤
I'm not a huge Petite Knit fan, but the ones I like are pretty much the ones you showed in the video, except the colorwork one and the Dagmar Jacket, which, although pretty, I think have other way better takes from other designers. For example, I'd personally choose to knit the Riddari over the Celeste, and a cabled jacket whose cables align I really like PK's knit-purl patterns, though, I prefer the female versions of the Ingrid and I like the Moby sweater The stockinette/ garter stuff and the accessories are fine as basic patterns, but just as good as similar patterns from other designers. Particularly, as I enjoy Lily Kate France's way of writing and her attention to finishing details, I'd go for her instead for basic sweaters, tees or cardigans
Thanks for your input! I appreciate you sharing your thoughts about those patterns. I’m a huge fan of lily Kate as well! Maybe I should do a LK round up
I've made 4 of the Sunday Sweaters and love its simple design but beautiful interest. Knitting the Festival Baby Sweater right now for a new baby coming soon. I do really like your choices here.
I’m excited for the Sophie hood coming out tomorrow! I made the Knitting For Olive Alex Hood and have been wearing it so much that I’m in need of a 2nd hoodie-scarf
I just finished my second no frills and I will probably knit more, it just so easy and a total classic. I have been looking at the Moby and the Ester Jacket. I’m with you, the Ester Jacket could work for me as a jacket here in NC
Just finished my Dagmar Jacket but switched the honeycomb out for cavles bexause I like the look look better. NBut it is gorgeaous! Next up is the Cloud pullover everyone I know who knit it just loves the fit
Love Petite knit patterns. I am a size XL and her patterns are always great fit for me. Also, it is clear and well structured. Regarding same designs: nobody complains about jumper, cardigan and a tee of same design in a ready-to-wear shop. It is called line or collection not a rip off.
With you on this list. Curious if you think Sonder Sunday Morning DK, which I know you have used and love, would work well for the Ingrid or if that pattern would need more density/ less drape? I think PetiteKnit has many other classics that are worth investing in, are fun to knit, and are just so wearable. I have knit the Zipper Sweater Light Man for my husband, but everybody in that family can borrow and look great in it. My Monday Sweater is what I toss on when I need something extra warm and cozy but simple and relaxed. Lastly, the April Cardigan is a winner in my book because of the shoulder construction, which looks fantastic, is interesting to knit, and stays put. Ingrid, Sunday Cardigan, Jenny Jacket V-neck, and Anker’s Summer Shirt are all in my queue.
It is so hard to limit the number to 10!! I love the No Frills sweater - I always reach for it. And I have made the Wednesday sweater 3 times for my 3 daughters. Thanks so much!!
I'm currently knitting my first ever Petiteknit pattern, the Storm sweater junior. Because I'm petite and completely swamped in the amount of positive ease she includes in her pattern, even the xxs size is much too big for me and I have to knit the junior version. This one doesn't seem to include the same neck/shoulder shaping as the adult version, so I hope it will be a good fit. I'm very much enjoying the pattern, which is very clear, and all the textures look nice. I would still like to knit the Sille slipover (junior) and maybe the Moby sweater. The April cardigan would be perfect for in my wardrobe, but sadly there isn't a junior version.
I don't have anything against Petit knit but except for her Storm and Ingrid sweater, I don't like any of her design... So I don't really get the craze about her... and I feel like I'm the only one lol. But I am currently knitting my Storm sweater and I love it ! I can't wait to be finished with it ! I might even make a 2nd one.
I’ve made several of her patterns, and I’ve really enjoyed them all. I’m currently making a storm sweater for my dad. I went with an acrylic yarn bc I don’t trust him not to throw it in the washer/dryer…but it’s killing me!😂 I’m really wishing I’d just gone with a wool and a strict warning to him not to put it in the washing machine.
That is a good question! I think any dk superwash merino would be really nice! Also a MCN blend. If money was no object I can just see this in camellia fiber co yak dk! It’s a blend of silk and yak and merino wool. So silky and soft. That would be quite an investment tho I bought a sq of knitting for olive cotton merino to hold double for this sweater :)
I am not familiar with Petite Knit. I have noticed through this channel and other channels that the yarns are often wool or mohair with more than one strand held together. I am curious how people are adapting them if they do not knit with wool, e.g. vegan/plant-based knitters. What are you substituting?
My favorite is the Fortune Sweater. Unfortunately (pun unintended) I never get any compliments on it, because it looks store-bought! I think it is part of the appeal of her patterns.
My first ever cast on garment was the Novice sweater. It turned out ok. But it was semi difficult to follow the pattern as a true beginner. Her website videos were very difficult to translate also.
I am not a huge fan, don't get me wrong her patterns are lovely, I just don't like the way she makes two identical patterns at a different gauge and charges (the Sophie shawl and Sophie scarf is a case point!!!😒) for them both, compare her attitude to Rebecca Clow and you can see she's just in it for the money, not the love of knitting.
Her prices are a LOT more affordable than MANY designers. (On average under $6 USD for hers verses $9-13 for many others. She makes adding to my pattern library affordable for me. Honestly. the great thing about having so many different designers is that there’s a designer out there for everyone. I don’t think it means she’s in it for the money and not the love of knitting. It’s just a way of designing that works for her and her following. I love that Rebecca Clow works for you and PetiteKnit works for me.
Yes! I completely agree. They're "timeless" and "classic" which is why I'm confused. There are thousands of patterns just like that and/or I can just self draft it... And when the sweater and vest versions are different patterns... isn't it the exact same with an inch of ribbing instead of sleeves?? It feels so weird to me
Valid point about the similar patterns, especially simple accessories like the Sophie. But she's trying to support her family, like anyone else, and if a person were "just in it for the money" they wouldn't be a full-time knitwear designer. Yes, she's very popular, but selling knitting patterns doesn't make anyone wealthy. And she left a career in medicine to do it.
Unfortunately Rebecca Clow’s patterns have had a lot of fit issues or issues surrounding clarity. While it’s so nice of her to bundle her patterns, when they don’t work, is that really worth it in the end?
Im really confused why a lot of people like her design. Its too simple with terrible fit on the body, not good made patterns. For me its better to go in any brand of usual store and buy same things. For me it’s waist my time and yarn for nothing
I'm disappointed in this video. I thought you featured patterns that are size inclusive on your channel. I guess I'm mistaken. A number of PK's patterns, including the No Frills Sweater, one of her most popular patterns, are not graded up to a 60" bust once ease has been accounted for, which is generally considered the requirement for a pattern to be called size inclusive. The No Frills Sweater specifically is graded to a maximum size of 54" finished bust but intended to be worn with 6" of positive ease, so it's technically only graded to a 48" bust size. Ease is a personal choice, but if a knitter is trying to choose a size that gives them the intended ease written in the pattern, none of her designs reach a 60" bust.
There are going to be some things in life that you can't have. Each of us confronts this on a daily basis, and coming to terms with it is on us, not the vendor.
Hello Whitney! I’m so sorry you feel disappointed in my sharing this video. I can understand those feelings. I feel she is trying to do better in her size range with her newer patterns and I hope she can go back and expand her original patterns further. That is my hope anyway!
Nothing has ever tempted me to knit any Petite Knit pattern. I find her style utterly boring, all that stuff I could easily buy in a shop. Why would I knit something that doesn’t stand out? But I guess, it’s what the trend is now, easy top down knitting, blending in……For me, her patterns are “Karen style”.
Thank you for doing this round up of your favorite petiteknit patterns. Honestly, I haven't looked at petiteknit patterns just because of the name. I didn't realize so many of the patterns are size inclusive. I have a large bust, so when I hear petite anything it's usually not for me. Nice to see some XL+ options in these patterns.
truly believe a petiteknit pattern book would change the world haha. petiteknit patterns are so classic, timeless, concise to follow, and truly worthy of all the hype! I do wish there was a way to bundle or purchase a book, especially because sometimes I end up needing multiple versions of the same design. however I do admire & respect how much work goes into designing and am happy to support. I know! I'd love a book too!
Thanks - very interesting! I have totally different favorites 😂 My favorites are the Sunday Sweater- Ankers Pullover and Novice Sweater- but I think this is the wonderful thing about Petite Knits-Design! All the best for you.
Petite knit patterns are some of my favourites, thank you for sharing 🥰
They are so very classic

It’s very simple design but it is extremely versetile in terms of wearing it later. Love it and I’m going to knit it in a different colour this spring.
I think you’re spot on with the Hazel sweater. Such a great design.
I’m currently knitting the Ingrid sweater and the texture pattern is so addicting! Love her writing style
I really want an Ingrid!
I've knit her Champagne cardigan and Lyon sweater and both are excellent patterns. I love that she has touches in her patterns that make the finish so much more polished. I found your choices so interesting!
Those are two great choices!
You are spot on, thank you for sharing 😊
Thank you Kaci. You made me rediscover her patterns. We often see the same patterns ! I really love her Dagmar Jacket, Zipper sweater.... and you wear the celeste sweater so well ! Hello from 🇨🇵
Yes! That is definitely the one I want to make for me! I have made her zipper sweater man twice. (For my dad and father in law) and they love them!
The Moby and Zipper Sweater are amazing too!
Agreed!
Hi! My first pattern from Petite Knits was the No Frills sweater which is my all time favorite. I am casting on the Eva Cardigan. I could knit all of her patterns, love them all. Thanks so much for your podcast! ❤
I can’t wait to see your Eva Cardigan!

The Esther is such a great choice!

You are a Petite Knit pro!
Thanks for the count down. Love it. Petite knit has some stripes pullover that are timeless classics. My first knit was the Aros Pullover, loved the construction and fit. I’ve only knit a few petite knit hats, but now I’m totally inspired ✨
Great video ❤
You are spot on. Thank you. 🌺
Terrific roundup, thank you again! My favourites are the Jenny Jacket and the Scottie pullover. I appreciate her writing style, find the patterns easy to follow. That’s quite a list of PK knits! I love it
Yesss so on the same page with your picks! Also love your Blanca, the fit, the colour, the fabric **chefs kiss**
The Blanca is a fun one for sure!
Fun video! Honestly, I wouldn’t choose to knit every PetiteKnit pattern but I can’t think of a single one that I don’t like. I think they’re all beautiful and classic enough to stand the test of time. She’s a master designer in my opinion. You highlighted a couple that I’m not familiar with…going to check them out now : )
I agree! They're all so beautiful!
Fortune sweater is a super underrated PK pattern!! I knit one and wear it constantly and it's the only sweater I plan to reknit, using a suri + lace or fingering weight wool for a more opaque fabric. The shape is very classic.
The Fortune sweater is a good one!
What a lovely video! I'm hoping you can do a roundup of patterns for new garmet knitters. I want to start garment knitting but am nervous and want to make sure the patterns I'm choosing are easier to follow ❤ Love your videos!
I love that idea! I’ve got a couple of pattern ideas brewing in my head already.
Hi. I live in Australia so am currently looking for warm climate knits. Just yesterday I picked up my yarn for the Cloud tee. Can’t wait to get started. ❤
Thank you Kaci! I have been searching for a pattern that features most of the beautiful features of the Doen May sweater. This is it!
I'm so glad you found it!
I, too, am a petitknit fan. You definitely introduced me to some I hadn’t seen before. I’ve knit the Celeste and it’s my favourite colour work pattern. I’ve also knit a few Cumulus blouses for myself and family! Thanks for the video! ❤
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching
Hi Kaci, thank you for putting this together! It's always fun to see what others' favorite patterns are from such a mainstream and popular designer. Being in Southern California, I prefer her lighter-weight patterns and her accessories (for my loved ones in colder climates). The Penny Gloves are so cute!
I just finished my 12th sweater for 2024. The Petite knit Stockholm Vneck was my favorite of all using juniper moon Patagonia it's a great basic everyday sweater. Thanks for this list I will definitely make some of them
The Stockholm is a classic!
I've knitted the April Cardigan and the Champagne Cardigan and love them both!
Those are both top picks!
Esther Jacket looks like such a classic 🏆 And your Celeste sweater is gorgeous - I love the whole outfit ❤
I’m really happy with how the Celeste turned out!
I'm with you on the Dagmar! It's a classic
I recently knit the Eva cardigan. It is perfection. I’m all about the contiguous sleeves now.
The Eva is one of my favorites too!
I've only knit 2 petiteknit patterns; a baby sweater and the lulu chunky slipover. Both were very pleasant knits. One of hers that I know is in my future is the Champagne cardigan. I think that design is just stunning, and I'd love to add that one to my wardrobe soon!
I can’t wait to see it when you are done!
Definitely on the same train as me. I have lots of these in my queue or have made/making. Great video and loved that you added yarn sub possibilities. ❤
Yarn substitutions are essential!
I'm not a huge Petite Knit fan, but the ones I like are pretty much the ones you showed in the video, except the colorwork one and the Dagmar Jacket, which, although pretty, I think have other way better takes from other designers. For example, I'd personally choose to knit the Riddari over the Celeste, and a cabled jacket whose cables align
I really like PK's knit-purl patterns, though, I prefer the female versions of the Ingrid and I like the Moby sweater
The stockinette/ garter stuff and the accessories are fine as basic patterns, but just as good as similar patterns from other designers.
Maybe I should do a LK round up
@@YoungfolkKnits I would appreciate one!
Have knitted🎉 a few of her sweaters ..think I like them because patterns seem easier to follow! Thanks for you research!
I agree! Her patterns are really great.
I've made 4 of the Sunday Sweaters and love its simple design but beautiful interest. Knitting the Festival Baby Sweater right now for a new baby coming soon.
I do really like your choices here.
I'm a big fan of the Sunday Sweater too!
The Sophie scarf definitely should be on your list too. 🎉
Good call!
I’m excited for the Sophie hood coming out tomorrow! I made the Knitting For Olive Alex Hood and have been wearing it so much that I’m in need of a 2nd hoodie-scarf
I can’t wait!
I just finished my second no frills and I will probably knit more, it just so easy and a total classic. I have been looking at the Moby and the Ester Jacket. I’m with you, the Ester Jacket could work for me as a jacket here in NC
No frills is a classic for sure!
Just finished my Dagmar Jacket but switched the honeycomb out for cavles bexause I like the look look better. NBut it is gorgeaous! Next up is the Cloud pullover everyone I know who knit it just loves the fit
Sounds great!
Cloud sweater!
Love that one n
Love Petite knit patterns. I am a size XL and her patterns are always great fit for me. Also, it is clear and well structured. Regarding same designs: nobody complains about jumper, cardigan and a tee of same design in a ready-to-wear shop. It is called line or collection not a rip off.
You're so right about the ready-to-wear comparison!
I’m trying all of these 🤩
😻
Very useful video, thank you 🤎
Thank you for watching!
I think if you are a loose knitter it could work! It’s definitely a bit thinner than peer gynt in my opinion tho.
I second the April cardigan pattern. I’ve made one in a cotton blend that I wear a lot, but definitely need a wool version!
Her Marseille sweater is on my list too ❤ but i love tout selection
I love the stripes on that one!
It is so hard to limit the number to 10!! I love the No Frills sweater - I always reach for it. And I have made the Wednesday sweater 3 times for my 3 daughters. Thanks so much!!
The Wednesday sweater is lovely!!!!!
Those are all lovely!
For a Scotty Sweater alternative, you might want to scroll through Joanna Gehrisch’s patterns!
Love Kolibri!
She is on my to make list. Maybe the cumulus
I really like the cumulus!
I have the pattern for the storm sweater to knit for myself. I wonder why not that one for the Guernsey style sweaters.
Ohhh I love the storm sweater!!!!!!!!
Hello from Swansea, Illinois. ❤❤❤❤
Hello!!
Try Isager 3 for a soft drapey sweater. 50/50 wool and alpaca.
I love isager 3!!!
You’re definitely not the only one, I’m with you 100%. I don’t get the craze either….
I haven't made anything from the world of Petite Knits yet, I just can't choose a pattern 🤣 but I think this will help with figuring that out! 💚
It can be so hard to choose! I hope this helps!
I can't blame you for wanting to go with wool! It's such a beautiful fiber. But acrylic is so perfect for gifts
Kaci you mentioned a drape yarn for the Hazel sweater - what yarn comes to mind for you-just curious
Thank you,
Stac
That is a good question! I think any dk superwash merino would be really nice! Also a MCN blend. If money was no object I can just see this in camellia fiber co yak dk! I love that one too!
My first ever cast on garment was the Novice sweater. It turned out ok. But it was semi difficult to follow the pattern as a true beginner. Her website videos were very difficult to translate also.
I can see that being a challenge! I feel like for US knitters especially we are used to more information.
Let"s cast on the Dagmar on January 1st mmmk? I need one : )
That's a great idea! Haha
Have knit PK x5😊
Very nice!
Thought you were going to be ranking sweaters you had made..
I’m always adding to my sweater collection! 😉 I made a few but I haven’t knit all of these yet.
❤
you look good in that suit. love,
Oh thank you!

Yep. My take entirely…
интересно посмотреть, но слушать.... зачем вы выдавливаете этот скрипучий,писклявый голос
I guess because it’s the only one I have

Too much jewelry merching on a knitting video, I’m outta here.
@@YoungfolkKnitsShe hasn’t and won’t.
Yeah, that's actually the perfect example of supporting discrimination. @@Citroen_2cv
@@Citroen_2cv It also happens alot in the other direction, but that is never considered, small adults don't want to be wearing children's designs!!!
I do love a special and unique hand knit sweater! Something you couldn’t buy in a store
I want to knit the Cumulus Blouse. I really like your Celeste Sweater. 🧶
The Cumulus Blouse is gorgeous - I love the shape!
Glad it was helpful!
