Never let the K have the high position. Ideally start your attack above and behind them. I usually get a Rattlesnake as my first Capital specifically to take out K's. Put Argon Large plasma and Argon Flak in the med slots. Set the Large turrets to attack your target. Large Argon Plasma Turrets have stupid range. They usually have the shields half down before the K gets into main gun range.
