    Thank you! Great video. I feel comfortable enough now to head on over to the garage and get it done.

    Thanks for sharing. A great piece of kit. A much better, safer sat nav position and probably easier to read while riding i guess.

      It’s so much more usable, you can read it safely while riding.

    Hi , very nice job , but I have a question . The mount does not seems centered . But once fitted , is your gps centered or not ?

    Thanks for this, I mounted the same kit to my1250 RS earlier this year and it makes the ride so much safer can't understand the BMW engineer's idea of placing the GPS where it is on the std. bike... By the way, I did the same as you with the circlip and found it a day later ;)

    Thank you for this video, it is very useful. Could you please advise your height and how much view of the TFT is obstructed by the nav in this setup when you ride the bike? Thanks in advance!

    Why hide beautiful handle bars?

  •  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you very much for sharing the video of the installation. I've been looking at all the models on the market for a long time, and this is one of the ones I like the most.
    I have a doubt. I see that once the bar is in place, it has screws below that press into the screen support. Do those screws have any protection to avoid scratching? Are they also used to adjust the angle, or are they just to fix the bracket?
    Thanks

    • @aussievmax
      @aussievmax  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They just firm up the bracket, it has foam pads, there is only a small amount of adjustment at that point. You would have to pull it off to see if it leaves any marks. Out of slight at that point so I don’t think it would be a big deal.

    Nice show and tell for those of us interested in relocating the ridiculously placed GPS mount. Really don't know what BMW was thinking. At the very least, I would have thought the marketing department would have said, "Hey wait a minute, the mount placement blocks our logo, that's bad branding and not cool with us." Anyway, a bit of an update ask from me. After installing and riding around for the last year, how is it? Any downsides of this brand after you put it to use in the real world? In advance, thank you for any insights you can share.

    • @aussievmax
      @aussievmax  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, no problems with the mount, it’s in a much better spot and easy to see, riding over bumps you do get a small initial shake but not enough to bothered me.

      @@aussievmax Thank you for responding, very helpful. I'll probably pick one up this coming Spring. I just installed the Black Titanium Akrapovic on my 2020 R 1250 RS. I made a video about the install for my TH-cam Channel "Texas2Tires". If you're interested, here's the link: th-cam.com/video/jBSlHV0P7CQ/w-d-xo.html

      @@windyrun7979 Hi. I went with the Hornig risers. My bike already had standard risers, but as the warnings said, they don't work with the relocation bracket. The clutch reservoir fowls on the underside of the SatNav.

    Sorry can’t agree with this move, what you do when you move the navigator up like this, is that you kill the view of what is happening and what is in front of your bikes wheel. Let it sit where it sits and connect it via wifi to the communication system in the helmet. Than you don’t need to look at it, just listen to the sweet voice of a women that sounds more and more hysteric if you don’t do what she tells you to do 🙂
    ps I’m jealous of your color.When I ordered mine 2 weeks ago it had expired for the 2021 modell, so I bought the blue one......

      Does it bounce off the windscreen? I have a Wunderlich screen that looks to be about the size of your GIVI. Again it does move a bit more than the stock one so I do wonder about rubbing.

    I've bought this riser in order to locate my phone in a "chinese" mount above the oem cradle. Would I need any metalic bar from the oem to fix the cradle to the riser mount?

    • @aussievmax

      The oem cradle sits above the riser, if you want another to sit above it, I guess you could fit it in between the tree and oem bracket.
