"Old School" leveling the tiles to each other: Before the adhesive sets, lay 1/2 inch plywood on the tile and distribute 3 to 5 lbs per sq ft over the plywood. The tiles will level to the plywood. and you don't have to keep buying the plastic things, which can break off just above the tile and then you have top carefully grind them out.
You are doing a great job!! Don't expect to be perfect. At least you are doing something. It's all coming together and you are learning a lot in the process. It's going great!! Remember, Rome wasn't built in a day.
I have paid professionals a lot of money to have tiles that weren't flat or grout that wasn't even. You will always be proud of this tile job. It looks great 😊

@@RonnaHarlow yes lots of the floor will be covered by rugs so it will be much harder to notice any imperfections. No telling how much a flooring contractor would have charged for it!

He tiled the floor before finishing the framing and hanging the rock. He's going to have to go through the trouble of not wrecking the nice tile floor now.

However it being tile, some ppl do decide to do it last to prevent any scratches and chips, but I've seen a lot of contractors tape cardboard down with a drop sheet over the high traffic areas that they will be working in. Either way works tho. Like I said it's usually just personal preference on a guys work routine
Tile looks good! Always wanted to try it but never got the courage to Having the toilet there makes a lot more sense. For some reason I thought you were going to have it under the lower part of the roof.

Did you leave a 1/2 clearance all the way around the toilet pipe? Those PVC toilet flanges extend down below the tile surface a couple of inches.
