Is that a TOTO toilet? Either way, good job Dalton. When you put the caption up that something’s about to happen, I was afraid you were gonna crack a tile. Thank goodness that was not the issue. You handled the setback like a pro. That toilet will wash your butt and save you a lot on toilet paper lol
Yo! bathroom remodeler/tile guy here. Run copper for your stub out on your tub spout. The inner diameter is smaller on pex and the back pressure will cause drips. Lookin great bro!
Congratulations. You made tremendous progress. I know you value what you have because you are creating it with your own hands. I will continue to watch all that you produce for content.
I've never installed any plumbing so my hat is off to you! We learn from our mistakes! Appears you shouldn't have a sheet rock issue behind the toilet. Well done. Onward and upward.
The road of knowledge is one well travelled with patience and perseverance.... you are travelling extremely well Dalton.... please don't be so hard on yourself, you are an inspiration to so many.
Nice work Dalton. Enjoy your camping trip this weekend. We'll be here watching and we are proud of you and thank you for bringing us all along. You are inspiring so just keep on keeping on😊❤
We have a similar "Toto Washlet" brand and my husband LOVES all the features and will never go back to a regular toilet after using this type toilet. Had it for almost 4 yrs now. In fact, we even removed it from the home we sold and took to new home (since it was an $1800 purchase we didn't want to re-buy). Did the re-install, no issues 2nd time around either and still works perfectly. Has same type features, side handle manual flush but your concerns are warranted as were ours in the beginning. Just know we've had zero problems and would purchase another. I think you're going to love it. Great work!
A tutorial for me, as I've never installed a toilet. There is a learning curve to every job, so no worries about the flange fail and you have the satisfaction of having completed the job yourself. Be proud you didn't crack/break the tile when drilling holes, that's what concerned me. Happy for you now having a functional shower and toilet, right on brother, anxious to see the completed bath!
Whew! That's a fancy-smancy toilet. I have taken my toilet up by myself several times over the years (without any help from Grumpy Old Man), and it wasn't anywhere near that complicated. Of course, the drainpipe was too long. So, there's that. Anyway, I'm glad you were able to conquer the toilet. 😊
I loved the learning process via fuck up! So basically I have learned that the toilet should bare its own weight directly onto floor, with minimal allowance for wax ring Squish underneath, between the toilet and floor, which i never knew until now. My husband does plumbing, electrical, heavy carpentry etc. but not a whole lot gets explained to me unless im hovering or needed for gopher runs or extra set of hands. I ask alot of questions because im naturally curious and i like to know stuff, but generally, i tend to leave him to it when hes doing something so when he messes up, and im not there to see it, hes free to redo it, and it never really happened, and he gets to keep his guy card for another day! 😅 Thanks for risking your guy card to help an internet full of older women learn what not to do should we ever have to face these problems......or at best, gain enough knowledge to tell our men they're doing it wrong 😂😂😂
Hi Dalton, perseverance pays off. You won’t know yourself, a working toilet. I hope you have no problems and it runs smoothly. Congratulation’s on reaching 14K subscribers 🎉
A friend of mine used to have some electric ceiling heat thing that you could put on after a bath or shower,, it was the greatest thing ever, esp in cold mornings. I would love to see you put one of those things in. If not, its still a beautiful bathroom!
I had one growing up. Lol. I had forgotten all about that thing. It worked great. We only used it for a few minutes at a time and it would make the ceiling glow with heat.
Minor hiccup handled like a pro. I tell you what, I couldn't have done any better, not having ever done it before. Can't say I'm a fan of toilets with bells and whistles either. Seems to me the old standard was easily repairable, why add electronics to the equation. Good job! 🤓👍
Good job Just to let you know Lowes sells a rubber ring that fits right down in the flange and no way they can leak so simple I replaced mine about 5 years ago with one and never problem
I used to overthink some projects or get too many people telling me how they would do it. Now I just listen to the old plumbers and do that. Good recovering from a small mishap!😊
You need tile drill bits. It’s not a paddle bit. They are these circle bits with a diamond coating. Kinda takes some getting used to to get the hole started precisely but it’s worked wonders in my bathroom and I have tiled up half of my walls.
Proudly presenting to you,,, THE ELECTRIC TOILET!! So glad u were able to persevere,, and now you have a leakfree lovely throne, that is fit for a king!! So dang proud of you!! All the best in 2025 :)
it should be fine i am sure they did some product testing, but if you ever need to manually flush it, just dump a bucket of water into the bowl, it will flush. well done man its in!
Woo hoo a new toilet! I, too, love the captions you add. I'm curious to know, start to finish how long did it actually take you to install the toilet?! I mean, it was only half an hour for us. LOL.
I am in awe of the fact that modern technology now gives me the ability to shine a light on my bodily waste floating within its eventual demise. The toilet I never knew I needed.
Ah Ha!!!! Finally First! Let it be known!!! Lol... Dont worry dalton, im the best Arm chair helper on TH-cam and im here to tell you, Were doing a great job! 👍 Lol nvm me your doing spectacular for a 1 man crew bud keep it up.
Little too late but that bathroom size would be great for under tile electric floor heating. That would cost less than $400. But you can have a exhaust fan that heats the bathroom too .,. Just need an extra wire for the heater portion
Just kidding! But you’re doing such a solid remodel on your bathroom that, heaven forbid, if something happens to your house, the bathroom would be the only room standing.
Your supposed to glue that toilet flange to the pipe (schedule 40 pvc). I know that you screwed it down and the flange fits inside the pipe, but still, it is supposed to be glued for complete seal.
Dalton you are too hard on yourself! Think what you have just achieved fitting your first toilet. A skill you won’t forget….ever. You kept going and didn’t beat you. You are a winner!! Now go off camping and have fun😉👏👏👏🥳🥳🥳🫶
You persevered and problem solved. As for watching, I’m a 73 year ole’ lady and I hung in until completion…well done! 👍
Hey! Also 74! He's our boy! He makes me feel young again! We are of an age that appreciates persevering! This bathroom is shaping up nicely!
Be proud of yourself. After seeing the toilet, I like it, it's aesthetically pleasing. I'm now considering replacing mine.

I love when you put the captions in 😂 great video.

21:58 Not just a toilet , but a carnival ride too! lol
Good job. Yeah, as someone else stated...those captions are gold!
Congratulations. You made tremendous progress. I know you value what you have because you are creating it with your own hands. I will continue to watch all that you produce for content.

“Manual override” is a bucket 🪣 full of water.
Looks good. You definitely have more patience than I do.
Be proud your a great young guy learning as you go that’s how I did it
Dalton you always hang in there! Good for you! 👍👍👍
The road of knowledge is one well travelled with patience and perseverance.... you are travelling extremely well Dalton....
please don't be so hard on yourself, you are an inspiration to so many.
Step by step a home appears! Each task is figured out and mastered! Each decision is made and each choice is chosen! Hard work but so worth it!
Once it’s finished, it will be great!

I enjoy watching you. You do your work while explaining why you do things. You are like a teacher

You're doing. You're learning and getting better. That's all you can ask of yourself. Don't be so hard on yourself. You're LEARNING.
Great video. You are helping others learn how to do so many things. Thanks Dalton.

Put the flange on before tile.Easier to build up than take off.

You got it ! 😊 look what you just learned an accomplished! You have come a long way 😊
The toilet of the future!
I used to overthink some projects or get too many people telling me how they would do it. Now I just listen to the old plumbers and do that. Good recovering from a small mishap!😊

I got cheap ones off of Amazon and they worked like a charm.
We’ve used coring bits before. They’re okay but these spade bits work a lot faster And they’re a fraction of the price
I’m seeing a heat source and some insulation. Good thing because of the current and forecast weather conditions. Great progress on the ‘loo’ !
I feel for you, similar things have happened to me when installing a toilet flange
Proudly presenting to you,,, THE ELECTRIC TOILET!! So glad u were able to persevere,, and now you have a leakfree lovely throne, that is fit for a king!! So dang proud of you!! All the best in 2025 :)

If I was doing that, I would have drawn blood because of some stupid move on my part. At least you accomplished it without wiping up blood!
🎉 YAAAAH ! YOU DID IT 😅 yes, I Love watching your Videos 👍 see you on the next one !
Really cool toilet. Thanks for the video!
Woo hoo a new toilet! I, too, love the captions you add. I'm curious to know, start to finish how long did it actually take you to install the toilet?! I mean, it was only half an hour for us. LOL.
Half the day Saturday and half the day Sunday. If you include the two 40 minute drives to and from the hardware store both days
I am in awe of the fact that modern technology now gives me the ability to shine a light on my bodily waste floating within its eventual demise.
The toilet I never knew I needed.
Jobs like this make the process easy to remember for next time.
Hope you are staying warm enough camping! Whiskey seems to make you feel warm but actually does not help but rather works against keeping warm! 🤔😎
Ah Ha!!!! Finally First!
Let it be known!!! Lol...
Dont worry dalton, im the best Arm chair helper on TH-cam and im here to tell you, Were doing a great job! 👍 Lol nvm me your doing spectacular for a 1 man crew bud keep it up.
I 2nd that😊 lol. I'm 2nd
Pretty awesome. Great job

ahh, i know first hand the feeling of messing up an install at my home. Funny stories after the fact.
I dont like messing with wax rings. I use the rubber seal ones no problems. And yes that old wax is nasty.
You went a little too deep on your cut but it should work out for you. Good job! 👍
What's that saying? Thanks for messing that up so we don't have to? lol. In the end, the job is correct and complete. Yay!
Just kidding! But you’re doing such a solid remodel on your bathroom that, heaven forbid, if something happens to your house, the bathroom would be the only room standing.
Thank you sir! Is your toilet light for middle of the night number 1 trips in the dark?
Haha i think that’s the idea
Well that's one more thing you can say you know how to do! LOL It's just like pancakes....the first one is always a little wonky.
Such a cutie💋
Congratulations.
Your supposed to glue that toilet flange to the pipe (schedule 40 pvc). I know that you screwed it down and the flange fits inside the pipe, but still, it is supposed to be glued for complete seal.
28:30 i show myself priming and glueing it
@@marchingmoto Yes you did! My apologies! My mistake! Good job!!!
How much snow did you get? We had a bunch here north of KCMO last weekend
I measured 5-8 inches in different places at my house
That’s a pretty fancy toilet. Does it wipe for you? 🤠
Does the toilet work if the power goes out?
Yeah it has a battery it works off if it loses power
Is that a drill bit with a saw blade on it? I gotta get one. What is it called?
Internal PVC pipe cutter. It worked well
@marchingmoto 👍👍x 10
"Uses electric power to flush."
What a bizarre kind of timeline we are caught in, eh?
😂 I guess you're going to get some backup batteries too right? Yeah that toilet is weird
I would have put in heated floors instead of space heater.
They don’t call it a deuce for nothing 😂😂
Congratulations and shocked you never used ‘colorful’ language (or you edited it out😂).
Haha I don’t use it at all
I'm confused; sheetrock should be first.
Go grab you a cold one.
Snaking the toilet!
You can know be a Policeman/Sheriff because now you have something to GO on 😊 🤭😉💩💩
See now you are peeing in there, great work!
You learn a lot more by trying, failing, figuring it out and trying again. Surely you didn’t learn to ride a bike in one try!
💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩🎉🥳!
Dalton you are too hard on yourself! Think what you have just achieved fitting your first toilet. A skill you won’t forget….ever. You kept going and didn’t beat you. You are a winner!! Now go off camping and have fun😉👏👏👏🥳🥳🥳🫶
