That reminds me of camping in the National Forest near Flagstaff AZ. Lots of cows. One bull tried using my travel trailer for a scratching post. It got a bit sketchy trying to shoo him off. I've got a video of once where we were surrounded by about 100 elk. Very cool experience. A forest fire about 5 miles away caused them to group up and move away from it.

I used to tent camp with a family canvas tent and used a propane lantern. It worked great before bed and in the morning to dry it out and warm up.
