I've cut most of the 'positive auras for other people's creatures' package from my eriette, it sounds good on paper but I found it was more reliable to just add more pillow fort effects. I focus a lot more on curses for mine.
Matt shouldve been gaining life off of the army token due to it being a zombie army (it gains lifelink it it has 6 or more power) still an awesome game!
Edit: there's a Concordant Crossroads Was there a haste effect that I missed? How does Sauron recast on turn 7 with counters from Master Biomancer can attack immediately.
I would love the Vishgraz decklist for inspiration! I've had the precon for a while slightly upgraded, but I really want to do something with it again.
Canyon Slough; pronounced "sluff", like enough or tough. Soil sloughing is soil falling off banks and slopes due to a loss in cohesion. Soil sloughs off for the same reasons as landslides in general, with very wet soil being among the leading factors.
It's a shame about Vishgraz, it seems pretty good but really gets going a turn too late it seems. He seems interesting tho, can build it more voltrony with its 2nd ability or go wide with tokens or even meet in the middle. Toxic might be a bit of a trap, like trying to do 2 things at once. You could try leaning a bit less into the infect, play only the great ones like Bloated Contaminator/Contaminant Grafter mainly as a way to get value off Vishgraz's 2nd ability and add some voltron. I think it could work but then its not doing the cute thing anymore :(
I'm kinda new to EDH, what do you mean when you say you're transforming your Vishgraz deck to a miracle deck? What made you make that decision? Nice video!(:
I have an Abzan toxic 1 deck with tymna and siddar so no one knows I’m playing toxic though I have thought of swapping to vishgraz. Telegraphing it always makes you a target
Ppl just don't know or rather take the time to build Eriette, the amount of games that it flops, both online or irl, a dude next to me in the lgs once wanted to kingmake me becouse 'he never saw Ereitte win'. It's quite disapoonting to see.
@@Lazydino59 ive gone through different strategies and the most sucessfull ended up being enchantment storm like, no rocks, just reduce costs, a lot of 2cmc cards, a lot, and i mean a lot of repeated card draw, and 37 auras, 9 of them cantrips, lightpaws can also tutor cantrips for extra draw. If you can afford a anything that taps for devotion, it's insane. That being, everything in the deck will be mostly white, black its a very good added bonus, love my Dark Confidant. anyway. 12 auras that stop creatures from attacking or blocking. Pariah + indestructuble for no damage taken, also solitary confinement since we draw so much. All that glitters and Ethereal armor are the only worthy pumps. Auras that return to the battlefield perform really bad for me, also i dont want to goad things, i want things that cant attack or block so the aura is sure to stay. Umbras (totem armor) are great becouse if your creature dies, it technicaly doesnt leave that battlefield as it is a replacement effect so every aura attached to it doesnt go to the bin. 15 creatures, i see people running like 25... and not enough auras. Also, this might seem stupid given orzov has permanent removal and exile, but i dont run any. 2 mass recursion spells (I run grim guardian as a comeback/clutch thing) Flickering ward is your best aura as it can come back to hand and played again when a kor spirit dancer comes and you have no aruas in hand for whatever reason. Blind obedience....it's not only great becouse im often spending life to draw cards. But wtf, it's doing the same damage as if another aura on the endstep, there are times i want to save auras in my hand. Land tax is awesome to thin, thinning is great in general, tho i dislike lands that enter tapped in this deck. I run no only cards up to 4cmc, lurrus is great, sun titan, bit of a stretch. A thing i havent tried yet is flash auras, i saw someone with a whole list where every aura could be played as an instant, but i cant find it anymore. You can see my list here www.archidekt.com/decks/5498543/ichihara_wishworks i've gone full on blinging this B*tch when i finally figured Eriette out (ancient tomb should prob not be there), it's my favorite deck. It makes me have to play better in order to win. The list also includes a ton of research on the side. If you can find those flash auras xD i'd aprettiate it a lot.
Man, I feel that if Eriette were printed 10 years ago when Commander was a young format she would've been an absolute house. Unfortunately she is just far too slow and fragile for today's version of the format (in my opinion).
As someone who played edh 10 years ago, that isn't very likely. There weren't any good white cards aside from the obvious 1 drops and people played even less creatures. You wouldn't get to see anyone play her normally, just a deck using the black/white enchantment tutors for Exquisite Blood/Sanguine Bond combo.
@@PraiseChika I mean, I also was playing 10 years ago so I too am talking from experience. White was for sure weaker back then, but there were certainly good white cards/decks that existed. Winning via combat damage was the main (if not only) wincon for most metas. Decks/creatures were often slower and combo decks or decks that attacked the game from a different angle tended to be fewer in number (which is why Eriette would thrive IMO). But with all that said, EDH wasn't as homogenized as it is today, allowing for individual metas to vary more drastically. So I can see why your experience may have differed from mine.
At the end if he just played eldrazi displacer could he have blinked the two attacking creatures? It wouldve destroyed the token completely and removed the counters from sauron.
He couldn't have hit Sauron due his ward ability, but yeah, he could've blinked the army, still chump Sauron and maybe won via proliferation next turn.
That thumbnail looks like it would be the most epic battle in history
at 6:04 Spirit Loop requires that you enchant a creature you control, it can't be cast on Vishgraz.
Good catch!
@@MTGMuddstahI did this exact mistake last time I played my erriette deck
Not gonna lie, this was the real experience of players not uniting against a true dark lord.

Have a list?

in the beginning of the game, when Arca fetch landed into an untapped shock land, you didn't take away the shock land 2 life, just fyi.
There was a misplay early on with Arca he should taken 2 more with the godless shrine
John destroying an irrelevant aura and not a game winning saga ???
yes, this
I definitely made a face when he did that. So dumb.
Yeah, that was a decision for sure
Yeah how can that be explained?
🤦
Matt shouldve been gaining life off of the army token due to it being a zombie army (it gains lifelink it it has 6 or more power) still an awesome game!
Oh good catch!
1:52 arca needed to lose 2 extra like for that shock lands entering
Edit: there's a Concordant Crossroads

Wondering the same. Sauron shouldn't have been able to attack the turn he came out.

Lol confidentally incorrect:

Why does mat at 2:53 flash bowmasters in and then amasses a zombie army instead of an orc one?
I remember seeing this game live, mostly because of the Tabby art and how it got shot down by the Orc Archer, hahaha.
damn that last ezuri turn was rough, plus having the concordant crossroads

I think he said Myrkul, which is another Abzan commander
I did! It's Myrkul who is more enchantment based.
Do you guys ever make it to Missouri?
Shouldn’t the army token just be on as a orc zombie mass token?
with your staff you could poliferate 4 times to take him out at 10 poison counter and left you at 1 life ^^
Concordant crossroads is one way to accelerate a game lol.
Drown in Ichor was missplayed. Nothing lenedary was sacrified. It couldn't target Sauron due to his ward ability.
Always missing the lifelink from the zombie army when attacking with more than 6 power
Why not using the displacer ability to save your life last turn?
First turn there's already no life being paid for a shockland lol
I have an Abzan toxic 1 deck with tymna and siddar so no one knows I’m playing toxic though I have thought of swapping to vishgraz. Telegraphing it always makes you a target

How do you properly build it then (genuinely asking)? I’ve only ever seen it underperform for such a cool art/color combo
