Might be a rule Mistake by me but as far as i remember tokens don't go to the graveyard so all these triggers Jimmy got from sacking token for marionette master shouldn't even happen since the trigger activates when they go to the graveyard not when they are destroyed. But also i didn't played in a long time so i might be wrong myself but some clarification on that would be nice. Outside of that i loved the Kennrith deck.

The fact that Mitch was not only able to contend with Jimmy’s board at all times, but also play like 3 turn cycles of 3v1 with a $100 budget deck is really inspirational, especially in a deck where a good amount of the budget had to go to mana fixing.

I believe a Krosan Grip was used. It has Split Second. Players can't respond to Split second cards.

Flynt Games I played it against my friends on tabletop simulator a few days ago. It’s nasty, but tutoring and playing willbreaker with kenrith out on turn 5 tends to get a lot of hate
Proof money isn't everything, with kenriths abilities all at reduced cost and it giving him free 1 mana kills with the cheap blue enchantment id never seen before, he was the secondary target of everyone on the table. 👌

Loved it. It was great to see your Breya deck! My Breya deck is my primary deck and it does work similarly to yours. I've chosen to leave out the infinite combo stuff(displacer, altar etc..) and instead run about 10 walkers in it for a super friends sub theme. Marionette Master is an MVP for sure in my deck as well. That card is incredible.

Mitch's budget decks can really keep up with the other decks at the table. As a newcomer to MTG I love that you can do that.

It is easy to win with a budget deck if the commander is overloaded. I doubt his budget brew would have a chance if the commander were Gahiji (or something casual like Hapatra or Ezuri).

I don't personally think there's any animosity against Mitch for running a budget building channel. We all know that even if we start off with one of his budget builds, we're all eventually going to end up spending $$$ upgrading it over time. On the plus side, he makes absolutely genius content and is a major ambassador for the EDH format which is raking in huge profits for WotC.

Idk if josh should have killed Mitch there tbh. It got rid of a problem, but jimmy just blew them out the next turn. In hindsight, it’s easy to say this tho. It was an awesome game nonetheless

The king is also most powerful when in control of as much land as possible.

I feel that this was a much needed episode! We’ve got jimmy sitting there with $600 worth of OG dual lands and Mitch with $1.85 in basic lands and Mitch held his own nicely in this game (and was on track to lock it down!). I’ve made three of mitches decks and they all hold their own against anything but high end optimized and cedh. Awesome game everyone!
Out of all the decks featured on this episode, the only one I'd actually like to play would be Kenrith.

This was recorded late 2019 and I believe that is around the time Mitch went on Command Zone to talk about budget decks. I do hope for him to be on Game Knights but it makes sense he was on extra turns since it focuses on home brew decks.

At 11:30, Mass Mutiny targets on cast (it uses "target creature" instead of "choose a creature"), so you've displayed this interaction a little incorrectly. It should go as follows:
1. Cast Mass mutiny, announcing targets (note: at this point, Mitch can choose Breya and/or Ezuri here).
2. Mitch passes priority on the Mass Mutiny cast.
2. Ladee Danger passes priority on the Mass Mutiny cast.
3. Jimmy announces the Breya activation trigger (-4/-4), sacrificing the signet and Breya and targetting the Ezuri.
4. Breya hits the graveyard, Jimmy chooses whether to put it in the command zone.
5. 2 Marionette Master triggers go on the stack. Jimmy targets Mitch with the first trigger and Ladee Danger with the second. This is assuming the order they lost life is the order those triggers resolved on the stack.

I agree with him, the best episodes of Game Knights are when the people playing have made their own decks and show off their creativity. I understand your point and there are definetly people like that but you could have said it nicer.
@@oppositecatchyghost8025 Showing off new commanders by building their own decks around them is the most interesting way to combine both promotion (of the new set) and creativity. Precons are not as exciting to watch imo.
Knowing that budget decks can be good is a different thing than seeing a budget deck stand up to far more expensive decks. I have had nothing but mad respect for Mitch - but now I have admiration.

Thank you so much for another Commander Gameplay. I always wait day after day for another video from The Command Zone and when there finally is a new one I always get so excited and it brightens up my day all the time.
As soon as he let that infect for 7 in i said to myself. "He might end up regretting that, kenrith can't really stop anyone from proliferating." Sure enough, punished for it. There was potential out of either Lady or Josh's deck to be running proliferate to compliment it's own strategies.
I have NO IDEA why Mitch let that through. He had the Spore Frog ready! Kenrith can dig himself out an HP hole, but Infect is bad news!
I am surprised that Ladee didn't use proliferate.

Seems to be a mistake in resolving the Mass Mutiny: Mitch should already have chosen targets when he cast it, not on resolution.
@Dyanosis Nope, thats what the stack is for. In your example: Mass Mutiny on the stack -> Dismiss triggers on the stack -> Counter on the stack. Counter resolves first, countering Mass Mutiny. The Dismiss triggers are still on the stack. Dismiss triggers resolve, creatures are beeing sacrificed. Stack is empty (because Mass Mutiny was countered).
@@xXenosx You really haven't explained this at all in a way that makes sense with the rules of magic as they are stated. My understanding is this is the rule top commentor is discussing:
"114.1. Some spells and abilities require their controller to choose one or more targets for them. The targets are object(s), player(s), and/or zone(s) the spell or ability will affect. These targets are declared as part of the process of putting the spell or ability on the stack. The targets cant be changed except by another spell or ability that explicitly says it can do so"
I don't really understand from what you've said why this rule wouldn't apply here. I may be missing something though.

Not only been playing for 20 years but also has a career that puts him in a position to afford the bling. Thought it was really cool seeing his deck run, especially with it being almost on par with Mitch's budget deck. More money doesn't always mean more power, in MTG.

I thought Mitch would be on the back foot, but that deck made him the king at that table.
Really like the editing flow of the screen zooming in on that player’s battlefield and the video fading through when people search, but using voice-overs. Just a smooth quick flow of a game. Looked great! Awesome to see Mitch and Ladee on.
This gameplay content is so much nicer than game knights. We get to see your homebrew decks in action without any filler, yet still get the excellent production value. Keep up the good work.

I like how I watch an extra turns earlier this morning and I come back to a new one right after work.
Feels like it was an odd thing to go for Mitch when Josh already had him at death at will with contagion engine. Could've just kept him alive to be able to do something against Jimmy, Jimmy was just chilling with a consecrated sphinx and Josh didn't bat an eye.
All Josh needed was one more turn to kill Jimmy. By killing Mitch, he was also putting Jimmy in mortal danger. He just didn't know how quickly Jimmy could win was he wasn't being slowed down by Mitch's shenanigans.

The fact that Mitch's first appearance on "Game Knights" is on the budget version of it kind of makes sense.
Made slightly stranger by the fact that the other players brought the opposite of Budget decks. (Original Dual Lands like Jimmy had cost 2-3 times as much as Mitch's entire deck each)

Nah I've noticed that too. I think it's because in his vids he has to talk really quickly to get a full deck tech in under a reasonable amount of time.
Man, i love these kinds of chill games. Most of my play group has moved into using game ending combos by turn 6 and it has been a major downer for me.
Mine has too. Keep having fun the best you can and enjoy whatever little victories came your way.

So this wasn't a commander game this was a 3v1. No wonder I haven't seen mitch in the channel other than this episode.
They can't have people know that an power level 7 1600 dollar deck will be beat by a level 8 focused 100 dollar deck.
When the -1/-1 counter goes onto Marchesa, it does not remove the +1/+1 counter; they are both on the creature so her ability would trigger when she dies.

Things that CAN answer your stuff now tends to feel scarier than things that COULD win later, that's why threat assessment is a very important skill to have in edh.
The problem is that Mitch had the game locked down. So it was either DEFINITELY lose to him or PROBABLY lose to Jimmy.
The second part of that problem is that by locking the game down, he was keeping Jimmy in check. It's no coincidence that the turn after he died, Jimmy won.
Josh just summoning clerics so many turns in a row slowly sapping his life was great
