I just spent hours doing this evening with my new set. I never thought the hoses would be a such a nightmare to get on 😅 such tight areas. For those reading, I noticed taking the air filter cover off and unplugging the manifold made so much more room. The battery side was a biatch though.
Thanks mate, I hear a lot of people saying they need to do this but this is the first video showing how easy it is. Nice work!
Good video mate. A must do for all Pajero Sport owners 👍
The springs in those hose clamps are a great idea! I got the forefront pipes but the clamps are standard no spring, and I recently had to tighten the turbo side as it leaked and threw a check engine code that had me trying to find the cause for a couple of months of turning it off with a code reader. It surprised me the very small amount of leak still threw the code. The noticeable effects of that hose leak were - 1. an increase in fuel consumption. 2. Now and then at idle revs were irregular and jumping about. 3. The check engine light would return often during towing a small trailer and the code was temperature sensor 1 high exhaust temp reading. I went through a bit of deep water and that was when we first noticed the check engine light issues began and now I'm wondering if the back pressure from the exhaust going under pusher the air leak to occur and from there I began turning it off and monitoring when it would return trying to diagnose it. In the end I found the leak and tightened the clamp ha ha! Stoked it was so simple! Moral of my story is the spring clamps probably would have maintained the tension as the pipes got warm, and bedded in after install etc. Glad I didn't go off swapping out major parts chasing the issue of a simple loose clamp 😅 go well bro, cheers 👍
Good vid Rohan. The most needed upgrade on the PS I recon. Ummm, bash plates a close run thing 😁
Cairns Trinity car dealers diagnosed my 2019 Mitsubishi pajero sports with DPF fauls, I reported the issues to them but told us to drive longer distances, took it for a drive 50 km but fault did not go out so we put it in for service and they found a split inter cooler hose that's causing the DPF fault.
Oh damn i just watched your previous video on intercooler hoses and commented on why you didnt go silicone but here we are.
Nice bullbar too same as ours on our triton :)
Trinity car dealer in Cairns found a left split inter coller hose, they are still puting the order in.
Did you change the O rings? If so, where were they located?
Cheers
Afternoon mate doing a 16 mq believe the same
How did you get the driverside off so easily?
with the power of editing hahahha
Great video Rohan. Out of interest, I noticed that you have gas struts holding up the bonnet. Where did you get these please? Cheers, DG
Hey mate. OffRoadDaily has them :)
Any updates on the hoses? Still ok 5 months on?
Just got a set for my PC Challenger, looking forward to fitting.
Hope you're ok with the health stuff mate, looking forward to new content when you're back to it.
Thanks mate.
Yeah the hoses are still 100% definitely recommend them.
Have Mitsi fixed the hose problem 23/24 models. And like anything, if i fit these, does it affect warranty if the ship goes down? Or should i carry a spare set of mitsi hoses, just in case?
Hmm you removed the air filter box hose and the power steering bottle last time for easy access but not this time round.. spose it can be done either way :)
One is more in depth and user friendly
Just fitted these hoses to my triton, what a bitch of a job
😢
My hose clamps are different to the ones in your video, they are wider and foul against a nut at the throttle body. They also seem a few millimeters short that the original hoses. I will soon know if they hold
Bro do this intercooler pipes have seals... I have been quite around $800 to replace house and deals.. Is that so?
My hoses are stuck so tight once the clamps are released I can’t move them at all let alone get them off. Any tips?
Also what the best way to get the new ones on as they are much firmer and don’t bend as much?
Friend, can you show us how younsetup you oil catch can
There is an install video on the channel :)
Whats that tool called that you are using? Looks super handy..
It's a bahco 1/4 drive ratchet with the screwdriver handle and extension
is silicone better than aluminum type intercooler hoses?
Aluminium i wouldnt bother, the hoses are too short to warrant it, also just more room for leaks at each join, Silicone is perfect
Hey mate great video. Was just wondering that intercooler pipe on the passenger side near the battery is that the cold side or hot side? Cheers
Battery side where throttle body is, that's cold side
Hey mate, just wondering what size clamps they are? trying to buy some backups for on the road. cheers
Stock clamps are fine as long as they haven't been overtightened
Another great vid👍
About to put an order in. Do you think it’s worth upgrading the intercooler too?
Unless you're chasing more power not really
Or if in a hot climate alot
@@T.A.G hey mate. Been talking to my Machanic who has said to not worry about these and go Hotpipes instead (metal)
What’s your thoughts?
Also just emptied the catch can. A watery substance came out first then no oil then after a while say 50mls of oil. After 3000kms. Is that normal
Metal pipes are useless in this scenario and actually will be a negative. You're creating 4 points of potential leak/blow off opposed to 2 each hose.
On long sections of cooler piping the hard pipes are better. But these hoses aren't long so it's just more expense and headache, aswell as doubling the chance of failure
@@T.A.G man of knowledge.
Did you see the bit about catch can? I was editing it while you were replying
I try to use coupon for purchase it comes up error
It's probably no longer active, the video is quite old now
where to buy these yellow pipe? plz share a link .thanks
Offroaddaily.com.au
Do these hose expand under boost?
Can't say I've jammed my head under the bonnet while on boost
Thanks heaps man! Made life easy as
Hi mate, what brand of hoses is that?
Offroaddaily.com.au
I got mine from eBay and it was not that easy to slide the pipes on. FML
Whats the tool your using?
1/4" ratchet and socket set
@@T.A.G Thankyou
Why is this necessary?
Search into my channel and you'll see, I've got another video with them split. It's the most common issue
@@T.A.G thanks mate 👍
old hoses full of oil but ensure new hoses are clean lmfao
100%
It's all past the filter. If you've got shit in the hoses it's going straight into the engine. Rags, spiders, bits of plastic...
