I remember hearing Trent Reznors version and thinking what an amazing song he had written until I heard Joy Divisions original version. Perfection. God what this band could have been.
I remember hearing the Nine Inch Nails version in 1994’s The Crow starring Brandon Lee but then I hear the original by Joy Division and it’s absolute perfection
This Dead Souls is actually live at the Effenaar, Eindhoven. Spotify incorrectly labelled it as Les Bains Douches. Video is live at the Apollo Theatre, Manchester 1979.
it's a three-minute intro ... that's why Joy Division opened up with Deal Souls so Ian could get a feel for the crowd before saying "Someone take these dreams away!"
I have read he danced and moved in this spectacular way even before epilepsy entered his life. It was just his unique way the music made him move. It's amazing isn't it? Love.
Sam is super actor but there s no comparison at all.. i m sorry to say that but Ian is Ian and the movie was very like for kids, not even close to was him inside.. i hope someone will made a proper movie not only for Ian, to all JD story more like documentary..
You seriously didn’t think he did a great job as Ian in the film??? He had me believing it was a documentary it was so real to me. Incredible I thought.

not what they "could have been" ...what they were and are. part of the Manchester Holy Trinity
My friends were huge NIN and Trent Reznor fans and I was like...this is Joy Division...big argument ensued...then i pulled out the record...
Could’ve been? No bro don’t look at it like that appreciate they legacy on what they are
Could have been? Ian Curtis could have taken the band to wonderful new levels, but Joy Division evolved into New Order, my favorite band of all time.
It is
What a talent, Ian....I am beyond speechless

Rocks!
Jeu scénique impressionnant !!! 🖤🖤😨
THIS SONG HAS SUCH A BRUTAL RIFF!!!! IT'S PROBABLY THE DARKEST GOTHIC SEIZURE-ROCK EVER!!!
There's a radio performance by Division that has an almost blues riff. The song is shockingly malleable.
Gilded Gilda days.💙💘
This is it there's nothing else
Nice video editing! 👏
Das Cover war bei "the crow" mit Brandon Lee dabei...
This would be a good ringtone

There is no comparison, Ian Curtis was and will always be one of the best song writers of his generation, the other guy is a half bit actor.
