I cant stress enough how awesome it has been working with this company. They literally toke me out of the stone ages of looking through coffee cans to find a bolt. They supply absolutely everything you could ever want or need. Check out the link below to get started on your own Fastenal journey!

I recently ended up "inheriting" a ton of tools from an old farm. Your channels not only helped with their maintenance and upkeep, but lent a few clever remedial fixes to organization, and equipment longevity.
    Keep up the good work!!

This is a great endorsement of Fastenal. My son works there and it's been a great company...they support veterans as well. Thank you for posting this.

I love our fastenal cabinets. Don’t use it much, but by god, it makes a simple job that much simpler. Especially with how my company orders stuff

I always liked going to the Fasenal store.
    I see their trucks everywhere.
But to have their inventory stocked in the shop is phenemonal!
I never knew that was a possibility!

I love it , I worked in 2 Shops that had everything in bins that you could ever use . it makes life at work so much better . I have to stop what im doing and run to hardware if they don't have it I run to a tractor supply . we have 2 in are town . I have come across not finding the right bolt had to go 80 miles to get it . adding a toe hitch to a jeep the frame bolt was metric fine thread in like 16mm odd ball thread pitch. my shop i have fishing tackle box full of nots bolts and buckets of junk.

Brilliant system love that you own the units after buying a set of fasteners! I work in a garage in the uk and we use a brand called würth who do a similar thing and the efficiency of the shop dramatically improved after getting one of these systems!!

You know there are more than 20 fastenal locations in the UK...

I work at a golf course on the grounds maintenance side. We had a fastenal guy stop buy once in a while, even if we didn’t buy anything he came by to check in. Eventually he moved to another part of the company and his replacement just stopped coming. We never went through Hardware fast enough to spend all the money on an organization system like this. We have a hardware store less than a mile away from our maintenance shop so if we ever need faster a we just go down there and pick up what we need. We have plenty of other companies that take care of our shop chemicals and shop supplies. So there wasn’t any need to buy from fastenal.
Edit: fastenal is good, they have a lot of stuff, but we just didn’t need the quantity of fasteners to justify having them keep coming back, as well as having other suppliers taking care of other shop supplies.

I recently left a “small” welding/fab shop who’s greatest asset was the 5th generation family owned hardware store across the street. Having experienced that relationship between the two shops I will be looking to start my own shop as close to a hardware store as possible then eventually build up my inventory. If that’s not possible I might just have to start my own hardware shop along with a fab shop.

I use a different supplier but you're not kidding when you say it reduces stress. Nothing worse than having to send somebody down the road to the hardware store to find out their bin is empty too.

I bitch and mown about the fastenal guys all the time, but truth be told those guys don't have an easy job and they work their butts off. Production would shut down in less than a day if they didn't show up. They are in and out all day every day even saturday if we really need something. The best part though, is the vending machines full of tools and consumables.

Thanks so much! Being a truck tech just became so monotonous. You’ve changed one clutch, you’ve changed them all. I was tired of the same back breaking work every day. So I went to school for mechatronics engineering and absolutely fell in love with all the technical stuff it involves. I highly recommend industrial maintenance for any tech looking to change fields. You already have a great background with mechanical, just need to dive a lot deeper into electrical and automation. Thanks for the comment. Good luck!

Watch your invoices. Our guys screw us every once in a while. Like 3000 for a 300 endmill. They also took over a year to get us "Q" drills. The sales guy makes all the difference though.

About an year ago I landed a job as a maintenance engineer at a cold storage facility. Unfortunately we don’t have anything that nice. At the beginning I tried to get the higher ups to invest in a setup like this, but I was told “no”. I’d be too valuable and efficient for production and the right way to do it is to spend 3 hours searching through the scraps bin and spare parts bin for the hardware I needed to do the job…and if I couldn’t find it my manger can go to the HomeCheapo only to bring back the wrong stuff…😂😅

20 years ago, I was trying to find a sensible part number plan for fasteners that made reordering easier. Part numbers that are length x dia x tpi is never correct, add in other variables, it's a disaster. Then I got a Fastenal catalog.

@@dansproshop at my shop we are a huge fastinal customer we order all types of hardware in bulk from self taps to bolts nuts washers bushings. But sadly we don’t have time to order and setup shelves because of production we store everything in hardware bins

  • @smartassist9700
    @smartassist9700 ปีที่แล้ว

I really need “two” of those shelves with bins! 1 small and medium bins/ one with larger bins!
Disabled, to have that to hold all types of small items I use for wood working, electrical, piping, and small tech items!.
Can you assist me In receiving? If I need to blog video,I can start! God bless!
I donate time doing for elderly/couples and widows. Everything! For free.
    Thx. Alton

I'd bet most of your coworkers have never had to buy hardware for personal use, besides maybe ARP hardware. No my bad that's against the rules in the employee handbook...
