Water proofing is a cool feature but LG V20 is impact resistant! Many phones are getting damaged due to accidental drops than water damage.

Good review son!! I prefer this phone 📱 over the Pixel. You lose features but not as many going from the Note 7. Pixel just seems like a Android version of the iPhone and nothing else. Feature heavy phones are the BEST.
Those are my thought exactly. I had one for a week and traded in for the V20. Had the v10 before and missing all the features. Having the Pixel just made it more apparent.

Wide angle, removable battery, good audio and big display (plus secondary display) has made me want this phone over phones like the Xiaomi mi 6, lg g6, and Google pixel😆. I don't really care about having the latest specs because when you get a flagship, you know it's gonna be good and fast!! A must buy for any person who really values features (not gimmicky ones) which help you throughout the day!! 😆👊👏 Well done lg for making a true phone!

It was this most excellent review that had me purchase a V20 two years ago. The audio really kicks ass but after my rough treatment the display cracked. So I ordered another off Ebay for $158. A new display can be had for $38 and I'll repair it to have a back-up. No glue, this cell screws together with 23 tiny fasteners.
Note Flossy, I up-graded to Oreo 14 months ago, now finally, LG has approved Pie9 for the V20 and it should be available by the 30th of September.

I'm just trollin now, but I do kinda feel like wireless charging is overated. In the real world us average users are usually sitting on the sofa or in bed while the phone is charging, which you can't do while wireless charging but that's just me.

Flossy Carter Thank you for the reply. My first Flossy reply :-). No I didn't know there was wireless wireless chargers around. I'm yet to see those advertised anywhere here in the UK. So can't speak for the rest of the world. I also work in a hospital and our IT department don't allow wireless chargers, so wireless wireless chargers would be a no no. On a side note there is back covers for wireless charging on the V20 so LG should ha I just added that as standard on the V20.

I just upgraded from a Note 3 to the V20. Best upgrade. The v20 should last me another 4+ years. I hardly upgrade my phones.
it may not be water proof, but at least it's explosion resistant.
IR blaster is the best feature.
IR Blaster, Removable battery, expandable memory, split screen multitasking, quick charge and......... :P although your V20 doesn't come with headphones, when you use headphones with the LG V20 the phone will rock your headphones! It might just blow you away! haha
If you've never had one you wouldn't understand. But just imagine controlling your tv, stereo, cable box, blu ray player, air conditioner, heater, at home and outside all from your phone. It's amazing.
I agree with the ir blaster feature....not sure why everybody has cut them out.
yeah this feature you just have to use it few times so that you can appreciate how good it truly is. these are types of small things google should tell these manufacturers to implement in the phones IR's, true FM radio recievers (none of that need a headphone nonsense) etc

You didn't mention FM radio. Free radio is must if you don't wanna buy a media service.

$800, wow, it's amazing how quickly these phones lose their value. You can pick up good condition LG V20's on ebay now for 65-120 bucks. The Sprint variant by far being the cheapest, bought mine a few days ago for $70, just came in the mail and it's in like-new condition. Love it so far.

Still looking for a phone to replace the one I have that has become a POS (earlier LG) - two in less than a year - and have to say I was impressed with your sim card/expandable memory library of cards you have in stock in your phone wallet. Thank you for taking the time to be as thorough as you are. Started out thinking to get a new replacement phone would be a cinch but seeing that since I like to keep my phones longer than most I need to put more thought into what would take me further into the future than others and I am NOT a fan of the battery not being replaceable - agh. I had no idea these phones did as much as you show they can. Thank you.
I had a V10 back in the day and it got the boot loop disease. So I got a little sour on LG (It happened to my other LGs as well. ) But when I saw this for only $170 on eBay for one in excellent condition and a 30 warranty- I couldn't resist ordering it. It will replace my BlackBerry PRIV as my back up phone and will replace my Note 4 as my travel companion. (I need a replaceable battery when I travel internationally. ) I bought 2 new OEM batteries for under $20. So for under $200 I will have a beast travel phone. If this works well, I may look at that V30 as a daily driver down the road cuz that OLED and no notch look on the 30 looks ridiculous. Great review as always Mr. Carter.

lg does put headphones in the international boxes but I think the carriers take the headphones out. which doesnt make sense since they keep Samsung and apple headphones in the box and lg headphones tend to be better than both Samsung and apples ear buds/pods. lol

iTrinityPlays im talking about with the g2 g3 ans g4 when they put their own built headphones put in the box. Lol with the v10 they had akg headphones which I understand as well as the b&o headphones as well, but even the b&o ear buds that come with the korean v20 are not the same ones that you get with the v20 promotion. Lol
Either way lg shouldnt be getting shafted when their phones come out. Certain carriers got certain colors of the lg g4 with the leather back, AT&T had the blue v10, and Verizon had the white one. The g5 I couldn't even get it in titan because it was AT&T exclusive. Colors to a damn phone shouldn't be exclusive. Thats as bad as consoles having exclusive dlc for a multiplat game. Lol even if we get some cheap headphones with the g6 internationally the carriers shouldn't do shit like that. Lol

About the water proof. I feel it's reasonable to say that you exchange the water proof/resistance for a open back replaceable battery and my guess is Samsung moved away from replaceable battery that purpose. IMO I'd rather have the replaceable battery, but that's speaking from a specific usage standpoint.
I was on the fence regarding taking the LG back to the store. But after watching his video, I feel good about my purchase. I'm loving it. It takes really good photos. I'm sold.

The Pixel is hideous. I love my pure Android Nexus phones, but the Pixel is a disappointment as far as aesthetics go.
DiRT_SHARK it's a completely different lineup. Not a continuation of the nexus line. So it's pretty much the guinea pig of the pixel series. Don't worry, they will improve in the future, give it time. I have the 6p currently, but don't plan to upgrade to pixel simply because they're almost the same thing. And with my Nexus rooted, I can have the complete pixel experience for free.

I just got me a brand new V20 after doing days of research on the best $300 phone & watched a ton of your vids to educate myself!
The version I got came with B&O ear buds, although I have to try them again as they sounded horrible & the worst cord noise & clicking I've ever tried!!
I've also got a pair of Samsung ear buds, wooden Marley braided cord buds, midrange gym quality wireless & low range wireless buds from Amazon, and the best sounding ones are the -$20 Marley wired buds & I use them all the time! I hope these supposedly high-end BO earphones are good & not defective...
I also have had an ASUS ZENFONE 3 & have found the much-raved single camera not as good as this one, but if you're more of a computer/laptop geek, the ASUS looks & feels a lot more like that device. It was way thinner & lighter too.
Still loving my V20. The quad DAC keeps me coming back.

Good review. V20 isn't water proof because of the removable battery cover. Personally, I love removable batteries, on the go, just swap it out for new battery. This phone has nice cover to do it now too.

As a former note 7 owner, the one issue I have with the phone is the battery. It dies too quickly. Much quicker than the note 5 that had a smaller battery
I was at the gym yesterday, only used the timer. went from 80% to 30% in 82 mins of use.

I got this phone for the following reasons: My old phone is about to die, And I got tired of not having expandable memory, The phone was on sale with the B&O headphones on top of it, Band 66 LTE, the amazing audio quality, and the IR blaster. I knew from watching previous reviews from other people that I couldn't find some of the features that existed. you video helped me out a lot with that, and DAMN was your review extensive. even found a couple of options and features that I didn't know existed. Great work I am definitely going to come back to your real reviews for phones in the future! Also going to be exited to check out what other content you have when I have much more time tomorrow.

best and realist review I have seen for this phone. I'm still holding my LG G3 and have 2 months to go for my Verizon upgrade. I have watched a lot of phones come and go. This might be worthy but who knows what will be released in March that could take the spotlight

The reason why most phones don't come with headphones anymore is because they expect you to have the 20 other shitty pairs that you got from your other phones.
No can do, downgrading from AMOLED to LCD will never happen. Not even if the LCD panel was 8k

complains about price...... crapsung note series had phones that cost more....you should know by now, price is subjective in the tech world, and unless you actually know the tech, can't complain about the price. and water RESISTANCE only became a "must have game changer" after crapsung, you weren't rocking those sony phones....been using my v20 for a week now, never restarted it. Battery life, meh, I do agree, but man, I run auto brightness, there's zero need for max brightness all day unless you can't see. all in all though, nice review, glad you said MY USE this time,lol

Gary White you are right i just read from Samsung website theyre gonna release a software so the phone only chargers 60% Samsung is fucking up they should of released an update to make sure the phones are safe i cant believe they cant find the fucking problem
