I love this pattern but would like to see a scrappy version - is the whole block 1 colour or Is it all random.
Really striking! This would be fun in two colors with one of the starburst medallions in a contrasting color (a cheddar-y orange, a bright lime green, a pop of juicy raspberry?). Love it!

I do like the two color quilt, but I'm trying to envision it scrappy. May have to sew a few squares, mix it up and see what happens. Love all the disappearing blocks!

Blue and white quilts are my favorite!! I'd make this in the exact same fabric. Love it!! I might have to pick up some of that fabric.
They look like snowflakes to me, so I would make the blue the background.

Love this! I like the trimming to 6 1/4". Better than the weird measurements from the original disappearing hourglass.

Jenny is known for claiming she designed a new pattern when all she did was rename it 5:29 , rail fence she calls fence rail
I find it annoying that the people who originally developed these blocks don't get any recognition or credit. She does sometimes refer to Barbara Blackman's encyclopedia.

Super tutorial as usual, Jenny! I bought the pattern last week and wrote some of you tips on it, like squaring to 6 1/4" and completing one block at a time. I have a layer cake of different blue batiks. Have you made this medallion version in any other ways other than two colors? I know your first tute a few years ago had other colors in a different layout. Guess that's what design walls are for!

I'm getting ready to put the borders on another one of your "mistake" disappearing hourglass quilts and I love it. I've been looking for the perfect pattern for a 2-color quilt and this is it! I'm a new quilter so this type of pattern is so simple and do-able for me. This would also make a great wall hanging. Merry Christmas to all the folks at MSQC.
