I am so close to dropping 50k on a low mile 2017. I’m old (55), and I’ll not me making the beast you’ve made, but even stock, it seems to be my dream car.
I have an 2008 VE SS and 2015 VF SSV. Both are manuals. The VE is a stock L98 6 litre that has been lowered 35 mm. The VF SSV is such an improved model over my VE in many respects...It is brilliant to drive.... My VF SSV has a 6 litre L77 ..... lightly cammed, ported and polished with a DOD delete. OTR and 2.5 inch stainless Manta exhaust with 1 3/4 ceramic coated headers. Brembos all round with braided lines. Lowered slightly, about 20 mm and made to sit evenly on the 19 inch Continental Max Contact MC6 tyres...... What I wanted was a car that was not an automatic police magnet.... 317.5 RWKW and 645 nm of Torque. People come up and talk to me all the time when the see my VF SSV.... they like how it sounds...the performance shop wanted to put a 3 inch exhaust system on it... but where I live in Australia there is a noise limit... and large fines. The 2.5 system doesn't look as obvious..... and it only exceeds the limit by about 10 to 15 db. Stock standard, the VE still has plenty of get up and go for passing semi trailers and road trains. The VE feels like it sits lower on its 18 inch Continental Max Contact MC6 tyres.

Thanks! Yes the light does bother me too a bit. I need to find the right TPMS sensor that will work with the Welds. If I recall correctly, I ran into a clearance issue with the factory sensors.
@@LosSS Doing a bit of research it sounds like you may get a light up front for too much air if you have skinnies and a light in the rear if you are running low pressure in the DR's, so it may not matter anyway. 👍

I'm so conflicted on going the LSA route or venturing onto the less-trodden path of large, single turbo with mine. I love that supercharger whine and that cam with the full exhaust, but the engineer in me wants that turbo efficiency. UGH!
Currently just a 2.35 and stock lower. It makes about 12.5 psi. I would like to turn it up more but idk about on stock lower end haha. Turning up the boost is addicting. 😃

Hope you get it! These cars are awesome. The only downside is that parts are getting harder and harder to get. GM has discontinued quite a number of parts and there aren't a lot of aftermarket companies making parts either for these cars, so it takes time to come across some of them.
Before it went boosted, I was running the vcm intake and liked it a lot more than the vararam, which felt really cheap and the filter wouldn’t fit right.

Hey bud my ss is a 2014 I have only 1300 miles on it I'm gone put a BTR stage 3 cam in it would you change the lifters or leave them alone.and do you thank that cam will be ok
It all depends on what your end goal is. A BTR stage 3 cam might not be so friendly with a stock torque converter, you'll probably need a higher stall. If you ever plan on going boosted in the near future, I would go with a boost cam and a zl1/ctsv converter, otherwise get the supporting mods for the BTR Stage 3 cam. Regarding lifters, yes I do recommend them changing up. IMO, go with the Johnson lifters. Also, make sure to do a trunnion kit like the one from CHE and appropriate springs like dual springs depending on the cam lift. Oil pump also if you can while you are add it. A "cam kit" is not everything, there are addition supporting mods that goes with doing a full cam swap.

Its been a lemon pretty much. maybe ill finally get to see this car not suck soon. long story short afm is terrible and shouldnt be ruining cars. rocker arm trunnion needle bearings, collapsed lifters, and the lie that is l99. All ima say is ima try to sue GM. owning one of these since may 2021 has been a sad experience. Mine came with a cam, an exhaust system, a rotofab, and a tune. they didnt upgrade the lifters or rocker arm trunnion needle bearing shit. 30k miles later, 4-8k in repairs for a valvetrain defect so cleverly disguised as engine code numbers that when u realize this car in its automatic form is afm vvt infected, i would have gotten this car much cheaper than what they charged me. oh and i have a warranty on the engine from the dealer till 2025 and they refuse to honor it. I’m sorry you’ve had a bad experience. I hope it comes out great and really get to enjoy it! The SS in the states only came with the LS3 so it doesn’t have any of that in it. I had a truck before the SS and when I did a cam kit, I also had to do the the VVT/ DOD delete on the 5.3L.

I strongly recommend switching to Ram Jet intake, you’ll gain so much power compared to vararam
