    Just wanted to thank you very much for your videos and your time. 97 crew cab here and have watched all of your videos. Very informative and love the professionalism. Lot of 7.3 videos out there, but yours I can trust. The amount of parts I’ve replaced in my 20-30 year old truck is hard to fathom, but I love the truck. You are naturally talented when it comes to explaining situations, down to the last detail. Have ccv mod on driver side to atmosphere and now will look into both heads into pvc can. Thanks again and look fwd to more videos

    Amazing how brilliant minds think alike. I just completed and installed something similar on my 08 Super Duty 6.4. If any veh. needed a catch can this one does? Mine is made of The same PVC. It's a clean-out coupler and an end cap.3/8" ball check valve threaded in to the center of the end cap as a drain valve I hold it to the frame with two 4"muffler clamps and saddles this has a SS sink drain catch and is packed with SS pot scrubbers any very similar 👌

    I watch all your videos. The information you share has been invaluable to me in the maintenance of my 1998 van. My electrical system is now restored and upgraded from original and is working flawlessly. No more flickering battery icon! My oiling system is now superior to when new based on your recommendations. I upgraded to a Fluidamper harmonic balancer based on your comments and this was a noticeable difference and improvement over stock. So "Thank you" for helping me bring this van into a better condition than it was the day I purchased it in 1998. Now I am considering your current advice on this CCV modification. I have no doubt that this mod works as you say. But I have one important question - How much smoke exits the hose back by the rear wheels? How noticable and hateful is the smell accompanying this? I have read many comments from other 7.3 owners that did a CCV mod just venting this under their trucks w/o your catch can system that mention these negatives. Real world...what do you experience?

    • @AntoineClaquin-cf2hd
      @AntoineClaquin-cf2hd 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is a decent amount of smoke. Mine is currently vented at driver side rear tire. Depending on wind direction when not moving you can smell it. Not very pleasant, why I’m considering catch can. Maybe will minimize it

    Great video. I have a Question not related to the video. I have a 2001 F 250 7.3, I tow with it and would like to have it better at towing. I'm not really interested in changing my original injectors to whatever these other 7.3 groups are telling me they think with this stage 1.5 and stage 2 injectors. I think i should be able to get the results I'm looking for a different way. My ? is really what would you recommend. So far the only thing I have really done to my truck is all the sensors and wiring harness. I did that watching your videos. Thank you for all the great videos you do on the 7.3. I have learned a lot from them. also I tow a camper roughly 10,000 lbs when loaded.

    @CUSTOMWORKS7.3PSD random thought but since they are cheaply available what would you say about running the larger 6.0 style power steering cooler before the catch can to help condense the vapor ?

    Why no more than 16 holes on the cutting board?
    What are the depths and parts for the driver side since it uses a bigger diameter hose?
    Is this all trial and error or is there a way to figure out how to size everything?

    What are your thoughts about venting straight into the exhaust through a Venturi and forgoing the catch can?

    • @CUSTOMWORKS7.3PSD
      @CUSTOMWORKS7.3PSD  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      When you put your self out there you have to be very careful of what you say and show So I would prefer to have shown where you cut a hole in the exhaust but not like the Venturi but simply adding a 8 inch pipe that would hook up to the down tube from the CCV and 6 inches would run parallel inside the exhaust pipe so there wouldn't be any vacuum effect exactly like GM did in there early converter equipped vehicles that had air pumps on the engine I have done this and never had any oil build up so it does work

    I have a request from the gentleman in the video. Is there any chance that I can contact you personally? I'm not trying to be weird and creepy but I could definitely use a professional or at least your assistance on a few things to do with my 7.3 powerstroke. Hello sir.i got a question for you wt do u think about the 7.3 powerstroke exhaust manifold which one it's better the stock or I've seen some made out of stainless steel thank

    • @CUSTOMWORKS7.3PSD
      @CUSTOMWORKS7.3PSD  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It doesn't make any noticeable difference or benefit for performance stay stock thats what was engineered for it As far as stainless steel there is many different what i'll refer as grades not the actual technical name but u get the gist Its very hard doesn't expand which under the high EGT's they crack after a fast cool down like a really miserable cold day in winter

    • @CUSTOMWORKS7.3PSD
      @CUSTOMWORKS7.3PSD  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@jbbolts it comes down to what oil you use if royal purple no extended idle beyond stop lamps and running in the house and back out if Schaeffer Oil you can let it idle all day long long, idle on a 7.3 and only this engine heats up the bearing in the turbo and robs it of lube so you need a oil that has a TDN 10 and up as far as the rest of the engine it doesn't bother it On very very cold day i'll let my truck idle by the shop for running for service calls I have over 700k on that one no oil issues no HP issues from doing this but the LPOP and HPOP are the high volume So ambulance spend a lot of there life idling I buy them all the time very low miles when I take them apart there is no noticeable wear and there maintained using the best oil on the market and its usually Schaeffer Oil because its given to municipalities at cost thats why they use it A lot of professionals will argue all kinds of issues and there right but we are taking a 7.3 its a different animal

      @@CUSTOMWORKS7.3PSD Ok thanks for your time and all you do... I watch a lot of videos but I always come back to yours for the last word. I couldn't find anything but shell Rotella and I just did first oil change since getting the truck a couple months ago. It would not start below zero(celsius) before and the other day it started at -20c. I was ready to run extra wires and hook up an extra battery or 2 in the cab. The truck was well maintained. Everything is ok had it scanned and all that came up was icp valve but haven't even swapped it out and the truck runs fine. Thanks again much appreciated!
      I put in Shell Rotella 5w40 btw... it was all I could find in that weight at the time.

      @@jbbolts Shell Rotella T6 4w40 oil starts at 10.4 then at 5k miles drops to under 6 on most oil analysis take a look or try Schaeffers 15/40 starts at 10.8 and stays constant even after 100k miles double down and add 2 Schaeffers Moly EP and you have a combination thats unbeatable But don't believe me search and watch multiple youtube videos everyone who try this brand and tests it is always blown away at its quality

    Why the catch can? For the last year I have been simply venting to the atmosphere. I flipped the ccv. I used short piece of 3/4” copper pipe for a coupler so that I wasn’t narrowing/ restricting the flow at all. I run the 3/4” ID tubing up slightly then down under the truck. Not a drip of oil out of it ever. I suppose the oil doesn’t make it over the hump. Am I missing something? Why’s the catch can needed? I can kinda see the need for a ccv on the passenger side. But I’m not understanding the need for a catch can.
