  • This week we tackled the Propex heater and finished up our gas system. It was a dirty job but it had to be done! We finally tackle the freshwater system and some tedious wiring for all the sensors that should make life on the road run a bit smoother!

All coming together well now,in my experience any plumbing entails leaks, even plumbers get this,(I'm not a plumber!) but in the confines of a van they're even more difficult to fix.I would recommend putting a gas drop-out hole in the propex heater cupboard,a 50mm hole through the van floor with a gauze cover, propane is heavier than so any slight leak will vent to the outside,as any pipe joints can vibrate when van is in motion causing a slight leak, prob never happen but always a good safety feature wherever you have gas joints, but I'm sure your gas fitter will advise you.soon be time to get away in your van and start enjoying the fruits of you labour👍Paulo

That’s really good advice. We actually installed one of those vents in there back when we were building the enclosure and this video didn’t really show it.
We’re just waiting for the gas engineer guy to come back from his holiday before he will be available to do a safety check on the whole system. Fingers crossed!
We always appreciate tips like this. We can never be certain we’re not forgetting something and we don’t know what we don’t know! ☺️

Hi there. We found the heater worked really well but it does use a lot of gas so make sure you have a big tank!
