    I'm coming to this a bit late but there is an old trick for starting a new hole where there was one before which might help in future. If you mount a centre drill with the flats horizontal and start to drill but then push the drill chuck away from you with gentle pressure from the tool post, this turned your centre dril into a single lip cutter and once the joke is trued release the toolpost pressure and drill normally. I told Abom this trick and Quinn learnt it from him, it's simple but effective.

      Just the name the designer of the tool and cutter grinder came up with. I think it was the name of a town in England where Professor D. H. Chaddock lived.
