Very nice work. My projects generally progress at a much slower pace, impressive. Have you considered using CAD to layout your split collar location relative to the features of your part?

No CAD, but plenty of grid paper sketches and ciphering. The process seems easier when there is a core hole. This one was complicated by the irregular shape of the casting. Made a custom piece of threaded rod and clearance is fine. Thanks for watching!

Hi Bill, nice machining as usual.. SHIT ..But my plans Model Engineer 1974 and my Ouorn Book 1987 Page 31, has no reference to a double conical cut on both sides of the Fig 25 Tilting Bracket is this for the Mk2 or Mk3 version, because I machined only "One cone" way back in 1990 this was about when my last brain cell got fried, there was no way of asking for help back then, nowadays there would be 1000 opinions ....Some where I have the 3 Page

Set of full size plans be interesting to check those...It is You and Matty that have inspired me to get my rusty bits out of the box..I made so many bits but "Hit The Wall" I started to look at starting from scratch and no castings all homemade Regards Beagles.

Join the Quorn-owners group dot IO to see a lot of great resources in the files and photos sections. Lots of good information about the modifications!

I built one these years ago strictly by the prints. I have used it for many sharpening chores and it was well worth the time and effort to construct. But; I wish this video had been available back then with all of the great changes and improvements.

@@metalmill52 Hope so too, also hope there is continued interest in this sort of endeavor... It took a number of years to build up the shop and equipment. Being retired means lots of time in the shop with absolutely no days off!
