    I'am happy to have a QS again and it isn't the most practical or best shifting QS ive used but it is pretty cool to have again. I would say be at least have throttle before using it, the manual states you can use it above 2000 RPM but I would say if felt considerably smoother when at half throttle. Thanks again for watching....cheers!!

    I own two R7, one blue and the other black. I had quick shifters install on both bikes at the dealer, an couldn't get them to work. Thanks for showing the last step at the end, holding the shifter up for 10 secs. The QS symbol now shows on my display, seems that the shop missed a step. Great Video!!!

      @@alexv5581 Man I tried responding to your comment twice before, but TH-cam deleted it, maybe having more than one R7 violates their policy. 😂
      But seriously, in response to your comment. I actually now have all three, the 60TH Anniversary I picked up this week. I gave the blue to my son for his 21st birthday, and the black I'm giving to my brother who just got out of the Army. As for the 60TH, well that one I'm keeping for me.

    Hey, thanks for the video,
    So I've ordered my R7 and asked my dealer to install the quick shifter to it... however I'm not quite sure how to use it.
    Do I need to engage it and have the QS symbol show up on the dash everytime I want to use it? And do I need to disengage it after I'm done? Or is that QS symbol on the dash permanent?
    Thanks

    • @ScoutsOut
      @ScoutsOut  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Congrats on the new bike, once it’s installed the mechanic should have enabled it. You can tell by the QS on the dashboard if he did. Once the QS is enabled you don’t need to ever turn it on or off it should remain on forever. I thing changes for how the bike rides, you can still use the clutch like normal or don’t use the clutch if you want to quick shift

    Personally i think quickshifters are fine mechanically, but for new riders, they are a terrible habit to start relying on. You wont learn how to properly operate your bike if you have a device doing it for you. It’s a matter of principle for me. It’s the same reason people get compliant, lax, and forgetful when they start learning to ride with abs, and then switch to a bike that doesn’t have it.

      Good point and you miss out on learning how to clutches up/downshift as well. Solid things to be good at espy when they fail
