  • The Jolly Roger Motel is location in Wildwood Crest and was built by the Morey Brothers in the 1960s.
At one point, it had the largest pool in cape My County. Today it still stands as one of the coolest looking Doo Wop motels in the Wildwoods.
The Wildwood Video Archive was able to find this 1960s reel and preserve it.
You will notice that we increase the frame rate to allow it to look smoother. We also enhanced the colors.

Love the Wildwoods, never stayed at the Jolly Roger. Stayed in the Crest many years at the DiLido, which is gone. Moved up to north Wildwood to the Florentine. Hate seeing all the old places go. Thanks Joey.

Thats back when cars were TANKS. you could bang your way into any tight parking spot; no problem. My cousins stayed there alot; we made full use of that pool. The joint has not changed in 60 years. The fringed beach umbrella's are a classic. Along with the old yellow bathing cap too. I was a small girl back then. We stayed on Davis Ave back then. Brought our dog with us too. WW summers were the GOAT... 🩷🩷🩷🩷

We stayed there about two years ago when we met three of my Aunts down there for a get-together, and the pool was pretty big and very nice. Thanks for posting this Joey.

Funny thing is, about 60 years later the place looks exactly the same. 😂

My son's basically grew up there. A week in the beginning of the summer a week at the end. My friend and his family stayed there, we would just let the kids roam all over. Never had a problem
