    Perfect wedding or graduation music.....sad because wedding and graduation all mean a passage in your life...the page has turned.....but glorious because all page turns lead to new chapters in life

    Thanks for this! love this music, every time I watch “fall out” this music evokes a power emotion. Perhaps it’s hearing it in the context of the ending to a long, strange yet powerful series,? Love it! ❤

      I've been a Prisoner fan since it was shown in the 90s-- Fall Out is my single fave ep of any tv show in the history of ever! LOVE the music in this ep-- I wish I could tell Pat McGoohan how much I love this show. It could ONLY have been made in the late 60s. Bravo!

    Dear Ron, thank you for putting your musical creations up on TH-cam. Your music makes my heart happy! And it makes my feet dance when I am at my gemology table during the work week. You are very generous, thoughtful, and kind to share it with us - you fellow human beings. Thank you once again!

      Hi, Katherine --
      That's all extremely kind of you to say. You made my day!
      I should point out that, in this case, they're not actually my creations, but cuts from a commercial production music library (used in "The Prisoner").
      The original form of that music (i.e., stereo) seemed to have gotten lost over the years. And so I'm very happy to have found them, 50+ years later, and be able to share those with really nice people like you. ☺
      Again, thank you so much.

    This is honestly one of the most beautiful tunes I've ever heard and it only adds to the sense of melancholy and forlorn beauty that it was obscure library music by some anonymous person who lived and died decades ago. What was Gary Bellington like? What was going through his head as he composed this? We can never ask and we'll never know.

    • @media-ron
      @media-ron  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed, and well-said.
      I don't know whether Mr. Bellington is in this, but it looks like a GREAT recent documentary about that very world of unknown composers whom we've all heard, without knowing them:

    I'm not 100% sure but I think this wonderful tune was also used in an episode of the late 1960's french children's tv series "Belle and Sebastian" and in the 1973 film "The Going Up of David Lev".

    • @media-ron
      @media-ron  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Unfortunately, it was never offered (or intended) for commercial retail sale, so you won't find it on Amazon or elsewhere.
      The music library it came from was targeted towards content creators like film & television production companies, for use within their productions. It was not intended for end-consumers, hence the difficulty in acquiring this track.
      The cut was featured in a couple of the Prisoner music compilations, but to my knowledge, never before in stereo.
      I hope this helps.

    I thought Rod Grainer was responsible for the music on the Prisoner?

    • @media-ron
      @media-ron  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Good question!
      There were actually three composers who created music specifically for The Prisoner: Robert Farnon, Wilfred Josephs, and Ron Grainer. Between them, they composed dozens of tracks used in the series.
      Grainer's composition for the theme was chosen by McGoohan for the opening/closing titles, though performed much more uptempo than Grainer's original rendition.
      In addition to the three composers' contributions to incidental music, there were also a number of cues -- including this one -- sourced from an industry music library from Chappell.
      (Please see video description for details.)
