Hey this camera is very nice and 2 lens , solar pan & tilt feature. Cameras with speaker have been out for sometime and just can’t get how there’s a glitch with something in the operating system in a near perfect product. example crystal clear speaker. It’s nice to be able to project your voice at someone in the wrong. I might try one. Excellent video
I have this camera, 2 4k cameras, the new dual camera doorbell and 2 2k cameras in the backyard. Love eufy cameras 👍 Oh and I have the home base 3 with a 1tb ssd and can keep footage for a whole year for all cameras easy.
2x S340 or 4x S330. Which one would be better? Thinking of picking the s330 but since I cannot orientate the solar panel with the S330, I worry that there is not enough sunlight on the north side of the house, especially during winter time.
Impressive that you are still considering Eufy. I still use the PTZ cameras but the Aqara doorbell I prefer over Eufy due to the Apple Home integration and not so negative PR about privacy. Great video regardless. Keep it up George!
They were 100% dead to me after their initial response to those privacy issues. But it’s been nearly a year (maybe over a year) since that situation occurred & they’ve gone above and beyond to fix the issue since. So I decided to stop being stubborn & let go of my grudge. lol
Just my opinion.. can you prioritize the camera feed more than you talking to us.. just so we can see the camera footage you're showing us fully. Either way great video
You're very deep in the security camera market, given your own business & all of your reviews. I agree with a lot of the sentiment that this is a great camera, but that's only taking it into account as a standalone camera. As part of a broader security setup (& particularly having multiple cameras, in which case you'd most likely go for Eufy all round) - what's your take on the fact that Eufy STILL, in 2024, don't support multi-cam viewing? I'm curious because this is a fundamental feature of security camera systems that has been around for well over a decade & one that's supported by almost every other competitor on the market, yet Eufy keep refusing to add the functionality. Personally, I think without this feature it forms a fairly redundant part of a security system, given most situations in which you might need security cameras you want to be able to live view rather than just watch back events at a later date.
I think the lack of multi-cam viewing is definitely a con. I also think that you have to hit a “play” icon to see your stream is a con. But that’s the way MOST (not all) WiFi cameras work. If you want a robust camera system with multi-cam viewing and an automatic stream, my recommendation will always be a good wired NVR system. But I think Eufy in particular could benefit from multi-cam viewing, especially since they like to sell their cameras in multi-camera packages. So you have a great point here.
@@GeorgeLangabeer thanks for the solid & rapid reply! Much appreciated. There are obvious short-comings to a WiFi (and battery) based system, in comparison to POE setups - they will never be comparable but are obviously designed for different use cases. In my case, I'm a renter, so I can't drill holes through things to run cabling & thus have to resort to WiFi cameras at least, but also typically solar/battery cams. I know I'm never going to get full NVR flexibility with this type of setup, but I think multi-cam viewing is a fairly basic one that could be applied without the need for POE cameras or an NVR. This appears to be a software limitation within Eufy's app more so than a hardware limitation of any of their devices. Anyway, I guess we'll keep pushing Eufy to add the feature for another 3 years & hope for the best! Thanks for the great videos though.
Looks like a good choice; I wonder about ice, snow, hail, rain, sunbleach resistance throughout the seasons. Also, I'm looking for a cloud video saving solution, or, is the local saving solution good?
Yeah, I haven’t been able to test it in conditions other than minor cold and rain. So only time will tell as far as harsh weather goes. As far as storage goes, Eufy gives you options. You’ve got the built-in storage on the camera, but you can also use this camera with their new HomeBase for additional storage.
Ok question. We have a chunk of property where we will be on 6 months per year (RV property) and while there we will have wifi, while gone there will be no wifi. Solar powered preferred. Good cell service in the area. OK it's your property what do you pick? On a budget what do you pick? Thanks
I watched both your REOLINK TrackMix WiFi and this one on the SoloCam S340. If you had to pick one to buy today, which would you choose? I'm looking at both and having a hard time deciding.
If you can wait you may be better pleased. I don't know anything about Reolink, but I copied 2 comments from a forum and here they are; "Reolink literally doesn't have smart detection (human, pet, etc). Just motion detection. No motion zones. Wind and branches and rain trigger recordings all the time." "I have both in the house. The eufy app is much better (eg can send rich notifications, better ux timeline view). Eufy also has better out of the box homekit integration (reolink needs to go through homebridge and is not as fast there). Reolink however is better for exterior 24/7 recording using a NVR if you can run wires." Regardless, good luck!@@larrypetty4575
Through all the wireless cameras that you’ve tested, which ones would you buy today? I want the 24/7 recording. I currently have Nest but looking to maybe change. Thoughts? Thanks!
Thx for the video and info. It was very informative .I didn’t catch it but did you say it was connected to the homebase? If so I wanted to know if there’s any difference or better performance having it connected or not.
I have 2 of these cameras. Today, i found out the hard way that when you are in live view, the cameras will not auto record an incident. Is this normal on all eufy cameras?? Is there a setting to change this??

@@GeorgeLangabeer looks like a decent camera but I routinely have -20 to -30 every winter here so I don't think it would survive if it's only rated to -4.
@GregScott-lm8xj For those temps a GOOD wired NVR system is the only way to go. The Alibi System I like is rated -40 to 140 Fahrenheit & that’s if it was those temps everyday. Theres not a WiFi camera out there, that’s made for those temps (unfortunately).
@@GeorgeLangabeer I would be very interested in that but I'm in a rental and not really sure what something like that would cost. I would probably have to have help with install with something like that as well, that's why I have been looking around for awhile and thought that wireless would be the way to go.
Thanks, what would you say the field of sensor for image tracking is in degrees? Like you said, if the camera is panning over here it may not get over there. Does the pan/tilt “center” itself for max coverage for image detection and tracking or is that done through the 4 preset zones that you, mentioned? Sorry trying to make sure I get coverage. I saw it was 360 but trying to see if that’s true and or how the tracking coverage works. I have an area down side of house and would be great if this one unit could cover the backyard and rotate around to get the unobstructed side house view every so often kinda deal…
The normal FOV for this camera is 135 degrees. For your purpose it would be a good idea to have a second camera. As I’ve said in other videos…in a residential situation, I would never 100% rely on a pan tilt camera (or the tracking feature), it’s way too easy to miss something.
This camera is great for situations where you definitely only need one camera. In that case it gives you great bang for your buck. But on a house, where you’re trying to get multiple sides, I’ll always suggest multiples.
@@GeorgeLangabeer oh okay i get it. And how about the eufy tower to have more storage space. Do you recommend it. And one more thing if you go the ethernet how is that cord ran?
Well, this camera is new & hasn’t made it through a winter cycle yet. But Eufy is claiming this new solar panel needs less light than others and continues to charge in inclement weather. It’s been overcast several days during my testing & it still works great. But again, can’t say as far as the winter goes.
My S340, when I do a live view, it will start at my chosen preset place and then pan to the right and down and stay there no matter what I do. It’s annoying
This camera is specifically designed to be used with the solar panel, but you can use any higher powered usb-c power brick if you’d prefer to power it that way. I powered one inside my apartment without the solar panel & it worked great.
