This red ball TAS was made possible through the combined efforts of several Red Ball community members who spent hours upon hours shaving off every possible frame they could find, studying the game's most inner mechanics and breaking down red ball to a science. Also, none of this would be possible without Sage, who created both the individual level TASsing hack and this full-game TAS playback hack. A couple of things to note:
This hack makes it impossible for red ball to die to spikes, since spike glitch itself is a very inconsistent trick that does not function the same at every given moment in time. To keep TAS playback deterministic, the only solution was to disable the spikes entirely. All of these TASses can function with normal spike behavior, just in an inconsistent manner. Additionally, some other very minor modifications were made to the game to prevent this hack from being used to cheat a RTA speedrun.
The loading times between levels are quite long, and they are not counted in the final time. Loading is longer in this hack because of the extra headroom needed by the TAS modifications. Even on the vanilla game, loading times are not consistent and depend on several factors such as flash player version, operating system, and computer hardware.
We currently do not possess the ability to "properly" TAS the vanilla version of this game, but that will change once the flash emulator known as Ruffle starts to support ActionScript 3 games. However, we expect there to be issues with spike glitch and acceleration rounding, which we hope we can resolve when it comes to it.

this is a tool-assisted speedrun, where inputs are read frame-perfectly from a file that has been created

@@saltyllama3137 but a segmented run is actually something different as well. Segmented means you take the fastest versions of different sections of the run. So like if a runner spliced together their best levels in this game, it would be segmented

Even though flash died in browsers like chrome. You can still download an executabe of adobe flash player.

How many of these new strats are viable in human runs?
At some point on a game that takes so little time to beat viability becomes irrelevant. I mean look at super Mario bros
very few, most are only viable for ILs if that. new 3 and 5 strat have been done in ILs for example

Ball exists in level, and has coordinates.
Ball dies and is removed from level.
Game keeps checking for ball touching flag, but now applies the coordinates to the default DOC (effectively the camera)
and so the ball translates a large distance, but you have to pause to make sure that the death timer doesn't finish before the level transition timer
