The encoding hack used to string together all of these individual TASses was created by Sage.
A couple of things to note:
In levels 4 and 9, a strategy known as the death warp is used to activate the flag without having to actually touch it. Normally, a pause is used to delay the 1.5 respawn timer enough to allow the 2.8 second long level transition timer to activate first. However, since the TAS is unable to pause, (the pause in level 1 to activate spike glitch was done manually) the recording just plays out with the respawn event disabled after death.
The transition time between each level can vary on the stock version of the game, but it has been fixed to the intended time of 2.871s in this version.

Run 1's Infinite Mode ranges from 5% to 99% difficulty, featuring randomly generated levels that have fewer tiles and grow in length as the difficulty increases. The difficulty normally goes up by 10% when you beat a level, but if you die, it only goes up by 5%. By intentionally dying at the start of the 5% level, the percentage route is: 5%, 10%, 20%, ..., 90%, 99%, instead of 5%, 15%, 25%, .....

This run was performed on a MiSTer (NES hardware emulator) with a Keychron keyboard. This setup offers console-level input delay with the reliability of a mechanical input device. This marks the final minute barrier that this category will ever see. I did still have a few deaths, but I am more than happy that I pulled off this run. I played every level at the top speed unlocked except for bonuses 4, 5, and 6 on runner. Okay seriously now why did the TASers just come back a year after the whole red ball series got their TAS speedruns posted and kinda just saved one second off of this and vol.1
volume one hasn't had much but this got like 7 seconds saved. new stuff gets found all the time, we update it when we find new stuff
