The focus wasn’t really on joker at the end of Arkham knight It was the internal struggle they were both having over control of Batman, it couldn’t be more about Batman if it tried because it is an internal conflict over who will control Batman. It’s way better than any boss fight could ever have been in its place
Arkham origins is my favorite game in the series it is so much fun to revisit a time when Batman was coldhearted and he didn't know what Joker could be like.
Every arkham game a great ending. They never miss woth the endings, but the arkham city ending has to be the best for me It was the first arkham game I played and it left me genuinely sad. It was written great the game was too fantastic to get over with
I personally would have to disagree about Arkham Knight’s ending being labeled as the weakest. I feel like it is a great thematic end for this saga, as throughout the entire series Bruce fears becoming just as bad as the criminals he battles are, and when Joker takes over that fear is finally realized, but Batman overcomes it through sheer force of will. Yes, we are seeing the joker in this moment since he is the embodiment of Batman’s fear, but ultimately it is a story of a man overcoming his inner demon
Just ignore all the leaps in logic. Like Batman having to willingly let Scarecrow strap him to a gurney when he could've just taken him down. Like the entire stupid plot of Joker having magic blood and Batman having to fight off turning into him. And even when he defeats the mental part of it, he would still need the physical aspect cured as well, which never happens. Like Jason randomly saving Batman even though all he was said was "I'm sorry" and apparently that was enough for him to completely change sides. Or how about Scarecrow's toxin somehow working on himself despite the fact that he's immune to the toxin. Literally nothing about Knight's ending makes logical sense
@@goldengoose6950 Batman had to let himself be strapped to the gurney since as far as he knows, Scarecrow could have snipers ready to shoot Robin and Jim if Batman tries anything and he wouldn't want to risk that. You could argue that it's just Scarecrow in Arkham Asylum, but only the player knows that and not Batman. As for the Joker's blood, I don't think that's actually what's happening to Batman. This might sound unconvincing and I might need add more to this point in the future, but there's a lot of implications that Batman isn't actually infected by Joker's blood and his green eyes are due to Scarecrow's fear toxin having Titan in it. The evidence leading up to this is Scarecrow's post credit scene in Arkham Asylum, a news story in Arkham City about how he sailed on a Titan container and the beginning of Arkham Knight establishing Crane has a new toxin. He's clearly been planning this for a while. I know Batman and even Robin later thinks he's the last Joker, but that's only what they think and aren't aware of what's actually going on with him. Plus, Arkham City even established Titan can cause hallucinations as Batman experienced them twice and there's no evidence Joker's blood separate from Titan has anything to do with them. As for Arkham VR and the flashback in the Movie Studio, I think Crane or Jason secretly gassed Batman with some fear gas before Arkham Knight just as a way to mess with him before the main event. Even without Arkham VR, Batman making a fifth cell in the Studio could just be because he's taking precaution as he doesn't know how the new Joker infection works and if it could infect him. He takes precautions all the time. Jason didn't save Batman because he said sorry. Throughout the Jason boss fight, Batman tries to reach him by offering to help him and sympathizing with what he's been through by Batman. This culminates in the cutscene where Batman refuses to beat up Jason and offers to help him fix things. Jason spent the whole game thinking Batman doesn't care about his allies and replaces them when he feels like it. So he wouldn't expect Batman to help him since he has a new Robin. But Batman proves him wrong by refusing to hurt him and willing to make amends with his old sidekick, which makes Jason realize that he does care and it's why he saved Batman. If it Jason actually did change because Batman said he’s sorry, he wouldn’t have pointed a gun at him before he offered his hand to Jason. Where is it established the Crane is immune to his own fear toxin?
@@jaxxpool9630also adding to the Jason point, in his tapes, he has a conversation with Barbara and she tells him that Bruce devoted all his time and energy to looking for Jason.

@@goldengoose6950yup. The part with joker never made sense to me. Are the hallucinations triggered by the fear gas or jokers infected blood? All the other joker infected were never exposed to fear gas but still "turned" into joker. Apparently once batman gets over his fear of becoming the joker, the infected blood just stops affecting him. Makes no sense. Also Crane getting one punched by Gordon is beyond anti climactic.
I don’t like how much joker is still super relevant after his death, and taking the spot light away from scarecrow and the Arkham knight, but even I still think it’s the best ending if we’re just analyzing it by itself and not in relation to how many times the joker has been used

Because honestly, I thought playing as the Joker was actually terrifying and it fits with the game's theme of Batman being afraid of becoming the very thing he swore to destroy. The whole game is about fear itself, so I don't see why it shouldn't end this way. Also, I want to say a hot take regarding how Arkham Knight is constantly called the worst Arkham game and people saying Paul Dini should've wrote it.....Even if I were to hate on Knight, Dini's idea wouldn't be that good anyway since he wanted to make Hush the main villain, who should've been easily caught by Batman in Arkham City, if not shortly after. As much as I love his work, he fell off in that area.
I actually really love Arkham Knight, but it sure as hell isn't the ending of THAT one. And the additional epilogue that you only get after 100 percenting the entire game doesn't make it any better.
@foeinform I just think narratively arkham knight has the best ending, no it doesn't have no crazy boss fight or nothing but it's emotional and is a narrative joyride. From the moment you take off the utility belt everything changes and you don't know what's going to happen. The mental battle between joker and batman was amazing because the whole game you didn't know if bruce would snap or not. And it has the iconic line, "I am vengance! I am the night! I AM BATMAN!" When batman gets the upper hand. It's just perfect too that the real joker is dead and the true final battle between batman and joker is in batman's head in a way it's how it's always been really.
I completely disagree with arkham knight being a C tier ending. I think the dichotomy between joker and batman throughout the first two games was amazing and then come to find out that even after the joker dies in city, the disease he shared with batman begins to take him over and turn him into a complete monster. Multiple times in the game batman comes so close to defeating scarecrow and the arkham knight but cant because hes fighting the mental battle keeping him from becoming that monster, until the finale.
