    'Trespass' is the most important Genesis album. It paved the way for the music that made Genesis among the best and most beloved and respected prog bands ever. 23 October 1970. 50th anniversary this year. There won't be other 50th anniversary, so please give us a deserved deluxe edition. Original mixes haven't been available on CD for 25 years, when 'Definitive Edition remaster' came out. Drenched in no-noise. Remixes could've been better. I know a brand new stereo & 5.1 mixes would be much welcomed among fans. Also, all the 1970 BBC Sessions (incl 'Jackson Tapes') and Roundhouse 1970, the only visual document of the band with Anthony Phillips. None of us is getting any younger. It's now or never. And please, all the subsequent albums in deluxe format as well. Thank you!

      I agree. The drumming all over Trespass is innovative, beautifully executed, superbly recorded, and it pushed every song in the direction it needed to be pushed. Collins turned out the "better drummer," for sure, but I doubt he would have been the better choice had Ant Phillips hung on for one more Genesis album!

I did not at all expect to find this album (which I’ve been meaning to get for a while), brand new, on sale for $6.99, right in the very front of the store with the other $7 sale tag cds, which are usually only bands like RATM, Tom Petty, Nirvana, Aerosmith, and other bands, but never have I ever seen Genesis in there, nor would I have expected TRESPASS to be the album that would be there if I ever found them there.

      This is the more recent remix from about 2007 or 2008. The original mix is ever so slightly slower, but only to the degree that this mix is 5 seconds shorter.

      Like Bryan said, this is a remaster, and for some reason the remaster is slightly faster. The copy you are playing on your turntable is probably the original track that isn't sped up, I noticed this with my vinyl copy.

    Magistral et surtout pour l'époque. Un an plus tard Phil Collins arrivera et Genesis existe encore aujourd'hui grâce à Phil ! 2021 Genesis and Phil still THE BEST in this world. Aucun groupe encore à ce jour n'arrive à leur niveau. Perfection musicale et vocale. Thank you so much from Paris.

    • @stependragon
      @stependragon ปีที่แล้ว +1

      J'adore Phil Collins et il a apporté beaucoup au groupe , mais il faudra tout de même plusieurs albums (genre 5, au moins) pour vraiment sentir son apport dans les compos... Et pour certains dont je ne fais pas partie, c'est lui qui a anéanti le "vrai" Genesis"...
      Genesis, c'est surtout Tony Banks qui écrivait et a écrit jusqu'au dernier album la plupart des chansons et qui a apporté cette ambiance automnale à la musique de ce groupe. Même Peter Gabriel n' a pas fait autant pour Genesis que Banks.

    Que pena que no se juntan todos los miembros de Genesis, aprovechando que aun están vivos, y dejan de lado los egos, especialmente Tony, que todavía no pasó su rencor con Peter. Los fanáticos de siempre, merecíamos una reunión real de sus formaciones más creativas y no solo de la que les fue comercialmente más productiva

    This was released as a single, absolutely majestic song...
    Tony Banks:
    “The Knife“ was an important song for us to write, because quite a lot of what wed done up to the point was quite soft and acoustic. Peter (Gabriel) wrote what you might call the best bit. We started trying all this extra stuff not just guitar solos, but really structured instrumentals. A lot of the songs had quite simple starting points we allowed ourselves to stretch.
