Wow! Sir, I think I just watched the best mechanical video on TH-cam, very explainable, highly understandable, which makes me subscribe to you wonderful channel. Thank you
I’ve been diy for 48 years and as weird as it it may sound I’m impressed with the quality of the plastic fastening on my L322, I’ve opened up a heap of things to run wires and nothing has ever broken, unlike most other brands.
Thanks for the video had the same problem with my Jag xf , ABS light was coming on also car wouldn’t start completely dead , the switch is the same just sits slightly different on the pedal box
Hi Simon, do you know if this brake switch controls the rotary gear selector on Disco 4 (2015 model) i.e. if this fails, does this stop the gear selector from being able to be moved from P to R or D?
@@L663 I have an intermittent problem with rotary transmission selector getting stuck in P. General consensus is that it is the controller, but was trying to rule out the brake switch. However I suspect given that the switch needs to operate just to start the car, then the switch is probably working and not the problem. Looks like the more expensive problem - change the controller!
Hi Chaps, my HDC is showing a fault, I have replaced both the battery and the brake light switch...I pop disco 3 into drive pull away and after 15 seconds of driving the front driver side brake enables like ABS and the system displays HDC fault...is it possibly a fuse or id there something else I should check?...thank you in advance for all advice.
Hello, could you help me. I have the same errors on RRS 2006. Hand brake fault, special program off, dtc light sometimes engine system faut(limp mode) hdc fault, trasmission fault?
im having a few faults with my discovery 4 i changed this and it seemed tix it,but now its back, using iid im getting C1B00-64 (E8) Steering angle sensor-algorithm failure, have you had this
Hi , I just purchased a Range Rover Sport 2006 from an auction. It drives fine but when starting the car I get the following messages: System Fault Special Programs Not Available / Park Brake Fault / Transmission Range Change Not Available. Also I am unable to set the Hand Brake on and the warning flashes all the time. When I switch off the engine, the message Follow Me Home Lights On message appears.....Not sure how to turn these off. Any assistance would be highly appreciated and would save me money taking to a mechanic.
it could be a problem with the EPB - electronic parking brake module - this is located under the car infront of the spare wheel. These can give problems and are expensive to repair. You need to get the car to a fault reader and look at the faults but the parking brake would be a good start.
L322 Full size Range Rover DOES NOT have this switch. It has a non contact hall-effect sensor that does not go wrong. For L322 owners, don't just rush out and buy this switch.
Just changed my switch after constant dashboard lighting up like a xmas tree every time i drive .problem now cured .Brilliant video
Glad it helped

Changed mine today thanks to this video. Much appreciated!!
Glad it helped
Thanks for the video. Shows very clearly how to replace the switch. Got a new replacement for £10 on ebay and fitted in 5 mins with the help of this.
Glad it helped
A really useful video, I think you did very well to capture this on camera, it is hard enough just to get at these under dash places.
Thanks for the video had the same problem with my Jag xf , ABS light was coming on also car wouldn’t start completely dead , the switch is the same just sits slightly different on the pedal box
Yes ! This little lad can cause a lot of troubleshooting in your head if you don’t no where to start looking.
Another brilliant video... Keep it up 👍📹👏
Thanks 👍
very good video Mate - quality video well explained good camera - thanks
I love this guy!!
We love you too....
Honestly, my too.
Yes a really excellent dude.
Very helpful video, what other link
with this switch as 🛑 light.
Thanks
Is there a similar company for Toyota RAV4 owners? I have a 1997 auto and it once needed a rear number plate bulb.
Anybody got a link to the metal clips or where I can buy them from? Thanks
Great video. I lost the metal clips when removing the panel. Does anyone know where I can find replacements?
I see on the screen of the IID tool, it also read an ABS module code. Is that due to a faulty brake switch also?
You are the best
Thanks,great vid
Would replacing this help if a Range Rover Evoque was having trouble with brake lights staying on after switching the car off?
It could well be worth a try !
My top one works but tail light break lights don’t work. Still the switch maybe?
there maybe 2 sets of contacts in the switch - but not 100% sure
Have a blinking AFS warning light when driving. Any idea what that could be?
Thanks very much
D4 2010 (facelifted)
At a guess.... ABS sensor in one of the wheels / hubs
@@L663 OK thank you very much. Ill have a look into it

I am not 100% sure but I know i does cause a lot of havoc generally.

Hi Cliff - sorry this has me stumped - have you made any progress ?
Hello, could you help me. I have the same errors on RRS 2006. Hand brake fault, special program off, dtc light sometimes engine system faut(limp mode) hdc fault, trasmission fault?
What type of diagnostics are you using, Looking for one for my RRS
GAP Diagnostics IID tool - bluetooth version - search our other videos for "IID" and you will see some of the videos.
im having a few faults with my discovery 4 i changed this and it seemed tix it,but now its back, using iid im getting C1B00-64 (E8) Steering angle sensor-algorithm failure, have you had this
Hi - sorry not had this issue ! - maybe someone else will post a comment
Get your wheel alignment done, it should sort it
Hi, For OBD diagnostics which tool do you use and which mobile app did you use in the video?
I was using the IID tool and app from GAP diagnostics.
Can’t for the life of me get this switch out of my Freelander 2 SD4 HSE, access is so restricted. Any ideas???

good to know !
Every one keep a spare one of these in your car... you can thank me later when i save you a $250 tow!
I had not thought of this - but its not a bad idea !
Fault break can cause problems
Did he even say why you need to replace this part???!!
